  1. That was a nice AB from Lockridge to get the RBI
  2. I dunno. Seems like Sproat could have used coach/catcher finding ways to slow things down that half inning.
  3. I don't know... wouldn't be shocked to see Uribe unavailable and headed to the IL. Hope I'm wrong.
  4. Ah it's an "Oh shoot no... wait, YES!" play.
  5. Wife just looked up at Lockridge's RBI single scoring Hamilton and said "Who are these guys again?"
  6. True, but one move fits what the Brewers have been doing for 20 years. The other doesn't. I personally gave up on being bothered by Brewers personnel decisions right around when Fielder left but I'm not remotely surprised that the reaction to Durbin going out was more intense than Freddy going out. We're used to losing guys like Freddy. We're not used to losing undervalued hustle guys with years of control and a cheap contract. That said, I get the Durbin move. Decent chance his value was as high as it was ever going to be on the trade market.
  7. He's got a bit. 50 rating for power. Thing I don't get is that he's probably not ready right away and to be blunt middle infield depth 6+ months out doesn't seem like a big need given Turang and Made and/or Pratt on track for debuts in 2027 or 2028.
  8. I will not give in to being underwhelmed by the return. I will not give in to being underwhelmed by the return. I will not give in to being underwhelmed by the return. I will not give in to being underwhelmed by the return. I will no.... dammit.
  9. Well.... ok, fine. Jesus I hate it when Jack Stern detonates my very strongly held opinions.
  10. Honestly, they probably wouldn't spend the $, at least not right away. They could possibly add $ at the deadline if they're competitive, but I doubt they'd run out and spend the relatively modest savings they'd get by dealing Peralta.
  11. It will not. I mean, they haven't really added payroll in a few years now and Attanasio knows there's a lock out coming and a disruption in revenue streams. Never really had any hope they'd make any additions to payroll, which really only left the possibility of trades, likely with major league assets leaving the organization.
  12. The first one is probably the one I need to focus on. I was pissed at the Priester deal, mostly because of the comp pick and the inclusion of Yophery, whom I loved after watching him at High A, but it's hard to argue now.
  13. Brewcrewball denizen from waaay back.  FKA Ted Simmons Speed Camp.

Has somehow morphed from generally a pessimistic fan into an optimistic one.  Mostly, I think, because I'm just tired of all the negativity.  Come the playoffs, all bets are off though. :)

  14. This is just ONE of the reasons why I love it here. You guys are awesome.
  15. Tying the report to speculation about Peralta getting dealt certainly robs it of credibility. I completely agree that the Brewers could certainly afford to open the year with their current payroll or even increase it... but I wouldn't be shocked at all if they found a way to reduce payroll prior to the start of the season. Attanasio is, I'm sure, planning for the 2027 work stoppage.
  16. Have to say I agree. It would have to be a massive haul for it to make any sense prior to the all-star break.
