  1. A McDaniels HC, Gase OC situation in Green Bay might be my dream scenario.
  2. Per Packersnews.com (Silverstein), the Packers requested interviews with McDaniels, Steelers o-line coach Mike Munchak,Patriots LB coach Brian Flores in addition to Campbell. Live.packersnews.com
  3. I believe Robb had a heart attack and subsequent quadruple bypass ten years ago. I was surprised to see that he was 71. I’m betting he’s not willing to retire completely, but wants to enjoy more time off at this point. Hopefully it’s that and not a major health issue.
  4. I think you look at him like a possible rebound project. I wouldn’t give up anything for him other than a lottery type prospect and a bad contract that a team like the Yankees can eat.
  5. I guess it’s because he’s seemingly done a lot with nothing there. Without looking, can anyone name 3 players for the Dolphins? I’d be interested in a guy that had a lot of success with an aging HOF QB.
  6. Adam Gase fired by Miami in a bit of a surprise. I’d certainly hope the Packers take a look at him.
  7. I have zero problem if Fitzgerald gets the job, but I would have a problem if he gets the job without an exhaustive interview process first.
  8. Marvin Lewis finally ousted in Cincy.
  9. I’d like to see Jones given the opportunity to win one of the safety jobs, but that’s just IMO. And I’d be somewhat surprised if the Packers used any of their capital to address CB, beyond a low-cost vet signing or mid/late depth pickups. It seems like one of the positive spots on the roster to me.
  10. This right here to me is what a small rebuild would be described as although you might be being light on only needing to fill 5-6 holes to be a playoff team again. It is filling the holes PLUS finding depth moves on top of it. Not only that but with a new coach comes new philosophy and there might be players we think are quality that might not be here next year. Lots of moving pieces going to be in place very soon. I think the rebuilding really did begin last year- they set themselves up to have a huge, important offseason this year. And for holes? RT, RG, safety, 2 edge rushers, and a veteran WR.... If they address those holes, what else keeps them out of the playoffs?
  11. I guess I just don’t see the rebuild that people seem to think is necessary. A ton of draft picks including two firsts and a high second. A lot of cap room. They can realistically fill 5-6 actual holes, and build back depth in the middle rounds. I have no doubts in my mind that they’ll be back in the playoffs next year unless Rodgers has a significant injury.
  12. I’d counter with: the Packers have had such a fantastic run of success over the past 25 years that an entire generation of fans doesn’t understand that this is what almost all organizations go through periodically. Calling missing the playoffs two consecutive years, one of which had the team’s HOF QB miss much of the year a dumpster fire suggests a lack of understanding of how truly terrible organizations that are actually dumpster fires really are. It’s fair to be frustrated. I want to win every year, as we all do. I just don’t think it’s as dire as some seem to feel that it is.
  13. Probably worth noting the other ‘black Monday ‘ firings here, as Tampa starts it off by firing Koetter.
  14. For the record, I think this is a completely fair and accurate point.
  15. Was he? Didn’t he have to deal with the Favre un-retirement disaster like immediately? And is missing the playoffs two consecutive years after making it 8 straight really a dumpster fire?
  16. Why is the conversation regarding how much of an upgrade Grandal is vs. Pina? Isn’t the correct comparison vs. Kratz? If Pina/Kratz playing time was 60/40, doesn’t Grandal/Pina become the new 60/40?
  17. Exactly. You'd think the Badgers just need a non-turnover-prone QB next year to win a decent amount of games with Taylor in the backfield.
  18. I take your point and tend to agree, but it's worth noting that when Bollinger sat, Mike Samuel led them to a Rose Bowl Win.
  19. A nice way for the Badgers to end an otherwise disappointing season. Completely dominant over Miami in all aspects of the game tonight.
  20. One more time to show how angry I am at him right now.
  21. One bright spot of this season is that when it's over I'll never have to watch Gaglianone miss a FG again.
  22. Pagano was one of the hot coaches in the league until Luck's career imploded. I have no issues with them kicking the tires on him, actually. Caldwell has a Wisconsin tie (born/grew up in Beloit) and his interview accomodates the Rooney Rule. I'd think it's a courtesy interview rather than a serious one, IMO. No major issue with either getting brought in on my end. I don't want Caldwell at all, but as this is the first round, I'm not concerned that he'll be the best candidate. Interesting note on Pagano- Philbin was on his last staff in Indy, and Pettine and Pagano were on the Baltimore defensive staff together.
  23. If Broxton doesn't make the roster, he's gone. If you're saying they're going to trade him prior to the season as well, I'll say there's a chance you're correct. Otherwise, there's no way in my mind Broxton doesn't start the season on the 25 man (unless he's hurt, of course).
