Funny you could easily swap our two guys and it would be probably their “normal” position. Wondering if they went Ebel first to go underslot then got a pleasant surprise that Sawyer was still there and may have to spend some of Ebels money there. Fine by me, get the power early then go pitching.
They aren’t firing on all cylinders at the moment but every team has downswings. Hitting is hard these days. Yea of course it would be nice to have better hitters in spots but that’s every team. Brewers are better off than most so hooray.
I am also really thinking it will be Marchand as I think the other Brewer type targets will be gone by then, unless the Brewers really zag with the smaller pool this year and go with an underslot pitcher or something.
Assuming with the double header and maybe some lefties before the break that this is more Lara getting a taste than a permanent move up, but I hope he makes it tough to be sent back down.
He would cost 6 million next year as the Cardinals are paying the rest, which makes it a more interesting rental option. But as you said I don't think the Dbacks will be selling unless they have a horrendous July.
Vaughn is going to get 10-12 mil in arbitration and if Bauers keeps it up he would get 10 easily. If Hearn got 2/29, Bauers can get 2/20 no doubt and probably more like 2/24 would be my guess. I do love Vaughn but I don't think it's a given the Brewers will spend that much on him next year as a weakside platoon player. I would rather give Bauers that 10-12 mil and have Adams be the righty off the bench or sign a cheap lefty killer.
MLB Pipeline was updated. Lara jumped up 20 spots to 69, Adamczewski is on the list now at 97, Jett dropped into the 80s are the notable Brewer changes.

This was a great listen! He addresses the big concerns about him with excellent answers. In a nutshell, the Brewers want him testing the limits of his swing. Highly recommend listening for more than just that in his answers. He also gets into having different tools or essentially adjustments and to no surprise Adamczewski is one who really dwells on that.
Koenig pitched back to back days Saturday and Sunday so I think his return is imminent. And while his velocity isn't quite where it was from last year, he had some pitches hit 95 both days.
With Bauers a free agent next year and I’m in doubt they pay Vaughn 10 plus mil in arbitration, so Adams seems an unlikely trade chip to me. Would think that would be Burke on the block instead if they go that route since there’s much more left handed power in the system.
Hardin has a much higher ceiling than Crow. Whether that will translate right now who knows, but Hardin has a ceiling that rivals any pitcher in the system imo.
