  1. If what I read about the Dwight spinoff is accurate, it seems like it would be amusing for a short while, but get old fast.
  2. Honestly, reading that article, I can see why Prince doesn't want anything to really do with Cecil. Cecil comes off as rather entitled, and I don't think having a relationship with his son and family is his sincere motivation. Cecil tries to paint himself as a great father, while not mentioning stealing Prince's signing bonus and racking up huge gambling debts.
  3. I thought last night was kind of a downer. Jim is getting annoying and stale big time.
  4. I haven't seen anything about that, so I think your beer goggles were deceiving you.
  5. There used to be one or two, but I think they're both defunct now. I would join a BF.net league, but not interested in being a commish right now.
  6. I believe he can be at Spring Training as well. I remember a few years ago when Mike Cameron had that 25 game suspension, he still played in spring training and even played in a pre-season game at Miller Park right before the start of the season.
  7. Well, hopefully he has matured a bit. Supposedly he's kept himself in great shape (yes, all athletes say this), and he played in winter ball this year as well. While he may be described as being "laid back", I don't think he's stupid, either. Gamel knows that his MLB career could well be on the line this season.
  8. Tom Haudricourt said something about this yesterday: It would not surprise me if this week also goes by without decision on Ryan Braun. I am told it is a very thorough, process-oriented system. So yeah, I could see it going well into the later part of this month right now.
  9. I agree with others that they should just end the "brand extension", but my guess is that WWE will never do that at this point. From a business standpoint, it probably makes more sense to have two separate products, as messed up as they are.
  10. We found the best place to hang out and get autographs was right behind the dugouts before the game. Of course, there will be a lot of people there, so get there early.
  11. Yeah, I don't see how anyone can say McGehee was anything other than terrible in 2011. There's a reason he didn't start in the playoffs. Gamel having that type of season would be a disaster for his career at this point.
  12. MLB and everyone involved has been extremely tight lipped. I think it might give credence to some of the rumors that have been alluded to earlier. I still think he'll "get off", somehow. It seems like if he were going to be suspended, we would have heard by now, since it should be relatively cut and dry.
  13. I hope the actual bobble looks that good. There have been way too many bobbles lately that ended up looking like "generic baseball player". That Lucroy actually does look like him.
  14. Yeah, I don't get what's really compelling about another Undertake/HHH match at this point.
  15. I think he'll be our transition guy at 1B. Sort of like a Lyle Overbay. He'll be serviceable, but not the long term answer.
  16. Personally Wolf won me over with his "I'm confused why I suck right now," line during his first season with the Crew.
  17. I agree that it should be Gallardo (and will be, barring some unusual circumstance). Even though I consider both Greinke and Gallardo to be top flight pitchers, Gallardo is the more established #1 Brewers pitcher.
  18. That's pretty much how he always is.
  19. Anyone running a league this year? I had an NL only league last season which was fun, but participation sort of fizzled toward the end of the season. If anyone has any openings, let me know.
  20. Plus the fact that Jimmy Rollins (IIRC) alluded to the fact that some players have in fact been cleared. I would think an actual MLB player would no more than certain sports writers.
  21. When I was there last year, I got Uecker, and it seemed like he was signing pretty much anything.
  22. Yes, I agree on Molitor (as I've stated in the past). The difference is that Sal Bando didn't really make what was seen as a serious attempt to re-sign Molitor, while the Brewers apparently did try to extend Prince two or three times.
  23. From what I've heard, Oswalt is behaving like Roger Clemens, and is only interested in like two teams. I doubt the Brewers are on his short list (though crazier things have happened, I suppose).
  24. I seriously would think about quitting being a fan if the Brewers changed their name, so I have no good ideas.
  25. Are Cubs fans unhappy with A-Ram going to Milwaukee? That's something I honestly hadn't thought about before. The Cubs are clearly in rebuild mode right now, so I think it's understandable for a player who's a bit older leave for a chance to win before it's too late. Of course, fans aren't always logical about these sorts of things. Prince's situation was a bit different in that the Brewers were just two wins away from the World Series, and should be in contention again this season.
