  1. Yes, this is pretty much the exact situation we have with our normal season seats. Middle of the last row in front of the press box. Easy to climb in and out of seats and the people who sit in our row that don't want to climb either exit left of us or right of us since we are in the middle, so usually not bothered by that as well. They are generally pretty strict throughout the year about allowing any "loitering" in that area. They might let someone stand there for a few outs but then will eventually ask them if they have seats in the area and if they don't they ask them to move along. We kind of lucked into those seats. We had season seats at County stadium and either we missed communication about picking seats for Miller Park or they didn't send it to us for some reason. So when I called the ticket office they said there were limited seats left in the section we wanted. All that was left was the last row. We took them and could not be happier. Would never change them.
  2. Our 20 game pack is in section 217. The postseason strip we got were in section 220. So, same general area in front of the press box, but just to the 3rd base side of home plate instead of the 1st base side. I wasn't upset. Again, longevity comes into play as well. We have been SSH for 25 straight years. What's odd is that 2 times ago when they did post season tickets and the Brewers did not make it (not last year, but the time before that - 2015? 2014?), we would have been basically in our exact seats. I think last year we would have been a section over and a row or two closer. It almost seems like they are trying to give "better" seats because our normal seats are row 10 and the strip they gave us was row 7, but on the opposite side of home plate. I much rather sit in row 10 in any section from 216-221. It's the last row. Easy in, easy out, and no one sitting behind you.
  3. Well, I certainly don't want to start using WWE as the standard as to what acceptable on field behavior should be for baseball (or any other actual sport). I don't think there is any excuse for what Machado did (either crotch grab or trying to injure another player), but I see no purpose or good coming from being brought down to his level and trying to retaliate in some future game. I would much rather see the players union and the owners agree that there needs to be much bigger penalties for these types of on field activities.
  4. Maybe he’ll think a bit longer before trying to roll over somebody’s ankle like a middle school child am having a tantrum. Could be wrong, but I don't think there is very strong evidence that shows throwing at a player is very effective at changing their behavior. I think what is more likely to happen is that the player will charge the mound. The benches will clear. Players from both teams will be thrown out of the game and risk of a possible injury to one of our players. Suspensions will occur, not just for them, but for our pitcher and possibly others on our team. The opposing team will have a man on first base. Machado will continue to act like a punk. [sarcasm]Awesome![/sarcasm]
  5. I question whether it would really act as a "deterrent" and I would prefer to see professional ballplayers act differently than kids on a playground. I'm more upset that MLB did not review that video and hand down a fine and/or suspension to Machado. Suspend a guy for a playoff or WS game. I think that would be a fairly good deterrent going forward for others that feel the need to act in that manner.
  6. Strongly agree. Bat flips and general excitement are one thing. Vulgar gestures like that toward what could be children in the crowd is a whole new thing and not ok. This is right up there with Randy Moss. So what if the crowd boos you? It's in reaction to you being a dirty player. I suspect it's going to be someone like Corey Knebel who retaliates as well. I would find it incredibly surprising and weak if we didn't...assuming we get an opportunity next year. Hader won't do it, and really shouldn't. Knebel is a beast, Machado wouldn't want to mess with him...he's the perfect candidates in my opinion. Or else maybe Burnes toward the tail-end of his start. And this will accomplish what?
  7. That stuff doesn't carry over game to game. That's not how baseball works. Ryu and Buehler are very talented starters. If the Dodgers were starting Hill in one of these games, I'd like the Brewers chances a lot more. You make a statement about not feeling good about today's games based on past performance and then tell me that stuff doesn't carry over game to game when I do the same thing. Recent results are definitely useful indicators. You can certainly feel pessimistic about the Brewers chances, but be fair in your reasoning for being so. I think he is just saying that larger sample sizes tend to be more useful than small sample sizes in terms of indicating future results.
  8. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/tickets/season-tickets/holders#seating Scroll down the page a bit (or click on seating and pricing at the top under the SSH information) and it gives all the SSH prices for the regular season along with the percentage discount.
  9. I get the whole getting loud and trying to help the players feed off that energy. However, there always seem to be those one or two fans in each section that believe the crowd should be loud all the time. There are situations where that really does not make sense. At game 2, in the 7th inning, the Brewers started the inning up 3-0. It then became 3-1 and then they walked in a run to put the score at 3-2. Throughout this whole agonizing series of events there was one clown in our section constantly on his feet trying to urge every one to stand up and be loud. He continued to shout over and over "Let's go Brewers!" and was getting irritated that other's were not following along. I get it when your team is in that situation and you have 2 strikes on the batter. Then yeah, get on your feet and try to "will" that 3rd strike, but this guy was up and shouting regardless of the situation. It didn't matter if the count was 2-0 or 3-1, it was constant. Thankfully, the majority of the people in our section ignored him.
  10. If this were the case, I would not renew my 20 game package for the first time after 25 years. That’s surprising to me. Aren’t your strips not necessarily the better seats in whatever sections they give you? Wouldn’t you rather be able to choose better seats? I could understand if you could just get the same seats you have all year, but if you are getting different seats for the postseason I’d rather be able to choose where I sit. Because of the length of my tenure as a SSH, my seats are pretty close to my usual seats. This is a big reason why I continued to renew every year, even in the bad years. If my tenure did not mean anything, there would have definitely been years where I would have chosen not to renew. Also the strips are sold at a discount from the individually purchased seats.

  12. Tomorrow is Friday. Start of a weekend. I'm going to go watch the Brewers with my son at Miller Park in a playoff game in October. Life could be a lot worse! Also, I remember being a down in 1982 after the Brewers went down 0-2 to the Angels in a best of 5 ALCS series. That worked out Ok.
  13. Ah, ok, just did a search in my email and saw that. Thanks!
  14. Have those of you that bought ticket strips been charged the final 50% payment yet. I'm still not seeing it on my charge card, thought it was supposed to happen yesterday. My concern is that my charge card recently expired and I received a new one about a month ago (after I committed to buying the ticket strips) and forgot to update it on my account (until just now). My tickets still show as active in my account, so I hope I'm ok.
  15. Ok, maybe I can get on board with this. I just don't think any one professional athelete, or to be more specific, baseball player, is more "clutch" than the another over the long term.
  16. So, are you saying that some .300 hitters consistently get hits year after year at more crucial times than other .300 hitters? There is lots of research and analysis that suggests that this is not true, but ok. I use to be a huge believer in clutch performances and I still do believe that perhaps there are short periods of time when a player can have a stretch of clutch performances (see David Freese - 2011), but I no longer believe that some athletes are consistently more clutch than others, at least not in baseball. The numbers just don't lie.
  17. I think the argument is that "clutch hitting" is not really a thing. If you get a hit with runners in scoring position, that's just coincidence, not "clutch". Also, you can't control the hitters in front of you and if they are getting on base before your AB. So, hit's and walks are more important to look at than RBIs. I’ve heard that argument many times. I play a lot of golf and I can promise you it’s not a coincidence that some players hit the 18th the green in regulation and some don’t. People who say timing of hits are a coincidence haven’t played a lot of competitive sports. It’s really just that since stats can’t quantify “clutch” it’s so oddly dismissed. I think it's dismissed because there is generally not a consistency to most player's "clutch" hitting year over year. Some players have more RBI than other just because of where they hit in the lineup. Also, take Braun last night for example. He could have had a few RBI last night if Cain and Yelich got on base before him. Just because he didn't have any RBI doesn't mean he didn't do his job. I play a lot of golf too. Sometimes I hit the 18th green in regulation, sometimes I don't. I don't feel it has anything to do with being "clutch".
  18. I actually remember reading the opposite. Edit: Here is the actual language. We were both kind of right: Postseason Strips: Any payments from unplayed postseason games included as part of your 2018 Postseason Strip will automatically be refunded to your account and conveniently rolled over to your 2019 Season Tickets. Single-Game Tickets: In the event you purchase single-game tickets for a postseason game that does not occur, your purchase will be refunded to your credit card within 10 days of the scheduled game. Refunds will include per ticket convenience fees. Per order processing fees are non-refundable.

  20. Once they replace someone due to injury, that player has to stay out for the remainder of the post season, correct? I'm not overly concerned about not having Gio again, I'm just curious.
  21. Pre-Season World Series odds (sorry, not clear if this was to make it or win it) Houston: 21-4 LA: 7-1 Boston: 13-1 Milwaukee: 55-1 As a fan, if you can't appreciate what this team has been able to accomplish this year, then I'm not sure what to tell you.
  22. I know he rarely throws in back to back games, but I would be surprised if Hader is unavailable tonight. I assumed that was the whole point of not letting him pitch the 9th last night.
  23. Are you talking about individual tickets you purchased for the WC game or the 12 game SSH postseason ticket strip? I think there are various options in regards to getting a refund for games not played that were part of the 12 game strip. One of the options is that they just put it towards your season tickets for next year. I'm not sure if that is the default refund method or if you have to somehow notify them of the method you are choosing for a refund. If you have the 12 game strip it's not just the WC game, but also game 5 of the NLDS and game 4 of the WS (since there is no way there will be 4 home games for the Brewers if they make the WS). I believe the final charge of 50% for the 12 game strip is supposed to take place tomorrow. Perhaps they will just reduce that charge as a way of giving a refund.
  24. If this is true, that is awesome.
