  2. If they blow this I am done with this team. I'll buy mlbtv and be a Twins fan.
  3. That'll be the ballgame. And with our offense, I'm not overreacting.

  6. Prince Fielder. His WGIDPIBSP* is almost 1.000 *Will Ground Into Double Play In Big Situations Percentage
  7. This team will not advance in the playoffs, if God-willing they hold on. But I'm not gonna go off on the mental toughness or the managing, or any of that. The main reason I see them losing is the bullpen. I just can't see the bullpen other than Torres being able to buckle down and hold a lead.
  8. I can't believe this thread has gone on without a mention of the jimmy arm... http://blogs.suns.com/files/Pictures/blog_festivus.jpg
  9. I hate Phil Cuzzi. There, it's not all Ned bashing. But to suggest he handled that 8th inning remotely well is laughable.
  10. AND NOOOOW HE GOES TO THE RIGHTY. What's that saying about pulling, a head, and one's ass?
  11. Missed the tag, good call. I'm less concerned about the split than going down 6 games with under 30 to play.
  12. The last few times I was up there I parked in the BW3's lot for $10, got some wings and beer, and walked 3 or 4 blocks to Lambeau.
  13. I hear you. I have spent many, many moments dreaming about what it will be like to clinch. But that also leads to my problem. Maybe it's just not close enough yet, but the Wild Card isn't exciting me at all. I think it's because I have waited so long to see them win something, not be the best second place team. I'll be happy to make the playoffs, but a good portion of me will still be disappointed we lost the division. Like I said, it might change as we get farther into September, but right now the WC doesn't really do it for me. Anyone else feel like this?
  14. OH MAN. THANK YOU. I loathe that video. Loathe it. Not only is it blatant, it is really, really poorly done. I didn't think it was possible to be worse than the animated Bernie Brewer hitting exploding dingers video, but man oh man did they top it.
  15. If you watch the side angle of his HR, he kept his hands nice and quiet (finally). Smooth, effortless swing, not the choppy wrists that cause him to pop up a lot. Hopefully this continues, his bat speed his fine, he doesn't need to speed up his hands.
  16. A petit dejuner. "I'll take uh... Ape tit for $200"
  17. Mine is for the makeshift sign above the LF bleachers at County Stadium after the trade that sent Greg Vaughn to the Padres for Marc, Bryce Florie, and Ron Villone. Truly a banner day in the 90's.
  18. Props to: Ray Durham for a textbook form tackle. JJ Hardy for going off. Never seen that before. Ryan Braun for his comments after the game. Fair play, sir. Anti-Props to: Prince Fielder. Dude's gonna have a stroke on the field if he doesn't calm down. Manny Parra for giving up 6 runs. Ned Yost for being a horses rear end again after the game. He gave a completely legitimate answer, and could have left it at that. But no he has to get on the media again. NED! HE HAS TO ASK THE QUESTION, IT'S HIS JOB!
  19. 1. Hall 2. Hart 3. Braun 4. Gallardo 5. Kapler
  20. Two letters- CC. He can't handle not being the guy. I know there are no numbers to prove this, but it's just a gut feeling. I don't think he's had a great start since the trade. Or he's spent too much time on his hitting.

  22. @ Atlanta (3) 1-2 @ Cincinnati (3) 1-2 Washington (4) 2-2 @ San Diego (3) 1-2 @ Los Angeles (3) 1-2 Houston (3) 2-1 Pittsburgh (3) 2-1 @ St. Louis (2) 0-2 @ Pittsburgh (3) 1-2 11-16. The Annual August plunge.
  23. I fear we are seeing the return of "Nervous Ned" from last year. They fight back, the pressure builds, and his team comes out tense for the gazillionth time. I don't know how anyone can watch their swings the past 4 days and say they were loose. Then, when he knows he's overmatched he sends someone out to throw at a guy. I had a similar feeling today, as I did last September in the beanball war game. Don't jerk me around to finish a game or two out of the playoffs. Get hot and make him look like a genius or tank so he gets canned.
  24. I am done with them for the weekend. I need a sabbatical. Now for my parting vents. 1) Who gives a you know what about who sold their tickets to who, and how Cubs fans act? SOUR GRAPES. Here's an answer to shut them up- WIN A FREAKING GAME. It's idiotic and makes us sound like a whiny fanbase. "But well, something NEEDS to be done about this!" WIN. WIN WIN WIN WIN. Turn the place into what PNC was for us. 2) Now pitchers cant run bases because it's 80 degrees out? Really Ned? I got an idea, lets put the hit and run on with your catcher on first and the pitcher up. What's next, a pitching platoon? Oh, wait... 3) I want a job with the security of Brewers hitting coach. I liken the Brewers to a basketball team that shoots a lot of three pointers. They're amazing on the nights they hit em, but are putrid to watch when they're not. That's no way to have your offense structured, reyling solely on the longball. 4) The Brewers are the biggest bunch of headcases I've seen. From Turnbow, on to Gagne, Mota, Weeks, Fielder, on and on and on. It's ridiculous. But they're coddled by their manager, so who needs to be tough when big bad Ned can protect you from blame or the evil media. 4.5) I really hope they don't waste their money going after Sheets. Throw the bank at CC. No sense keeping a guy who can't handle being 1a, and pitches like crap after that. What a mental midget. The spotlight's not all on him anymore and he can't handle it. Why I put myself through this every year, I don't know. It's disgusting to collapse EVERY YEAR at this time. And there's a common denominator in that, and he's wearing #3 in the home dugout.
  25. We better cozy up to the idea of trying to be second best. They're screwed when it comes to the Central. I hate the idea of hoping for the wild card, but that's all we got.
