  1. This is a case where balancing your checkbook instead of checking online periodically would cause problems, right? If you relied on what you wrote down, you would probably assume that there was no bank error not in your favor, assume that you have an extra $100 in your account, and eventually overdraw. If you re-read the context of my post, I think we're making a similar argument. I think people should take advantage of on-line banking and such, but the poster I quoted didn't see the need in checking it too often.
  2. I feel bad for the cop. Emergencies are emergencies, but laws are laws. It could have been handled better--that's for sure. As a teacher, everyone wants us to be firm...until dealing with their child. Aren't rules rules? While I understand your point, I don't think there's a single person here that thinks that he shouldn't have been pulled over for rolling through the light and probably even given a ticket, the problem/issues are coming from how the officer acted after he was completely aware of the situation and circumstances.
  3. Yeah, I seriously do get my groceries for 20-30% less than at someplace like Copps, Pick&Save or Sentry.
  4. Are people that close to overwithdrawing that they need to be more accurate than that? I was unemployed for 5 months this winter, but it never got that bad. That's not necessarily the problem. It's that banks do sometimes make mistakes. Last year I made a $180 dollar deposit and at some point the one got dropped, making it $80 instead. Fortunately, I check everyday and caught it, but if you were checking once a week or just once on a monthly statement, that could cause some issues.

  6. I love up-tempo college hoops and don't want to see that style of play in a run-and-gun conference. Neither will the rest of the ACC..... exactly what should make it very entertaining.
  7. The Cubs made a deal days later. ...largely because the Brewers traded for Sabathia and they wanted to keep up. It happens. You have other examples of it happening before last year? Cleveland's thinking was out of the box in trading him early, but really, it was also the right thing to do. They were a long shot to compete at that point, and could maximize their return of talent from the Brewers by trading him early.
  8. He's like the anti-ACC coach... my god those people are going to hate him. That pretty much sums up my initial thoughts as well. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Thrilled to see him get a big-ish job and finally bring some Bennett-ball to the ACC.
  9. I'm having a passable 2nd season in AA right now after a miserable first season on Veteran difficulty.
  10. I agree with what Tracy said- I respect that an officer comes into a situation not knowing what to expect and has to react accordingly. But as the situation became known to him, he handled it about as poorly as he could and made himself look extraordinarily bad in the process.
  11. I liked how the Missouri fans were booing Buzz Williams/Marquette after the game. Clearly, the clock operator was doing a poor job, and Buzz had a gripe. I was under the impression it was the Marquette fans booing the non-call on the three at the end....
  12. Woulda been nice to have the chance to find out though Oh, absolutely. Can't say I've ever seen a game end that way. Hayward looked like he just lost his balance. Oddly, the Badgers actually had a similar finish vs. Tulsa in the 2nd round of the tourney a couple of years ago. Freddie Owens hit a late 3 to take the lead, and Tulsa stepped across the line to turn it back to the Badgers.
  13. Well, they were still down two at the time with 5.5 to play.... there's no guarantee they make the shot anyway.
  14. Sure would be nice if we would actually hit some shots, though.... One more time for emphasis. If they would just be shooting even 40%, they might have a reasonable lead in this one.
  15. Multiple offensive fouls on Xavier turn the momentum back around.... definitely like the pace of the game right now for the Badgers. Sure would be nice if we would actually hit some shots, though....
  16. As we are now telling folks in our Minor League Forum, the acquisition of Sergio Miranda has been completed Well, that shows me. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Nice first half for the Badgers. Ugly early on, but clamped down on the defense and the way the refs are calling the game is much more of an advantage to the Badgers' style of play than Xavier.
  18. And is there any update on this rumor? I don't want to badmouth NorthSideSox, but I just don't know why there would be zero news on this from Haudricourt if it were in fact, a done deal. Yeah, I really don't see how a player can be told he's been traded and have zero news on any move come out in four days.
  19. This come from behind win almost makes up for the painful losses where they had a decent lead late but couldn't hold on. And Matt LePay's call on the radio of the Hughes shot was one of his best ever....
  20. I guess fastball on every pitch without selecting a location, then react accordingly when it doesn't indicate a 4-seamer, knowing it'll be offspeed or breaking ball.
  21. It shouldn't have been, Yost was clearly a horrible manager. Probably was, but most of the stuff he was taking heat for are things that 95% of other MLB managers would do as well.
  22. In our apartment, we will see mold from time to time start to form on the ceiling in the bathroom. (We don't use our exhaust fan nearly enough) We just spray some cleaning stuff on it and clear it up. I think this is more likely mildew, which is a very minor type of mold that (as you mentioned) is extremely easy to remove and clean up. Usually when there are mold concerns in a house, I believe it's more likely black mold or a much more serious type of mold that's living in the structure, and a much more serious concern.
  23. Macha has already made a number of head scratching comments and he hasn't even managed a real game yet. Exactly why a lot of the Yost venom was puzzling last season. Different isn't always better.
  24. No they don't. Any book on managing people will tell you not to call out people in public much less in the press. This applies in sports as well as business. Doesn't Tony Larussa do it almost constantly every single season?
  25. He does have some pretty big pipes though. If my pipes were that big, I'd probably look at them a lot as well. Looking is one thing, I guess. Making out with yourself in a mirror is a bit different, I think.
