  1. I guess we should start a Gofundme for this!
  2. My wife and I are taking our seven year old to it this year. He's not a huge baseball fan (yet...though he has played tee ball the past couple summers), but hoping there's enough there for him to enjoy. Don't really care about autographs personally, though it would be cool if he could get one or two.
  3. If American Family wanted to generate some good will buzz, they could call it "AmFam Field at Miller Park", or something like that. My guess is their executives couldn't care less about the public backlash on this, though.
  4. Yes. There have been some voters who haven't covered baseball in years. Does the guy who used to cover Olympics baseball back in the '80s or whatever still have a vote?
  5. It happened to me a few weeks ago. My car has automatic headlights, but I must have somehow accidentally hit the button to turn them off. Fortunately, a person I know pulled up next to me, and alerted me that they weren't on. This was in a well lit downtown area, so I hadn't noticed at all.
  6. Here's an anecdote: A couple years ago, our neighborhood was hit with a fairly severe hail storm. Pretty soon, every house in the neighborhood got a new roof. The only folks who didn't get new roofs? Those with American Family Insurance homeowner policies.
  7. Based on what I know of that guy and his profile, I really doubt he has any inside knowledge at all. I'm calling BS on this as well.
  8. Totally random, but as far as TV stations, I remember Brewers games occasionally being on channel 18 out of Milwaukee (Super 18, I think they went by). I really think Mark Attanasio will allow the payroll to get significantly past where we are now, if it makes sense to. This team was one win away from a World Series this past season. Just knowing what we do about him as an owner, I can't imagine how badly he probably wants a ring.
  9. Random news: Jaime Garcia has decided to retire. 32 years old. I'll never forget his debut against the Brewers...made the Crew look pretty foolish.
  10. Definitely didn't expect this news, but it's certainly welcome. Baseball's free agency economics seem to be fairly broken, but good for Stearns to take advantage of the situation.
  11. I've always been shocked there isn't a brewery of some sort attached to the stadium. Seems like a natural fit. I really can't see any other big developments though. Any new bars/restaurants would likely cannibalize what's already on Bluemound.
  12. I like the trade. Nothing really against Keon, but this gives us some more potentially high upside talent in the pipeline, by trading from our position of excess outfielders.
  13. Just let all the statistically great players in and be done wirh it. I'm tired of the idea the Hall is supposed to be the arbiter of our national morality. Plenty of unsavory types are in already. There's no reason for a guy who holds the all time home run record to not be in, among others.
  14. I think it was time to move on from Santana. Nothing against him, but I don't think he had a long term upside for our team. Gamel seems useful, and Zavolas might be another Stearns gem. We'll see.
  15. Seems low risk, and he should be entering his prime. I like it.
  16. Another new logo and color scheme? OK, fine whatever. I will say the logo and colors look much better than the current circus of a color scheme they have. The uniform looks "meh".
  17. You only need to tip once. But I wouldn't add a tip online, and would tip the driver directly instead. This is what I usually do. There is no guarantee your tip will get into the driver's hands otherwise.
  18. That's too bad. To be honest, I haven't listed to Bob & Brian in years, but I always enjoyed Czaban on that show.
  19. Here's one: Sign Christian Yelich to a long term deal. The guy was an MVP this year, is still young, and is a genuine five tool player. He's the kind of piece we can build around for the next decade, like Ryan Braun ten years ago.
  20. I agree with the sentiment from torts. He provides so much value out of the bullpen, I would keep him there.
  21. The offense didn't show up enough in the series, and tonight was when we paid the price. A great season. I just wish the Crew had put up a fight tonight. A very bitter pill to swallow right now.
