  1. 2019 Brewers Predictions Win-Loss Record: 87-75 No Postseason All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich Starting Pitcher of the Year: Chacin Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Arcia Most Disappointing Player: Aguilar

  3. FWIW.... TV listings say 7 PM Friday on FS1, 3 PM Saturday on FOX. That crowd on Friday should be wild.
  4. Because most haven't been there before. The crowd that comes to MKE rarely overlaps with the regulars at Wrigley.
  5. Some good friends of mine had a similar situation. She gave birth, and their son lived for a few hours before passing away. It's a terrible tragedy to have a young life cut short.
  6. I won't pay to go to another game this year. I'll go with free tickets, but spending money on this team doesn't make a lot of sense. Frankly, I don't really enjoy going anymore because of the crowd. We all have made fun of the drunks who show up at Wrigley, but MP has become just as bad. I got hit with a full, open beer can standing in line to get in on Saturday that some idiot tried throwing at his friend (who was too drunk to stand). I don't have the patience to put up with those people to watch a lousy team.
  7. Unfortunately, I think he is because of the injuries. I'm with you though. I can't stand his approach to the game. I hate the bunt fetish. I hate how reckless he is with a runner on third with less than two out. I hate that he doesn't trust his guys to find a hole with the infield in. I really hate that professional baseball players aren't allowed to decide when they try to score from third, regardless of how dead to rights they'll be. This team has no edge, and frankly they haven't since Prince left.
  8. As bad as the umps were, Rickie is worse. Shoulda been tied, and heading to the bottom of the 9th. Can't get too upset about the call. Close enough.
  9. Field mic picked up the exchange... sounded like Darling dropped the f-bomb yelling back at the dugout. Love those MLB umps.
  10. Happy for JJ. I'll always root for the guy... unless he becomes a Cardinal.
  11. Anyone else see the walkoff wins tonight and get a bit nostalgic? http://atmlb.com/OVaGxP
  12. I don't use 5 hr energy... except for one situation. Heard this from a friend, and tried it on a weekend up north. Take one before you start drinking. It's like hangover kryptonite. Don't know what's in there, but I felt like a million damn dollars when our tee time came the next morning.
  13. When Atlanta was here last, did Ben get any sort of recognition/ovation? If not, I'd love for the Brewers to honor him at a game next season.
  14. When did the rivalry start? Regardless, they had planned on renewing, but MU had the chance to play OSU on the carrier and took it. That was the last non-conference slot they had available due to Maui and the BE-SEC Challenge against Florida. Not sure if they'll renew next season or not... I'm sure MU's scheduling needs will change when the Big East gets weakened in the coming years.
  15. I disagree with this line of thinking. Blow a lead in the 7th, you have either 6 or 9 outs to get it back. Lose in the 9th, you either have 3 outs or got walked off. Not a huge point of contention, but I'd rather have outs to work with. So if the pen is gonna stink, they need to stink earlier in the game.

  17. Let's see... -The doubleheader when Woodard tossed a gem, then they turned the 5-4-3 triple play. Was in the first row, behind the Jays dugout. -Don't know why, but I remember Jose Mesa throwing a pitch onto the screen on Labor Day one year. Tying run scored, and the Brewers walked it off. -Last game at County Stadium, for sure. -The day after Moeller's cycle. Brewers were down 9-0, came back. Billy cleared the bases with a double in the 8th, then won it in the 10th with a squeeze bunt. -Benny's 18 K game. LF bleachers that day. -Branyan's 2 HR Opening Day. -Kapler breaking up Chris Young's perfecto in the 8th. -Braunie's Grand Slam against the Pirates in September 08. -Both NLDS games in 08. Incredible atmosphere. -Two years in a row, they walked it off on my birthday. Corey's HR off of Santana in 10, Lucroy's squeeze last year. -Prince's bomb celebration, preceded by another 5-4-3 triple play. -Game 2 NLDS in '11... when they put up 5 in the 6th. Noise was deafening... and got louder with each hit. -Game 5. I was so nervous in the 8th and 9th, I felt sick. Then the walkoff... nothing has come close.
  18. So psyched they played for one run in the late innings. Twice. With THAT bullpen. Just brilliant.
  19. His bat has been a pleasant surprise, but what I love about Maldonado is the way he handles himself. Rookie catchers can be in a tough spot with veteran pitchers, but he is confident and looks like he belongs back there. Big fan of his play so far, he's sure given Melvin and co. something to think about with Kottaras next week.
  20. Sandy Guerrero thinks this guy gives up a ton of homers.
