  1. Bought a blaster box this afternoon on a whim...ended up getting a Harper refractor (/777). Pretty sweet.
  2. I hate to bring this up, but yesterday on the broadcast they mentioned that Gallardo would be in line to pitch the day of the All-Star Game...
  3. Comparing Hart to a guy like Werth is perfect because it could lead to someone overpaying for his services. I get what you are saying, but we have to remember what the owner and GM say publicly and what they're really planning can often be two different things. Anyway, it's probably too early to discuss at this point. The team won't make any significant moves until after the All-Star break, either way.
  4. I just don't see why Davis deserves an automatic spot in the rotation. It's not like his performance this season has been better than any of the five currently starting. If you can trade Bush or Cappy to clear a spot, fine.
  5. Yeah, and what if he has a season like he did in 2009 next year? I just don't trust Hart to keep up this level of production indefinitely. Plus trading him now would clear a big chunk of payroll for next season, in addition to all the money they already have coming off the books.
  6. If we could get one or two really good good pitching prospects for Hart at this point, even if they are only in High-A at this point; I think you have to do it. If Prince is dealt we can hopefully get guys who are much closer to MLB.
  7. Eh, you have to take everything the owner says on TV with a grain of salt. It's not like he can go on TV and say, "We're going to have a massive fire sale." I don't think still considering being buyers is completely out of line, though. The team is in 3rd, place, 8.5 games back, still with time and opportunity to make up quite a bit of ground before the All-Star break. I am guessing Fielder will not be dealt this summer, simply due to a lack of viable buyers willing to give up enough value.
  8. Going back to my comments earlier, I don't really want to see Lawrie traded, as I think he has a definite future as a solid infielder for the Crew. But if you can get a high upside young pitcher with #1/2 type potential, I think you have to at least look at it. And as far as Halladay, I really don't believe him coming to the Brewers was ever a realistic possibility. There were just too many red flags with his NTC, ability to leave before this season, and the fact that the Blue Jays wanted too much from teams during the season. It just wasn't going to happen.
  9. Kind of disappointing to hear as Michael Scott is one of my favorite characters on TV. I don't know how I'd feel about the showing going on without him. I'd be interested to see how it would play out, but it just wouldn't be the same.
  10. Stopped by the US Cellular store finally today, and they will let me buy a new phone early. Looking at a Blackberry Tour. Anyone have this phone? It seems like it would be a nice step up from my Moto.
  11. Well, Haudricourt was on the D-List last week and was asked about Capuano. He guessed that Capuano "may not pitch again in a Brewers uniform." It may just have been speculation; but I woudl think something has to be up. And yeah, sending Braddock down right now would be a travesty. Braddock, Loe, and Axford have saved the bullpen and possibly the season.
  12. Heard Jeff Isom was predicting Jeffress could be pitching at Miller Park before the end of the season. That might be a tad optimistic, but it's nice to hear some positive news on a Brewers pitching prospect for a change.
  13. I think either way, Capuano isn't the odd man out. Something is up. Either he is hurt and they haven't bothered to put him on the DL, or he is getting traded.
  14. Braun's athleticism would be wasted at first. I still think he will grow into a pretty good outfielder as he matures as a player. I think McGehee is the logical choice for an in-house solution, assuming he continues hitting.
  15. The browser gives me an error page. I'm using Firefox. I'll make note of it the next time I see it and post in this thread.
  16. If you trade Lawrie now you need to get at least one high upside prospect pitcher, or no deal.
  17. It would be nice if Narveson could reduce that 12.00+ 1st inning ERA that he has going this season.
  18. I hope that Melvin doesn't stick to that if someone gives him a "blown away" kind of trade away. Also interesting to hear that Fielder and Boras shot down the extension talks. Hopefully that will quell fan discontent when he is eventually gone.
  19. Anyone else been having this problem? It's been happening to me the last couple days where I'll click a link in the forum, and it just doesn't load at all.
  20. They offered him a one year deal last year, which he turned down (thinking he could get a longer deal). This is basically just a "fill a gaping hole" type trade for the Mariners at this point.
  21. Well, went through about 22 regular packs and 5 jumbo packs. Had some cool things, including a Strasburg (just the regular card with the imprinted auto), a Dusty Coleman autographed card, and a blue bordered Brent Dlugach card (first blue bordered one I had seen). Nice to finally get a Strasburg.
  22. As an aside, while I haven't heard this about Omega supplements, I have heard that flax seed oil (another popular supplement) can have negative effects for men.
  23. I was definitely saying before the season that I thought the Cubs were overrated and would be this bad. I just did not think the meltdown would be this good.
  24. Given how we've heard absolutely nothing whatsoever about the negotiations with Fielder/Boras, that seems like a pipe dream at this point. I hope Attanasio isn't deluding himself.
  25. Even though we're not seeing Lee or Hernandez in this series, Seattle's next two starters are not bad. Would be nice to see a win tonight and keep the winning streak going.
