  1. Aggravating losses in consecutive one-run games with an opportunity to gain ground on the chasing Cubs. After seeing the offense perform well during the 9-game winning streak, we saw nearly the 180º opposite on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe being out of the weather in the next series will help. Guess we become short-term Cincinnati Reds fans for the Labor Day weekend.
  2. Most any opponent in a Wild Card Series will pose potential for a best-of-three loss. But these two games are a reason to try to avoid being paired against the Cubs and face Steele and Hendricks as starters, even if the games are in Milwaukee.
  3. Lousy to lose that game 1-0 while missing multiple opportunities to score runs and a chance to put a fairly strong grip on the division race. The team isn’t dependent upon the long ball to score, but didn’t cash in. Couple that with the wind killing several potential home runs/extra-base hits. Guess you just chalk it up to one of those sucky “It’s Baseball” losses.
  4. That's a quality start for Miley. Kept the home run damage down to two solo shots. Time to score some insurance runs and turn it over to the bullpen.
  5. Keep the streak going…..Williams locks down the win!
  6. Time for Williams to try to walk the 9th inning tightrope once again.
  7. Good enough job by Peguero to finish the inning with conceding only one run. Had a chance to be much worse. Could use some tack-on runs.
  8. The Brewers team speed with the youngsters playing this year is so fun to watch in games. Just a whole different vibe from last season.
  9. Can’t even get replay right. Still the stupidest replay system in sports. Doesn’t excuse the poor baserunning decision.
  10. Blake Perkins walk off. Not the expected result, but a good one.
  11. Good to get one back. Could’ve used that with runners on base last inning.
  12. This team’s record versus other teams in last place of their divisions is highly unimpressive.
  13. Jesse Winker to the 10-Day Injured List. One way he won't be in games for a while.
  14. No call up of Hiura with Winker going on the 10-Day Injured List. Gives more credence to the idea that no call up should be expected for Hiura until after the Trade Deadline, if at all.
  15. Walkoff win is well within the run of play for the game. So many baserunners not cashed in. Well deserved for the pitching staff to not get hung with a loss. But it’s another grind-it-out win that shows how hard it is to string lots of singles together to score runs. Really could use adding a couple #3–5 hitters with some power and at least average contact to this lineup at the trade deadline.
  16. Gotta love playoff-style baseball in late-July. It has to be the “Sal Frelick Game” going forward in Brewers history.
  17. If this is the Burnes who shows up for the next two months, it’s going to be having a true ace topping the rotation. Strong way to embark on a divisional title race with the potential for chasing finishing #2 in the league standings.
  18. Gotta cash in the 9th Inning insurance run opportunity.
  19. Oh yeah, sweep Cincinnati on the road to kick off the “Second Half” of the season! Just stay away from any sweep suits before boarding the plane to Philadelphia.
  20. Frustrating loss. Some good offense shown, though not cashing in with the bases loaded and two out in the 6th hurt. Failure to convert shutdown innings after scoring was a big storyline. Then we got the de la Cruz circus, followed by the ump show. Reds lineup causes some coveting. Brewers lineup needs to find at least one more solid bat, probably two. “First Half” ends on Sunday. Not a must-win, but it seems bigger than a typical July game.
  21. Throwing the lead away in one fell swoop. Absolutely last thing desired after scoring a few runs. Needed a shutdown inning.
  22. Wilson pitched 1.0 IP on Tuesday and 1.2 IP on Wednesday. So I can see having two off days for a reliever like that. But this is a gut punch loss that should’ve been a win even with a patchwork bullpen. Wiemer’s misplay of the double in the 8th didn’t help, either. Don’t know what even to do with Bush at this point other than DFA’ing him. Just been a non-positive factor after being acquired as a potential backup closer/setup man.
  23. It also helped that the 2021 Central Michigan team had two offensive tackles taken in the 2022 draft: Luke Goedeke (2nd Round) and Bernhard Raimann (3rd Round). They had a hard time replacing that talent on the offensive line on the 2022 squad, alongside Nichols' injury. But as a Central Michigan alum and a Packers fan, I'm very happy that Nichols wasn't completely overlooked in this year's draft.
