  1. Put itching powder in their uniforms.
  2. Alcides Escobar, Hernan Iribarren, and Lou Palmisano should all be moving up and close to ready. Palmisano will be an interesting case, given the fact that he's a catcher.
  3. Good for you, Matt. I hope everything works out for the best.
  4. I'm not going to go into my admiration of the Jews, because it will cross into both religious and political discussion. But just realize, I'm a big fan.
  5. The assumption on the staff's part was that the avatar was anti-semitic. We were trying to be sensitive to Jewish culture and heritage, not the exact opposite as you suggest. And I can't believe you're asking me if we're Nazis, when I _just_ mentioned I've banned people for making obvious anti-semitic responses before... not to mention that members of our staff are of Jewish heritage. And the brettac avatar is clearly a tongue-in-cheek reference... Do you really think he's promoting facism? I'll restore your avatar since we made a mistake on this one.
  6. Trips to the DL need to be accompanied by medical documentation. I'm not saying it's terribly difficult to get medical documentation, but you can't just put a guy on the DL with a "sore right forearm" without something somewhat close to the ailment actually being there.
  7. The condescending remarks in this thread need to end. Now.
  8. You've got to be kidding me. Brewerfan.net removes your avatar that says "jewboys", and now we're anti-semitic? I've banned people for making anti-jewish comments before, so before you make your blanket accusation in public, maybe you should have just responded to the private message to you that had already been sent by another staff member.
  9. EzBoard had massive amounts of slowness as well at times... I think overall the speed seems to be about the same.
  10. Upon hearing this news, I almost wasn't able to muster up the strength to come to work today.
  11. Sorry to be a stickler, but topics relating solely to a particular game should go in the IGT... Please copy and paste your post into there if you wish to discuss....
  12. The August who-cleared and who didn't clear waivers stuff should be taken with a grain of salt... The only people who know who has cleared waivers are GM's... I remember in the past Doug Melvin coming out and blasting the media for getting these reports consistently wrong. With that said, I think there's a chance Piazza might have cleared given his price tag and relative lack of productivity.
  13. I think Joe Morgan should just marry Jose Reyes and get it over with.
  14. I wasn't implying that he was doing it simply to appease the fans... I'm sorry if it came across that way. I was comparing your opinion with the bullpen overworked to those of probably the majority of other fans who think his hook isn't quick enough. I agree with you that our bullpen, along with probably everyone in baseball, is overworked. I'm all for riding the starters when the opportunity presents himself, but Suppan already let one run in, threw a wild pitch, and had two more runners on base... They had one more lefty to get out and then the top of the order coming up. Given the fact that Yost talked to Soup before he yanked him makes me belief even Jeff thought he didn't have anything left in the tank, for whatever reason. Yeah, I do agree with you that the Brewers needs starters who are able to go deep into the game... part of the problem is that Sheets isn't in the rotation right now, and starters who on paper just about everyone thought would take the club deep into games just hasn't been getting the job done... I don't think it's a function of Yost's management.
  15. Kerry Wood tripped on the foul line after his triumphant return and tore his ACL. Welcome aboard, marquettefan.
  16. Bad mood? About today?? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Yeah, I notice that the boo-birds come out for ANY former Brewer.... I wonder if even Lyle Overbay would be immune from it. I think it's a function of more casual fans coming to the games and just booing whenever they get the opportunity because it's "fun". Milwaukee fans have a long way to go until they reach the general class level of St. Louis fans.... I think that will come with more consistent winning.
  17. I will guarantee you that if Suppan gave up a 3-spot in the inning and the Brewers blew the game, you would have had people calling for Yost's head as well. Once Yost made that decision to pull Soup, he played the bullpen out the best he could have.
  18. Did you think Yost should have just let Villanueva continue to implode? Has Linebrink ever been more than a 1 inning guy? Should Yost have run Shouse out there to face Werth (RHP), Coste (RHP), PH for pitcher (RHP), Rollins (switch hitter), Iguchi (RHP)?... after pitching the previous 2 games? I don't know... I'm on the fence as to whether Soup should have been yanked, but he gave up 3 singles and a wild pitch. It doesn't instill me with confidence. To me, the bullpen was actually well managed today, despite the results.
  19. If you want to play passive-aggressive games, then I suggest you take a break.
  20. The Matt Wise thread is negative... The 2007 Brewers = 1995 Packers thread is negative... and those are just on the first page of the major league forum.

  22. I'm going to re-open this thread as I think the original poster makes some interesting points, but if the condescension in the replies continues, it's going to be re-locked.
  23. Until you stop exaggerating about all negativity being in one thread, I don't think we're going to see eye to eye.

  25. Braun could have broken his arm.
