  1. I'd bet that there must be fairly convincing evidence for them to make a 'directly linked' claim that goes beyond 'opinion'. You don't make a claim like that based on a gut feeling.....
  2. I also wonder if they'll use more tandem backfields, with Dillon as the 'RB' and Jones being used as a quasi-receiver. That actually makes a lot of sense, and could create some matchup nightmares for defenses.
  3. Oh don't get me wrong, I have little doubt that one or both of the guys they took yesterday could end up being a major contributor next year. It's just very uninspiring so far, having to wait and see on every single pick they've made thus far.
  4. I will say, these picks may prove to work out very well in the end, but the team's moves certainly have completely sapped my interest and enjoyment in the draft this year. I turned it off after the Packers' 3rd, and I don't even think I want to turn it back on today.
  5. No discussion so far that these guys all seem perfect for what we heard the LaFleur offense would look like. A Henry-type RB, sound blocking TE, etc. Maybe this is a draft to shift from a McCarthy/LaFleur hybrid offense to a LaFleur/Shanahan style offense.
  6. Reminds me a lot of the early TT drafts where they went BPA on their boards and drafted players we’d never heard of out of Bethune Cookman, Western Michigan, Kansas State, etc. A lot of those guys ended up being All-Pros, so hopefully this ends up as good. But yeah. Uninspiring at the very least right now. We’ll actually know more in a couple of years.
  7. Is Gute wearing a Wisconsin shirt?
  8. Maybe it's my own recency bias, but I feel like our recent track record with "athletes" (Quinten Rollins, Datone Jones, etc) has been quite bad. Different regime.
  9. Jordan Elliott would be a great pick if he makes it there.
  10. The type of draft that gets you on the wall of honor, or gets you fired.
  11. There are a lot of great options left here.
  12. Pats trade up?
  13. I’m afraid Baun has Tennessee written all over him.
  14. Zero problems with Jones, Baun, Johnson, or Edwards.
  15. Tyler Johnson could end up being a steal as well.
  16. Edwards might be the Packers’ pick even if Mims is there.
  17. Madubuike would be a really solid pick there too. No doubt. Just pointing out that 3 guys that were heavily mocked to GB at 30 could end up with the team at 62.
  18. Or got lucky! Well, that’ll be the narrative! But maybe it was solid strategery!
  19. If the Packers end up with Mims, Cleveland, or Jones at 62, Gute looks like a genius.
  20. For as slow as last night was, it feels like we’re zipping along tonight.
  21. It would be crazy if one of Mims, Baun, Cleveland or Jones would make it to 62.....
  22. Well the early run on WRs isn’t great.
  23. SI's 2nd/3rd round re-mock today has Pittman making it to GB at 62, and Logan Wilson at LB in the 3rd. I'd be thrilled if that's our day 2.
  24. Part of me thought about that last night. Has there ever been an NFL trade AFTER the player is selected? I know the NBA does that all the time but wasn't sure how the NFL handles that. Eli Manning for sure, off the top of my head.
  25. My theory is that the draft is such an inexact science that more bites at the apple gives you a better chance of getting lucky. I think this is a very fair theory. But I do think some teams are undeniably better at it than others.
