  1. Yes it was. Also, there was a guy a few rows in front of us as well as one fan a section or two over that seem to have more of a "football" type mentality when it came to how enthusiastic they thought the crowd should be. Sorry, but when the other team has the bases loaded and threatening to take over the lead in a big way, I'm not going to be on my feet shouting "Here we go Brewers, here we go!" Once we get two strikes on a hitter in that situation, sure, then I get it. However, this fan wanted everyone to be loud all the time, even just after Turner hit the HR to go ahead. Yes, this may sound "elitist", but I just have a hard time relating to these types of fans. Most of the people in our section were doing their best to ignore him.
  2. It just kills me that Joe West is the crew chief for the ALCS. Umpires have absolutely zero accountability.
  3. Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but why has Rob Edwards been replaced as the Miller Park PA announcer for the playoff games? I don't remember this being the case in 2008 or 2011. I don't like it. I want to hear that familiar voice when I go see games at Miller Park. I'm hoping it for some reason other than MLB dictating this situation (like perhaps Edwards had a vacation planned or some other personal situation). I also sure hope he didn't retire.
  4. The umpires' families/friends were sitting in the two rows in front of us last night. That was interesting to say the least.
  5. [sarcasm]Geez...what a surprise. Joe West is one of the worst umps by far[/sarcasm]. Could not find Angel Hernandez on that graph.
  6. Interesting. I didn't think they were doing that for playoff games. I have a printout of all the seat prices that they posted before the playoffs began (It shows discounted 12 game strip prices for full season and partial season SSH as well as the individual game prices). I didn't think they would deviate from that.
  7. Is it just a generic ticket, or do they reproduce it with your seat location?
  8. My tickets from 82. I get the whole convienence thing of electronic tickets, but I sure miss the souvenir aspect having a traditional ticket. I guess I'm not sure how to post an image. Here is a link. I just put this in the "/img" tool, but it didn't work for some reason https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B6bjKB4irhfMSXFFYTJzS0hLU0k
  9. See Billy Beane. Not saying that Steans will decide to stay in Milwaukee forever, but there is at least one example of a highly sought after GM staying put in a small market
  10. My feelings going into the NLDS vs. the Rockies: cautiously confident My feelings going into the NLCS vs. the Dodgers: optimistically afraid
  11. Not sure why Milwaukee would be an exception to storming the field when it has not happened since the late 80's for any MLB team. Trying to recall other teams that won the LCS at home in recent years after long droughts such as KC in 2014 and Chicago in 2016. No storming the field by fans in either of those cases. It's just not a thing any more.
  12. Congrats! So which name did you end up going with..Christian, Jesus, Lorenzo, Bernie?
  13. That was a thing for all every team winning a series back then. It was expected and there really was never an attempt to stop the fans by security. In 1976 Chris Chambliss hit a HR to win the 76 ALCS for NY and it's still debated as to whether or not he touched home plate because of all the fans that stormed the field as he was rounding the bases. Not sure when exactly that "tradition" ended, but it was always one of my favorite parts of watching a team win a series in October. Still happens in college sports for big games and upsets.
  14. I'm hoping he ends up being their closer. He's on my fantasy team!
  15. Somewhere in that throng of fans on the field is a 16 year old version of me!
  16. Again, I agree with all those times, with the exception of game 7. I can't see them choosing prime time for a game 6 over a game 7. Have they ever done that in past years?
  17. Keith, I assume you are seeing an amount available on the SH site somewhere. If so, where do you see this? It may just be my PC. For example on one PC when I use chrome and browse SH, it shows and option where I can select multiple sections, on another PC also using chrome, it does not give me that option.
  18. 3pm central is 1pm western. I doubt that MLB will make LA play a 1pm weekday NLCS game and there is only on other game they need to schedule that day.
  19. Last year, the weekday games were at Houston and at Chicago. They were at 4 pm and 8 pm central time. I imagine they would do the exact same thing this year except the NL game would be late considering it's in LA. Last year on Saturday they had a 3 pm and 7 pm central time for game 2. Game 6 I would anticipate at 7 pm central, and game 7 will depend on whether AL goes to game 6 or not. If it does, game 7 would probably be the 3 pm. That seems about right. However, I believe they would push a game 7 to prime time (and have the AL game 6 on earlier).
  20. Well, here are some things I'm not sure you are considering... - I have seen some posts on this site questioning why anyone would be a season ticket holder since there are so many opportunities to get discounted or even free tickets throughout the season. This is true and I probably could attend 20 games each year for a lot cheaper than what I spend on season tickets each year. - I have been a season ticket holder for the last 25 years. Think about some of those years. The Brewers were horrible and during those county stadium years, there were maybe 10,000 at the most at some of those April games that were in my ticket package (was a 15 game package prior to Miller Park opening). During some of those 85-100 seasons I was paying a pretty good premium for most of those games as they were doing countless discounts to get seats filled. Probably the #1 reason I continue to renew my 20 game pack each year is because of the post season opportunities granted to SSH. Also, if I decide to sit out a few years, I lose my place in line (seniority gets better seat opportunities for post season). If they took that perk away, I most likely would discontinue my season tickets.
  21. Yes. I'm a 20 game SSH. Email went out in August and I believe it was a September 6 deadline to purchase a full post season strip (which I did).
  22. Everyone has their own priorities and tolerance levels, but for me personally, that just sounds like a nightmare. No matter how badly I wanted to attend a game, I don't think I could do SRO even if it was my only option. I would just choose to watch it in a bar or in my own house at that point. It also does not help that I get lower back pains when I stand in one place for an extended period of time and that I'm only 5'7" tall.
  23. Not surprising. Besides Lindor and Ramirez, that lineup the Indians are trotting out there is pretty underwhelming. Doesn’t the AL get homefield no matter who makes it because they won the all star game? They did away with that after the 2016 season. It's now the team with the better record gets home field advantage in the WS.
