    No. Very good player, but if he didn't play his whole career with the Yankees, it wouldn't even be a question. If you vote him in, you have to vote in Jason Kendall and a bunch of others.

    Assuming he has a decent bench coach, he should be ok. Still a bit of a curious hire, but the ChiSox haven't been known to do things by the book anyway.

    Believe me I know. Running on maybe four hours sleep today. At least with the 4pm start tomorrow, I should manage to stay awake for the whole thing!

    My reason for optimism is that my wife just gave birth to a happy and healthy baby boy two days ago. I know he is going to see at least one Brewers playoff win this season, and it's going to be tomorrow. Go Crew!

    I'm not a big Apple guy, but he was definitely an innovator, and it is sad when anyone passes away at such a relatively young age.

    What if he has as similar season again next year and helps the team return to the playoffs, then leaves in FA and nets the team compensation draft picks?

    It well could be. I remember hearing stories during Wendy Selig-Prieb's tenure about how she repeatedly tried to get Molitor to come back to the team in some sort of role (coach, front office, etc). Maybe he just wasn't interested then and still isn't now.

    I guess it's for some reason obligatory when this man is brought up to mention this issue, and/or his admitted drug use in his much younger years.

    I really doubt this has much to do with it. Teams honor players that work for other organization's all the time.

    Thanks, I managed to get it working.As far as Vista, I think it's the worst thing Microsoft has ever done. I have a laptop that came with it, and I eventually upgraded to 4 GB of RAM. It was still slow and not good at multitasking. I eventually got so tired of it that I uninstalled Vista and put on an old copy of XP thatI had from a different computer. The laptop now runs lightning task, and I can actually multitask on it. Vista sucks.

    This is something that's been on my mind for a while, and I thought was worth discussing on an off day between playoff games. It seems like Paul Molitor isn't talked about or regarded as much by the Brewers organization these days. Yesterday we saw Robin Yount throw out the first pitch, and it was made a pretty big deal by the team. Yount also appears in the booth frequently throughout the season, appears at team events, etc. Conversely, Paul Molitor is almost like persona non grata. Yount has a statue outside the park, but Molitor hasn't been honored in the same fashion. Heck, Bud Selig received a statue last season, and while I think he deserves one, you would think Molitor would be at the top of the list. Other than having his number retired (which was a no brainer), and having a couple banners with his picture in various places, you wouldn't know "The Ignitor" was such a huge part of this franchise's past. I realize Molitor is a bit of a low key person. Maybe he wants to stay out of the spotlight and doesn't want the attention. I just thinks it's something of a shame that Molitor's legacy hasn't really been as celebrated as Yount's. I get that Yount was a career Brewer, and that Molitor left under rather bitter circumstances. That was nearly 20 years ago at this point, so I would hope that's all water under the bridge by now. I guess I think it would be nice to see Molitor around Miller Park every now and then, and for him to get the same due that Yount has received since Mark Attanasio bought the team.

    I guess my perspective is that the Brewers are running a business, and it's up to them to set their rules and enforce them. I think an hour is ample time to have a couple drinks and food after a game, and then it's reasonable to ask people to leave. If you feel the need to hang out and party longer than that, go to a nearby bar or elsewhere. I do think sending multiple squad cars after a few people is a bit over the top, but I'm guessing there's a reason for those procedures. A few bad apples in the past probably spoiled it for everyone. And the roof being closed was due to MLB, not the Brewers. Email the commissioner's office if you legitimately want to complain.

    Yeah, it will be interesting to see how visible the Brewers fans are on Tuesday night. Sounds like a few people on here will be making the trip down, and I would wager there are probably a decent amount of Wisconsin transplants living down there who will be cheering on the Crew.

    I agree with fondy that it was a largely a pitcher's strike zone (for both teams) the past two games. Anyhow, remembering back to after the first two games of the '08 NLDS, it's kind of nice having the shoe on the other foot.

    Maybe with all the extra attention Milwaukee is getting, they are trying to minimize the chances of someone staying too long and getting "over served", then doing something really stupid? That's the only thing I can think of, and maybe tied to the incident Jofis alluded to above.

    I remember they promised they were upgrading to HD for this season. Of course, that didn't happen. I know someone on this board used to work for their company and talked about what a third rate company they are. Not really interested in investing in modern technology, apparently.

    I really doubt a team like KC is going to be interested in a one year rental like Marcum. They really aren't close to contending yet.

    Really glad to see the same lineup again. Hairston definitely deserves another start with how he played yesterday.

    I read his comments to mean something more like, "These two guys are similar enough hitters that walking one to face the other isn't necessarily the right move." I don't think he was ripping Lucroy's ability or anything like that.
