  1. Yeah, this does beat noon on Friday. Also, didn't look at this until now, but the NLCS home games would all be on Fridays and Saturdays and all 3 WS home games would be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday unless Cleveland was the AL champ.
  2. What's the rule on being in the dugout? Do you have to be on the DL (Vogt, Suter) or active roster to be in the dugout? I would hope that guys that don't fit in one of those two categories and that may not make the post season roster could still be in the dugout, especially if they have been with the team the majority of the year.
  3. I don't think Thames should make it as well. I do like Thames' personality and agree that he is a total team player, but I don't think he should make the cut. I'm concerned that he will get the nod though, because there were several times in the last few weeks where, for some reason, he was chosen to pinch-hit ahead of Granderson. I'm mean I guess it all worked out even though, with one notable exception, Thames failed to produce in those pinch hit opportunities.
  4. I usually find the suggested price to be a bit low. I'm selling two of my 4 tickets that I have for Thurs. game. The suggested price they gave me was $30 lower than the lowest ticket price in that section and the 12 sections surrounding that section.
  5. Thanks for the info, but some of that depends on the price you sold them at. Did you sell them on Stubhub? Was your price lower, higher, or about the same as similar tickets?
  6. I don't understand why they have to wait to see who is going where to determine the times of the games. They know all the home teams. Isn't that the most important factor? Even if it does make a difference, why not at least post the possible times like - Thurs: Cub/Rockies @ Brewers @ 3pm or 6:30pm (similar to the speculation on this board). At least give people some idea. People have lives and need to plan ahead.
  7. Ah..ok. That makes sense.
  8. Can anyone understand what "Tubey" is saying in the WI Dells commercial where it opens up with him saying "Boy, 'blank' is really happening in the Reyes' household"? What's really happening in their household? Our family tries to figure it out every time it comes on. We have no idea. Sounds like he is saying "flights" or "fights", but neither would make any sense.
  9. Starting following at around age 10 or 11, so about 1976 or 1977. I think because of my age at the time and how many games I went to with friends, including the 82 playoffs and WS, I'm biased to remember those teams more fondly than any of the more recent successful Brewer teams. It was such a huge part of my life at the time. No responsibilities and trappings of adulthood. All I had to do was enjoy baseball. Most games were not televised, so spent many hours in my room listening to Uecker and Merle Harmon on the radio. It would be easy for me to say that the 82 team was the best, but all those teams from 78-82 were really good. Under today's playoff format, I think all of them would have made the playoffs. Also really liked team streak from 1987. However, because the two guys at the top of the current lineup remind me of those days of watching Molitor and Yount at the top, I think this I enjoy this team more than any of the teams since that late 70's early 80's period. I don't know that anyone can definitively say what year was the best Brewer team, but the 82 team will always be my favorite Brewer team.
  10. I agree completely with this. I get a bit tired of all the criticism of a manager who's team, despite how they finish this year, has outperformed expectations for the 2nd year in a row. I know someone who has basically told me that even if the Brewers win the WS, they will have done it despite CC's "bad" managing. They refuse to give him credit for anything. I particularly agree with the "I don't have all the info they have available, none of us do" comment and I'll add that we, as fans, are not with the team for several hours each day over the course of a 162 game schedule so there are other factors that we may not be completely aware of that go into the decisions that are made. Baseball is not managed in a vacuum. There is not a "blackjack cheat card" that you can use pull out that tells you what to do in every situation. Decisions that are made during one game can not only effect the outcome of that game, but also the outcome of the next 2 or 3 games.
  11. Nope, it is working as intended. They just poorly formulated what was happening by not using clear English. What it should've said is, "You will be allowed to buy 4 tickets total spanning the Wild Card & NLDS Games." I was wondering if that was the case. However, I purchased two tickets for one game and it stated that I had reached my limit. Shouldn't I be able to purchase 2 more?
  12. I grew up watching baseball in the 70's and 80's. They use to actually schedule double headers and sometimes they would be twi-night double headers that would start at 4 or 4:30 and end around midnight. Then as the players union got more power the days of scheduled double headers came to an end. When my son was in youth baseball and HS baseball, I remember thinking how long the season was and how it seemed like they were playing every day. So, I can only imagine what it's like to grind it out from mid February to the end of September (and for some beyond that). I get that its a grind, that they worked very hard to get where they are, that they spend a lot of time away from their wife and children, that they are asked many times to do interviews or make public appearances on days that are supposed to be off days. I get all that, BUT, and this will sound like an old man "back in my day" rant, the average MLB salary is around $4M, the minimum is $500K to play baseball! You retire before you are 40. Suck it up! Stop whining about how tough it is. Everyone works and most people work for 40 or more years before they retire and if they are lucky they might make as much money in their entire career as some of these players make in 3 months.
  13. Admin leave? I'm assuming this was meant to be in blue. Edit: Nevermind, I should have googled it. I see Ken Rosenthal tweeted that. I never heard the term of admin leave used when a player is benched by MLB for issues off the field. [sarcasm]Is he going to be doing paperwork in the front office until they sort this out?[/sarcasm]
  14. Sorry if this has already been discussed and answered. However, I understand that the wild card team is automatically not the home team for the NLDS. Is that also true for the NLCS regardless of team records? Edit: Nevermind, I found the answer.
  15. Brewers current magic number to make the playoffs is 13 Edit: Sorry, just went back a page or two to look at posts and it appears someone has already been updating the magic number.
  16. Are you saying Barnes or Boo-arnes? Barns and Burns both spell their name wrong.
  17. If people want to complain about putting Barns in here...I think I can get behind that. Never have been a fan of Barns
  18. Sooo..would you rather have Cedeno in to face one batter in a 4-1 game. Or Cendeno in for a full inning in a 6-4 game?
  19. Well, in those fans' defense, the August pen was basically Jeffress, Hader, Burnes and a can of gasoline. Ok, but not sure how you can get ticked off every time one of those pitchers is not put in. You have to use those other "gasoline" pitchers sometimes. Even with his recent struggles, Jennings had a 3.21 ERA entering this game. It wasn't a hard hit ball. It was barely fair. Seems like the complaints get louder after the fact.
  20. My point is that yes, maybe there are 12 guys in the bullpen (or whatever), but Brewer fans only to want to use 2 or 3 of them.
  21. Ok, Cedeno maybe. However, wasn't a double switch. Then who's after that in a 4-1 game.
  22. Not sure I get all the Jennings bashing. Who else should have been put in? I sometimes feel like if anyone but Hader is put in, Brewer fans are not happy.
