  1. Cool story. All I would probably ask for is a picture of myself with the player in question.
  2. If Band of Brothers didn't exist, The Pacific would probably be more highly thought of. It was almost impossible for the second series to live up to the first in expectations and execution. I still thought it was really good, though.
  3. Joan sort of gets a pass after getting served with divorce papers, I guess. I liked the season finale. I think I was expecting something bigger to happen, but it nicely tied up most of the lose ends from this season. I really can't see Don Draper reverting to his old ways, but the suggestion at the end leaves enough intrigue for next season (assuming there is one...or have they confirmed that already?).
  4. I only caught a bit of Vader's match, but he sure looked to be in better shape than the last time he appeared in WWE.
  5. Actually, you're right. I meant Peterson but typed out Kranitz's name for some reason.
  6. Pitching coach would be Rick Kranitz and hitting coach would be Butch Wynegar.
  7. $10 million for a .720 OPS 2B is pretty bad. The team could probably get similar results platooning Eric Farris with some cheap veteran at a much lower cost. Like someone else pointed out, Weeks wasn't signed for his .300 OBP skills. He was signed to be an impact bat like he was in 2010-2011. He really just needs to be benched at this point for a series or two to "clear his head" or whatever else.
  8. Three more, though the 2015 year can be voided if he does not get 600 PA in 2014 or 1200 over 2013-2014 combined, going by what baseball-reference.com says. At a salary of $10-11 million per year, this could end up being a huge albatross contract for the team if Weeks doesn't turn things around.
  9. I'm guessing you had your tickets away not just for swearing, but apparently for jumping the line as well. Sorry, it sounds like you had bad timing and bad luck with your print out tickets...but none of that is really the Brewers' fault.
  10. It reeks of a cover up, but it's MLB, so who knows. I'm usually on board with Selig's decisions, but the way this whole thing has been handled has been pathetic. I know he's not directly involved, but you'd think the commissioner would have stepped in at some point.
  11. It's too bad Weeks has never been able to become the elite player many thought he had the potential to be. He's having a truly awful season. Hopefully he rights himself before next year or he's a big time albatross contract around this team's neck.
  12. I think he did a really good job in his role, actually.
  13. Maybe Bryce Harper. That's probably about it.
  14. From what I've gathered from interviews with Jon Hamm and others, they don't intend to take the series into the 70's, at least too far. Realistically I think we might get one more season and that's probably going to be it.
  15. I wouldn't. If you deal Gallardo, you literally have a completely unknown starting rotation next season. Gallardo would be one of my three off limit players in trade talks, along with Braun and Lucroy.
  16. Nope. I just said in the game thread, but this team isn't winning when they are supposed to right now. If they keep playing this bad over the next week, it's time to look at selling some pieces and maximizing return for Greinke, K-Rod, etc. You're not going to get as much if you wait until the last week in July.
  17. This team really isn't making hay when they need to. If they keep playing this bad over the next week or so, I really hope Melvin starts exploring some moves to sell off pieces (if he isn't already).
  18. Apparently Bush is headed to pitch in Korea: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/06/dave-bush-opts-out-of-contract-to-pitch-in-korea.html
  19. I'm in the chat room now if anyone wants to join in as the Brewers first pick approaches.
  20. I'd be open to seeing a Marcum extension, but it better be heavily discounted.
  21. Pete Rose apparently on Twitter now: @PeteRose_14
  22. Yeah, the game not being on TV tonight really sucks. He wife and I have literally nothing going on this evening so that would have given us something to do. Will probably be a Netflix night for us.
  23. I actually kind of like the Darwin Barney idea. Castro is going to cost a lot more than just Thornburg to acquire.
  24. I was wondering this as well. Haven't heard anything since last night, so I assume he's OK.
  25. Yeah, this has been discussed before. The front page is a turn off to visitors who assume the site is dead because of the very dated story.
