  1. What I am wondering is about the report form Dan Patrick that 2 other Brewers had off testosterone levels as well. Were these samples kept in the tester's fridge also? Bingo. Between that and the absurd never-this-high level in Braun's sample, there's more than enough there to at least establish a reasonable doubt.
  2. Thanks xis, that's really helpful insight. I'm beyond thrilled, but Braun still has a long way to go. There will be enough writers/fans/MLB people that think he's tainted now that it will likely effect voting on any awards and possibly the HOF down the line. Braun may have won the battle, but he hasn't won the war yet. He seemingly acknowledges this in his statement about 'beginning to restore his name'.
  3. What did ESPN do wrong? They almost certainly broke HIPAA, which is illegal last I checked.
  4. Completely true, Invader. If they continue to win and he performs early, they won't care as much about years 6-9. He'll also present a marketing dream for them, considering his Dad's history as well.
  5. This is about as good a scenario as it gets for the Brewers. We'll see him maybe 3-6 games total over the length of that contract, and otherwise can be happy for what he does with them (unless we meet them in October some year!). Like Melvin said in the JS, we all saw this coming, but it's still a sad day. Glad to have had him here and wish things could have worked out some how, but not for that contract. As much as I love Prince, the Tigers will regret that deal immensely by year 6.
  6. Wow, thanks for the love, Laura. It was a great 6 years with Prince, and it's really hard to believe all that time has passed since that first HR game back in 2005.
  7. my opinions haven't changed much since 2007. I think you (and a lot of people) would be better served to acknowledge that while you have a preferred way to build a team, it's not the sole/only way to be successful at baseball.
  8. I think this was speculated on heavily, but the KRod situation cemented it. I'll agree with most of what's being said- I'm thrilled we got something instead of non-tendering him, let alone what looks like a serviceable middle reliever. I also think it's a great low-risk move for the Pirates, who have the luxury of being able to see if Casey can rebound at all. Best wishes to Casey and his family- he represented himself well while he was here and gave us two really good years.
  9. Quite the revisionist history here.... that "shaky 8th inning guy" put up a 1.86 ERA and stabilized our entire bullpen last year. Yes, this wouldn't be ideal, but wow. Bill James is still projecting a ~2.5 ERA for him next year...
  10. Between the price gouging on parking, and all the extra hoops that you have to go through just to park, etc., it's just not worth it. Seeing your team win in the playoffs in-person isn't worth a few extra bucks to park and dealing with fairly routine gameday traffic/policies isn't worth it? Really?
  11. Guess what, sports does not equal real life. Well, you're completely free to think and live life how you choose. But it's our board, and we desire for this particular thing not to be expressed here. With that in mind going forward, we all should be cool here.
  12. Guess what, sports does not equal real life. If Jesus Christ was a middle linebacker he would fill the A gap and knock every running back on the other team right on their butt every time until they wanted to take themselves out of the game. I would only sound awful if I wished injury on anyone in real life, not professional sports. Now I'm convinced you're not actually being serious. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  13. By this logic, everyone who hopes for Casey McGehee to get benched should also be ashamed of him/herself. If you can't see the difference between hoping for someone to get benched and hoping that someone gets injured, I don't know what to tell you. As obsessedwithbrewcrew noted, classless garbage like that will not be tolerated here.
  14. So you prefer Yuni to be the starting SS for the rest of the season including the playoffs? Please answer this question, yes or no. Yes, I'd prefer any player to start if the alternative is an injury. Stop acting like a soccer mom and start acting like a sports fan, and please stop acting like this is some horrible, horrible thing like me saying Hitler had some good ideas. How about you start acting like a human being? Step away from the computer and think about how awful you sound as a person right now.
  15. Are you serious??? No one wanted him to die, just be out for the season. ' Holy crap, are you for real? Seriously, one of the most disappointing things I think I've ever read in over ten years here. You seriously should be completely ashamed of yourself.
  16. One person is pathetic ........only one person wanted hm to get hurt. There were more that you're no longer able to see.
  17. Cheering for any injury is classless; cheering for an injury to one of our own players is flat out disgusting.
  18. How in the world does something like this happen in today's medical environment? And an even better question might be how it happens for five years without someone figuring it out.... http://www.channel3000.co...lth/29015421/detail.html
  19. Even with Fielder, I don't think the Brewers are necessarily a playoff team in 2012, everything else equal. But other than KRod, everyone else from the team that's currently running away with the division would be back. What leads you to think this?
  20. It's painful to think how bad Prince would be defensively at 33 and 34 years old. I agree that I don't see an NL team making an offer like that, for this reason. They debate as to whether the Brewers offering a year (or two) too many to keep him here and make 2-3 more legitimate playoff runs is obviously the big question.
  21. Clearly your fault if we blow this. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. (why is he on the team and Yuni (back to old Yu-Bet) Never mind Yuni's 2-run HR today?
  23. Last night talking about how wins are the most important stat for Cy Young voting. Whether you feel it's correct or not, he's right in saying that it's what the voters look at first.
  24. It is tiring and funny that certain fans will defend their own front offices as the authority because they are paid for their services when other front offices who are also paid would do things differently. It is tiring and funny that certain fans will complain about almost anything even when the team is in first place and 18 games over .500.
