  1. Take it for what it's worth, but I heard from a very good source that two guys they are looking at for the backup PG job are Luther Head and Travis Diener. TD was already mentioned by the local media, but I hadn't heard Head's name before.
  2. Not in the least. I've grown to dislike their arrogance quite a bit. Also, I dislike so many of their key players from my EPL allegiance that it's hard to root for them. Seeing them, and Mexico get put to the sword today helped ease my pain a bit. Especially Mexico.
  3. Not terribly rare, but I have seen two 5-4-3 triple plays in person. First was against Toronto at County Stadium, the second was last season. Have also seen a balk-off win.
  4. Yawn. If I could muster enough energy to care, I'd be pissed that the Ice Cubs won tonight. I call them the Ice Cubs due to the championship drought and their massive amount of d-bag bandwagon fans.
  5. Cole Hamels has a really, really good, but not quite perfect game going through 6 right now on ESPN.
  6. Is it bad that I was cheering for the Uggla double? I can't even get mad anymore, it's so laughable.
  7. OnMilwaukee.com's village idiot Dave Begel has chimed in on the World Cup. http://onmilwaukee.com/sports/articles/begelworldcup.html I'll hang up and listen.
  8. England beats Mexico 3-1 in a friendly at Wembley. Mexico created a bunch of chances and bossed the play for a good portion of the match. England can be had at the back, their center backs looked slow, and Johnson gets caught forward on the right a bunch. The US can create opportunities with their speed, just a matter of converting them.
  9. Word. Just to kinda test the limits of what it will take for any sort of change to be made.
  10. The Reds have raised the bar today in spectacular bullpen implosions. 6 run lead in the bottom of the 9th, Braves get 3. Reds bring in Cordero, who gives up a walk-off GS. Macha's Men have something to strive for.
  11. That is so good. Well done Diskono!
  12. Ugh, Forlan. He scored both goals of the semifinal tie, including the decisive away goal against Liverpool. Completely freaking unmarked, too. It was a miserable enough season for Liverpool, and that crushed any and all hope for my Reds. He's exactly the kind of goal poacher/finisher the US needs to pair up top with Altidore.
  13. I don't disagree with the bunt. It's not like Escobar is lighting the world on fire. I think the odds of him beating out a bunt are about the same as him getting a hit.
  14. Don't count Lou Palsmo out either...
  15. I don't know if its fair to say it "fell through." He was on a fixed loan deal, and had to come back for MLS play. He did quite well at Everton, made a lot of things happen in their midfield, and scored a few goals. They loved him on Merseyside. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a push for a transfer out there after the WC. Also, Drogba for the Golden Boot? I fancy him more as a Gold Medal winning diver.
  16. I'm 1-4 so far this year. And I still have tickets to 9 games. Joy.
  17. You know the scene in Caddyshack when Bill Murray is playing with the C4 and saying "I have to laugh" crazily? Yeah, I'm about there.
  18. Now we have Phillips TRYING to make an out and he can't get one over. What have I done to deserve a team like this?
  19. Fantastic piece of hitting. Need more of that from the rest of the boys.
