  1. According to MLB Trade Rumors, Lackey took a physical with the Red Sox this morning, so he's probably close to signing there. Huge move for Boston, and of course now you have to speculate on if the Yankees will try to make a move to match, like trading for Halladay.
  2. Sounds like he may not even sign anywhere for a few months, according to his agent. He must still be rehabbing.
  3. Appears to now be official that Counsell has re-signed, according to Tyler Barnes on Twitter.
  4. MLB Trade Rumors has a blurb up saying a few teams have interest and that Joe Torre and his staff really like Wang. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up there, since the Dodgers need pitching. Then again, if they can't spend any money, it might be tough.
  5. I just want him to succeed because, you know...we need good, young, cheap pitching and all that. Hopefully this time off has let him get through his issues and he'll be coming back with a mind on proving himself as quickly as possible. I hope the Brewers consider fast tracking him to the Majors in whatever way possible.
  6. Got a new desktop PC on Friday...the old one was starting to run pretty slow and a couple fans in it were dying, plus it was over six years old. Really liking the increase in speed so far, and Windows 7 seems pretty good (so far).
  7. Gallardo is under team control for three more season after 2010 (unless the salary webpage on this site is wrong). Probably a bit early to worry about a contract extension with such a young pitcher. It will be interesting to see in January how the rumored extension talks with Prince go.
  8. I admit, part of me just wants him back for the song. It's awesome, IMHO.
  9. If there's something specifically in your contract saying you'll abide by that, then I suppose so.
  10. I wouldn't say that line "stinks" given he only had about 140 ABs. I'm not sure Gerut is a much better option than him.
  11. Has there been any talk of bringing back "Cat" at all since the season ended? I thought he was a pretty decent pickup and played pretty well for the Brewers. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in a bench role. I'm not sure if they have room though with Gerut apparently coming back, and the addition of Heether.
  12. Oh yeah, I forgot all about the thing with Prince. That was quite a scene. Still wouldn't mind Melvin inquiring abouth im. I doubt they have much left in their budget to add to the bullpen, though.
  13. Wang isn't going to sign for a minor league contract. Plenty of other teams will be interested in him. I doubt he's itching to come to Milwaukee either. I'm sure he'll come on with some bigger market team.
  14. Of course, the downside is that signing Counsell is the best news we've gotten this offseason. I think that's quite a bit of an overstatement right there.
  15. I think that rumor is insane. I can't see why Philly would possibly look to deal Lee in order to take on Halladay. Not after how Lee pitched for them this past season.
  16. I'd be interested, but so will a lot of other teams. I would guess he wouldn't have much interest in playing in Milwaukee.
  17. I want him back primarily because I don't trust Weeks to play a full season after having been injured for so long.
  18. I agree trying him as a starter was a mistake. I don't blame Macha for that, as he was basically up against the wall with no other viable options. If they had just left him alone in the bullpen, I think he would have had a more successful season.
  19. I was also in the People's Republic today, and I would be ashamed to be a member of the local government right now. It was one of the more stressful drives I've had in a long time, and I drive all over the place for my job.
  20. Pam is hot, Erin is cute. There, I said it!
  21. Heh, I notice one person specifically he did not thank in that Tweet. I liked him, but they had to clear some salary room, so the decision is understandable. I hope he gets to be an integral part of some other team's bullpen (hopefully not in the NL Central).
  22. He becomes a free agent, per Adam McCalvy.
  23. I just hope they haven't outbid themselves to $5 million per season or something.
  24. Yes, and I think Heyman's article reflects that the national perception of the Brewers winter meeting moves has been more positive than that of the fans locally.
  25. This makes the Zahn signing look bad. Yes, that should be in blue.
