  1. "I don't know what's a good contributor to your site but it's not my fault half your users are inbreds or *******. I learned that early on and limited my contact to the ones who weren't so....slow we'll say. So if you put me on watch because I outwitted and debated your below average stock base, I'm sorry. I stopped communicating with them and I think my contacts with the well bred users was better so to speak. Anyways, I'll enjoy the cat and mouse game as I'm sure yo will too in figuring out what my other account is and how to ban it. But, outwitting you doesn't look to pose much of a challenge. You reak of pork! Good luck..." I just felt it was necessary to share this particular quote from BraunsBoyfriend, in case we are ever questioned as to why we ban the kind of people that we do. And if you feel like you're all 3133+ by using anonymous proxies to mingle with us "inbreds or *******" again, it's not rocket science to do a reverse dns or a google search on our end. I think our "below average stock base" is up to the task.
  2. [ The same is true in my mind about trading a copy of a MLB or NFL or NBA game. As long as there is no money changing hands, and the only thing that goes between the two trading parties is the CD, that really isn't a problem. ] How is it different from offering music online for people to download without paying for it?
  3. [ Ugh Mench... booo! ] Do you really disagree with the choice?
  4. [ Well if they would call up Parra, that likely means it's for bullpen help and that means the rumor that Parra can't warm up that fast so he couldn't come out of the pen appears to be false. ] He could very well be a rotation option or a long-reliever option.
  5. Didn't you end up giving up only like 3 walks?
  6. A recap would be very much appreciated.
  7. You guys did a great job tonight, I thought. Not very many errors, and a lot of line drives. They're obviously playing in the league to compensate for other areas in their lives that they're lacking. On the plus side, they weren't as obnoxious as they had been in the past... Hopefully next year the trend will continue.
  8. It'll be interesting to see how things are ranked when we get all the functionality (site, forum) under one roof. But 3$ an hour??... I quit.
  9. Jenkins and Capellan for Hughes?... Would they do it? I sure as heck would.
  10. [ Otsuka is a righty. ] His splits aren't very different vs. lefties or righties. Go get 'em doug.
  11. There's still a few scabs in the league....
  12. [ And when we were on that bad stretch of baseball, it seemed like you and me were the only people on here telling people to calm down. ] I was there on the law of averages train as well... I was almost ready to hand out these: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/phearinc/Lithium.gif

  14. [ I really think Vargas should have similar trade value to what Jason Jennings had when he was traded to the astros ] Jennings is a career 4.34 ERA pitcher (away from Coors Field). Vargas is a career 4.84 ERA pitcher.... I'd take Jennings in a heartbeat over Vargas.
  15. Cappy's going Sunday if he's ready, yes. I believe I heard that on the TV broadcast last night.
  16. [ Vargas to Royals for Joakim Soria (RHP) or Jimmy Gobble(LHP). I've been impressed with Soria this year, but Gobble is more proven and could be a nice situational lefty. The Royals obviously are looking for starters (John Thompson?). Then we can have Yo or Villy take the 5 spot and have the other as an injury replacement/ long reliever. ] This kind of trade is the opposite direction of the way the Royals would want to go, both age-wise and salary-wise. It's true that they could use more starting pitching, but if they're looking to be sellers, they could do better than Vargas.
  17. Pat Hughes is awesome. He's very professional, level-headed, and describes the game is well. I refuse to hate him just because he calls games for the Cubs.
  18. I want the Cubs & Cards to be sellers... Prospects only have a chance to be decent MLB players, whereas vets are already there. Plus, buyers = free agents = comp picks, so it also strengthens the farm system.
  19. According to reports I've heard on XM this morning, Buehrle is no longer available. Ken Williams says he's close to an extension.
  20. Graffy's got 5 career innings in left field. Now, I don't think that he'd be incapable of playing LF, but I think there'd be a little bit of learning on the job which could lead to some awkwardness.

  23. If you're getting the games for free, you're not purchasing games off MLB.TV, and that's a potential revenue loss. The bottom line is that if it's illegal, I can't allow it to be promoted here, no matter how minimal the risk is. If someone wants to do a trading service on their own time and their own site, it's at their own risk. Personally, I don't see MLB doing much about it, but I'm in no position to tick off the powers that be...
  24. This has do be doing wonders for Jones's morale.
