  1. Players are questioning the direction of the team. Lauer’s comments and Burnes blame https://fansided.com/2022/09/13/corbin-burnes-blames-brewers-contract/ fall on the team. These are just two guys in the clubhouse so I think it is fair to say that the team is not thrilled with management as a whole and that this is a problem stemming from the Hader trade. ”At least hundreds of millions” means just that. Yes, it could be over a billion dollars for team/city/county if you are to include and add other projects around the ballpark that include the team….like reconfiguring interstate 94 being one. If you look at Toronto’s renovation, it is in the 300 million dollar range. However, the kicker is that this is not what they all think should be done. This isn’t even the major renovation that needs to happen in 10-12 years. https://www.si.com/mlb/bluejays/news/blue-jays-unveil-2023-2024-rogers-centre-renovation Oh, and the Orioles are borrowing 1.2 Billion dollars from the state (allowing 600 million in debt at any time). https://ballparkdigest.com/2022/04/24/state-funding-approved-for-oriole-park-renovations-milb-ballpark-upgrades/
  2. I thought I was stating the obvious. The clubhouse is thrilled with management? People enjoyed watching the offense this year? Stearns gets a good grade at deadline? The AmFam report and its (at least) hundreds of millions of upkeep is minor business, not a challenge? I guess it’s opinion but it is fairly vanilla and fairly accurate.
  3. Clubhouse moral down….Attendance down… people ticked at Hader deal and deadline in general. Trading like a last place team leading division. Unheard of. Style of offensive play so brutal to watch day to day. Can’t keep Burnes. And the Big Report on AmFam Park will probably be a challenge as a city/county too, a financial elephant problem sitting on the team So, yeah, a little spoiled, sure. But the other stuff is all true and mainly troubling.
  4. I’d almost agree…. The base is so bleh right now with this team.
  5. Trade chip first and foremost….
  6. I believe he said that the team needs to be “opportunistic”..… code for not trading off Burnes or Woody this season?
  7. Giving Woodruff that much money PER YEAR and for four more years, in addition to next year? And Yelich gets his money. Just not seeing it. Attendance down. This conversation should happen in July or so and maybe not even tgen. Let’s see how 2023 goes first. Very uneasy giving any pitcher big money to his mid 30s.

  9. I’d be surprised if he is not back. A SP who has some upside; moreover, our rotation is not deep. Who are they going to fall back on in 2023 without him? Alexander? Surprised and a little shocked if this happens. Not as shocked as the Hader trade, of course.
  10. World Series Game 7 brought pain.
  11. And Brian Anderson called it… extra innings is the last thing he wants…almost surprising he is still doing baseball. Maybe he can get the Brewers to cut him down from 50 games to 25 next year and leave after the 6th inning.
  12. Brewers are in a tough spot… they NEED more highly talented, cheap pitchers and infielders coming through the pipeline… need to limit payroll, and cannot afford to alienate fan base more after the Hader trade… a trade of Burnes or Woodruff for even a decent return would be jeered by more than half of our fans.
  13. The day of trade CC and Stearns talked up Lamet too…. What happened, I do not understand. They valued Brent Suter, we learned.
  14. Don’t remind me…. CC changed his entire handling of the bullpen based on his whims and gripes.
  15. I was going to get a watch, but I didn’t have the time.
  16. Hader’s release tipped their hand…. they are looking to the future. So surprised if Burnes And Woodruff are with them at season’s begining.
  17. Actually, I think it does. The 2B is not always going to be in the same spot without the shift. There will be more holes for Yelich and Rowdy, of course.
  18. Great point… a bunch of .235 batters that were looking to “ring that bell” was the problem. And not as good pitching. Everyone but maybe Woodruff was worse. Errors poked up at times too.
  19. Melvin never botched a deadline like this…. Just awful.
  20. No playoffs after being around 90% odds of in playoff around July 31… Offense struggled greatly down the stretch… Rosenthal didn’t pitch. Bush and Taylor… unreliable late Lamet pitched well in Colorado… just gave him away Hader has turned it around D- to F
  21. How about a guy that can hit over .260? And less all for nothing swings. You got to be kidding me with some of their approaches. And some speed on the bases. And opportunities to strategize with a bunt. The entire team is a .230 hitter with about 18 HRs and a bunch of strike outs. The baseball is pure awful to watch offensively. I literally expect nothing from any one of our hitters. I remember the days of Braun and Fielder. When the entire team struggled hitting, you still believed in those two guys for the most part. Now, it is woefully bad. Our best hitters have a worse average than Gorman.
  22. Which would line up Freddy for Game 1 and Woody Game 2.
  23. Well, it’s Peralta today and Woodruff tomorrow.
