  1. Lintz can't be traded until 7/9/09 and Wooten can't be traded until 6/28/09.
  2. If the Brewers promote a 19 year old to A-ball, it generally means they think quite highly of him. And it's not like there was/is a shortage of pitchers for the Wisconsin roster... Nieves must have earned his way. No doubt he's not a hard thrower, but he has good command and potential with his offspeed stuff.
  3. "SHMAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
  4. Sign up Steve Moss now. Redemption could be his!
  5. How good of a season does Adam Heether have to have before the Brewers worry about losing him at the end of the season? Yohannis Perez is ballin' with the Stars... he might be putting himself back on the prospect map, even if he is old. Cody and Baron might have to be bumped at midseason to see if the Brewers have anything with either one.
  6. Hey, Jim still has another 6+ hours. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Josh Butler fans will be disappointed by this Power 50. He didn't appear on any of the individual Power 50 lists... FWIW, he would have been around #52 or so on mine.
  7. Jack Bauer didn't make the Power 50. Other guys who didn't make the Power 50: 51. Mike McClendon 52. Nick Tyson 53. Brendan Katin 54. Michael Bowman 55. Mike Ramlow
  8. Putting on a turn signal does not give you the right of way to merge.
  9. Already being discussed here.
  10. It takes two to tango - I don't think the market for Brad Nelson right now was such that a team would have felt the need to give up a player for him. If you have a decent shot at getting him for free, why pay? Best of luck, Brad. Sorry it didn't work out here in the end.
  11. Why doesn't Bill Castro grow a really sweet 'stache? I'm sorta curious as to the effect Stan Kyles is having on the bullpen. Besides DiFelice, none of the guys down there have really exceeded expectations while Julio and McClung have regressed. The pitching staff is doing very well as a whole... certainly kudos go out to Castro.
  12. How about Ben Sheets? Eric Bedard is the name that springs to mind immediately. There seems to be a natural connection with Jack Z. manning the Seattle post, and Bedard in his free agent year. Tampa might want to move one its arms as well, if they can get some more offense and clear a space for Price in '10.
  13. I have my doubts that Hoffman will spend more than one season in Milwaukee. Since the Padres' ownership situation has been more or less resolved, it seems likely they would do what it takes to make amends and get him back there to finish his career in a San Diego uniform.
  14. I'm not sure I would have used Hoffman for a third day in a row against the Marlins. I would have rather had him available tomorrow against the Cardinals for sure. It's sure nice to sweep, though. This team is playing really well right now.
  15. Where in the world is Josh Romanski?
  16. If you interview for the Milwaukee manager job and you are not a part of the coaching staff, well... Mr. Brenly, I hope broadcasting suits you.
  17. Mobile Estates is a pretty OK album. I still play Better Days now and again. Matt Sims has gone on to make a couple really weird/creepy synth pop albums. I think he lives in Berlin now. Can't wait for the new Wilco album, and that there is one awesome camel.
  18. As an aside, DO NOT GOOGLE ENRIQUE CRUZ. Unless your name is Katuluu.
  19. A burger from The Nook triggered my gall bladder to explode, literally. Every time I drive by it I curse the place. And their fries are terrible.
  20. I agree that's the way to spell Coffey's name.
  21. I think sending Hardy down to AAA might eliminate any chance we have of signing him to a long term deal. Then again, if management is sure they have no shot at re-signing him, maybe they will send him down if they think it won't hurt. In either case, I'm sure Alcides Escobar is happy.
  22. Rob Wooten is too good for A-ball. He doesn't have to work on locating his fastball or throwing offspeed stuff - he's beyond the rudimentary stuff. He just needs to learn how to be successful as an offspeed pitcher against good competition. I thought they might put him in AA to open 2009... he'll be there for sure at some point. I'm keeping an eye on Juan Sanchez. I'd like to know the story of how he was available in the Rule 5 draft, and why/how the Brewers decided to get him. I'm sure some Brewers scout is smiling.
  23. For comparison, so far this season: Suppan: 1.46 WHIP, 5.9 K/9 Looper: 1.50 WHIP, 6.5 K/9 In other words, I think both mens' ERAs are going to gravitate towards the middle.
  24. I have the Brewers at 15-13. I have the Cardinals at at least 15-13 as well, but they could win 17+. They play Pittsburgh five times, as well as three games each against Washington, Kansas City and San Francisco. I have the Cubs around 16-13.
  25. He doesn't have to be added to the 40-man roster this offseason (or next offseason either)... unless he forces his way on to the Brewers club this year, he won't be called up.
