  1. best pennant. where can you find one of those for under 50 bucks on ebay?
  2. Pedro can still hit 90 I'm sure. He didn't pitch too much in spring training. I think that this might have only been his 4th start all spring which probably has something to do with it. I'd really like to see him get to 250 wins but i don't know if he'll get there. He's at 209 at age 37...The last two seasons killed him, though he does have the highest winning percentage of any pitcher with 200 wins. Get well soon Pedro!
  3. Players usually will do that kind of thing if you ask em nicely. I have an 8x10 that Turnbow wrote "Get Nasty" under....I have the scorecard from Mothers Day and Bill Hall signed "Clutch" under it...and last year I have a scorecard for when Parra came out for his first time and he wrote "Debut" under his name...the only person that ever turned me down for something like that was Uecker when I asked him to put Mr Baseball after it he said he doesn't do that...which was fine. that was at braves night 3 or 4 years ago
  4. Zach, thanks again for the Gagne ball! I got Braun and Yost on my bat that already had Prince, Weeks, and Hardy....my girlfriend ran to the prince line and got cut off by 5 people...she said that people were arguing with others and didn't wanna wait in the line so I could get Corey and Billy, so she head over to the Uecker line. When I got to the Uecker/Mark A line, I found out quickly that he would only sign the pictures and neither would do balls (which was a shame because I was gonna get one for Jamie assuming he still doesn't have one). Did anyone notice how pixelated the Mark A pics were?! Not the best quality...however, he was very nice. My gf tried to take a picture of him, and it turned out bad, she said something like "oh man, he looked away just as I took it" so he quick put his head up with a big smile for another pic...Uecker on the other hand didn't look at anyone and didn't say anything...he seems to becoming a grumpy old man Then I hit up the rummage sale and got a Gary Mathews game worn jersey for 25 bucks. Granted he was only a coach here, but I felt he was a good enough player to warrant a clearance jersey. Though I'm kinda kicking myself for not getting the Auerbach jersey, since I'm assuming he was the last player to wear 19 for the crew. My friend got a guy Mallete who pitched 5 games in the majors and had a career 10 era. Not bad! I also got two branyan balls and an overbay for 5 each along with 5 bill and darron bobbles. All and all a good day, though I was pretty bummed out to find that scorecards are now 2 bucks each. So I won't be doing that nearly as much as I used to, and that's my favorite thing to do at a game. So it goes. Overall, great On Deck!!!
  5. I can't believe nobody has mentioned "Rock You Like A Hurricane" Get in the game people!!!!
  6. I wish my dad and relatives read this board and saw this post...I've been looking for a job for the past 3 years, I subbed for 2 years to get my foot in the door, and had a few interviews which was promising, but I gave up looking last year and am now looking again for spring. Math too. I thought I'd be able to get a job immediately, but not the case
  7. put my name in the hat, i got a beer for ya...thanks pedro!
  8. 1250 just said that Pinella named Wood the Cubs' closer. Good luck with that north side!!!
  9. I haven't lost a tooth in about 18 years, maybe 19...i always got a buck, some are saying 3, i'd go with 2...infact, go with the 2 dollar bill. those make a kid feel like their rich cuz no one uses those, and more neat than a dollar coin, IMO.
  10. thanks a lot for the advice, i'm gonna be looking into that soon...any idea how much somethin like that costs to do? pitch, the thing was, he didn't pay me for 3 months rent...he owed my dad for about a year because he had a cancer scare and an identity theft within a few months spam, so my pops gave him teh benefit of the doubt...after he didn't pay me for 3 months he was gone...my dad didn't need the money as much as i did because he already owned the house, so it was a little easier to allow it to happen i guess...the lesson is, never trust yer friends
  11. kinda off topic, but being in law enforcement, i have a question for you. i had a roommate that owes me 975 in rent, my dad about 4000, and that doesn't even include bills. after i kicked him out, he moved to colorado, where i don't really know how to reach him. however his parents live pretty close. here's the thing, my dad owned the house where we both paid rent, then i bought it from my father. because i grew up with the guy, and he was one of my best friends, it was a handshake deal, so there is no contract. however, i have tons of mail that keeps showing up at my house. not even junk mail, bills, uwm stuff, etc. i also have emails saying he would pay me, and a check that he wrote for 975, but then decided to cancel his bank account the following day because "his bank was screwing him around" the guy has more stories than mother goose, and owes money all over town based on what i can see from the envelopes on the mail. do i just go to small claims and have them direct the mail to his parents? lemme know, it's been a year since i kicked him out and we no longer communicate. thanks!
  12. please count me in! thanks again pedro! corey (bikeage77)
  13. i can't see the brewers doing anything to help the chubs. especially in the pitching department.
  14. can you put my name in the hat for this? pedro is the man!!!
  15. if your doing a drawing for either the eldred or melvin ball, i'd like to be part of that. otherwise, i'll take anything baseball related that hasn't been claimed. thats super nice of you to do! let me know if im in the running for anything, I can pm you my address. aweseome!
  16. youd think that for season ticket holders, you could get a team signed ball...it's nice of them to have a guy meet you in person, but they do that at autograph fridays as well, unless you get more than just a minute with the player...we all know season tickets cost a lot, i dunno how hard it would be to ask the guys to sign a team ball, they can probably kick out all the season ticket holders signed balls in 3 hours between the team, and they wouldn't have to do it all in one day...thats me though, and i dont have season tickets. i dont know how many season ticket holders are out there either
  17. Some of you might have already seen this, it's in this week's edition, but I got a pretty good bang out of it. Linkified, to entertain you even more quickly. (linkification by hawing)
  18. A few years ago when I was a summer playground director, I pinched a nerve in my back while BMXing around at playground. I had to ask some kids to put my bike in my van because I couldn't lift it. For about 20 minutes I tried to stretch it out before I called my boss and went home. When I got home, I started seeing spots, and got really dizzy, almost falling off my porch. I made it inside and ended up puking a few times before I layed on my floor for the rest of the day in ridiculous pain. So yeah, I agree with everyone else, you can hurt so much that you vomit.
  19. Don't jump the gun so quick, just call and find out when it will be sent. Over my years I've realized the best way to get your way is to be polite as possible, you can even politely "get tough" with anyone and generally win the battle if it's over something you feel is rightly yours. The Brewers are pretty good at clearing things up, I've had a few problems with various small things, and they've always been quick to reply, and often times very helpful in solving my troubles. Good luck to both you guys. I too hope to be a season ticket holder someday, when the money is available for me.
  20. I got mine at Walgreens, but I was there twice that day, the first time there were a ton, and later in the day when I stopped there (forgot something from earlier), there was only a small stack left.
  21. Yeah, it's pretty silly to have a full line for one day during spring training. Are the Brewers are gonna wear a green themed jersey on St Patty's Day? I've seen the reds and the sox throwbacks with Green, but can't recall any other teams doing it.
  22. Pink Flamingos, Ghostbusters, Bad News Bears
  23. Great story, but next time, show some emotion. Maybe use an exclamation mark? I dunno, something just to show us that your excited http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. Leff's musta recently went up in price (within the past 3 or 4 months i guess, they started having problems with their wing night, mostly the crowd that it was bringing in, which could be why) but while I don't like Leff's as a bar that much anymore, I can't deny that their wings are probably the best in town. Point's East is the only bar I'd need to compare them too, but still haven't gotten there. Brother's wing night is pretty good, but do you need to show some kinda student ID for that deal to work? I don't think I did the few times I was there, but I was also with a friend in school, so I can't remember.
  25. At this rate, I think any of 4 or 5 guys could be the setup man. If Turnbow can't locate his fastball, then he can't go with his breaking ball, then Riske, Torres, Mota, Parra, or even Villanueva could be options (though the latter two I'd prefer in the rotation) It's nice we have this "problem." I'm sure Ned's said it already, but I'm waiting to hear more about how "this is a good problem to have" he loves that line.
