  1. Upon closer review by a second party, my 'no visible blisters' comment has been reversed.
  2. How old is your sunscreen? Bought it yesterday. I had no problems where I applied sunscreen. The problem was that I didn't apply sunscreen under my hair, as I apparently should have.
  3. I guess I was under the impression that a team in a postseason hunt didn't load up their bench, not that I am against it. I'd think because they're in a race makes in more likely to bring guys up. The last thing you'd want to have happen would be to lose an 18 inning game in mid/late September because you had to have Jeff Suppan hit in the top of the 18th with the bases loaded instead of Brad Nelson. Or more importantly, in the same scenario, blowing through your entire bullpen the day before the series with the Phillies or Cubs.
  4. It would make a lot of sense for the fluid to be coming from sunburn blisters. I assume that, other than the sunburn pain, you feel more or less normal. That is true. The odd thing is, that it really just looks like normal sunburn (ie, red but not absurdly red, no visible blisters, etc), so the seepage seems out of place. As I said before, I've been burnt before and had it look and hurt much more than this (though showering this morning hurt like hell), but the fluid is a totally foreign occurance. But thanks for the reassurances that it just happens sometimes.
  5. So, I went to the Badger game yesterday, and burn quite easily, so I put on tons of sunscreen and re-applied regularly, and for the most part came out without any issues. However, I didn't wear a hat, and managed to get burnt along my hairline where I had stopped putting sunscreen, as well as on the top back of my head where the small spot where my hair parts to different directions when gelled. (I apologize in advance for the gross-ness to come) Now, the sunburn looks fairly normal- it seems kind of red/pink, but nothing out of the ordinary. Last night, though, I noticed that a clear fluid was seeping from the burnt spot on the top of my head, as well as from a spot on the front of my hairline just behind the hair, and was still doing so when I got up this morning 7 hours later. Has anyone else ever had something like this? I'm reasonably concerned (since oozing fluid is probably not a good thing), but have no idea what is up.
  6. its takes them like 6 hours to install it. My parents had it put in and the guy was there pretty much all day on a saturday. Are they making the receiver boxes by hand at your house or something? I can't even begin to think what could take a cable installation that long.
  7. Depending on how quickly you need to get out of there and if you're good with walking, the general rule of thumb is that the quicker you need to be on the interstate, the further away from the stadium you should park. Just FYI, since it IS a Thursday night game....
  8. According to this link, both West Towne and Westgate have a Wisconsin Active Sportswear. In fact, there seems to be one almost anywhere you turn around in Madison. Yep. There's also a huge one just up from the Junction Road Target, but I don't remember seeing jerseys in that one.
  9. Did Ned just waste a bench player? Holy moly.
  10. Wisconsin Active Sports at West Towne had authentic retro's when I was there about 3-4 weeks ago. Dick's Sports also at West Towne had a surprisingly large selection of players in home jerseys, don't remember if there were retros or not though.
  11. I'm seeing 4.42 last year, 5.13 this year and 4.75 for his career. Hmm, there definitely is a discrepancy between THT and fangraphs.
  12. His FIP last year was 4.42, distinctly average. 4.30, actually: http://www.hardballtimes....rs/index.php?playerId=633
  13. And how can you say as stated above that Santana was not included? We don't know for sure, it's just my speculation. I'm not trying to pass my speculation off as fact.
  14. So it was reported on a talkshow in LaCrosse, but never made it anywhere else in the media. That seems like it was probably more of a discussion/speculation of what they might have been able to get instead of the Cordero deal, including speculation that they could have had Santana. Without anything saying that he was available, or offered, or that the Brewers turned it down, how can you present 'The Brewers could have had Ervin Santana but passed' as fact?
  15. Santana was not a minor leaguer and I remember clearly about Santana and the Brewers did not want him(Santana). Again, link? If that was the case, it should be out there somewhere.
  16. He also said that he took the Rangers offer because they were major leaguers. He was talking out of both sides of his mouth. He took the deal because he got major league players and they didn't want to give up on the playoffs but then he says a team wouldn't give up their top level minor-leaguers. Why do they have to be exclusive of each other. It could certainly be that "this was the best deal they could make" BECAUSE the Angels weren't offering their top level minor leaguers. The point remains, Postseason is trying to claim something as fact that is nothing more than unsubstantiated speculation without a link. The one that actually was provided said that the Angels weren't offering their top minor leaguers. If he wants to claim that the Brewers turned down a chance at Santana, he needs to provide something factual.
  17. Melvin said the Angels refused to part with their top-level minor-leaguers. Which almost certainly would have included Ervin Santana.
  18. We could've had Santana had not Melvin wanted major league players in return for Carlos Lee. Link? Otherwise, that's just speculation.
  19. Actually, I think most people claimed it would "wake up/fire up the team", which would seem to be arguable.
  20. Again....BREWERfan....... Again, you didn't see the "Tulowitzki should have been Rookie of the Year" or "Braun isn't deserving of an All-Star selection" threads on the Major League Forum. I wasn't kidding before, those were actual threads.
  21. And as for having a photo of him signing it, unless you somehow get in the picture or have a unique item, it really proves nothing. I see so many autographed items on ebay that come with "photo proof" and the proof is just of the person signing "something" (not necessarily the item being sold). \ Yeah, photo 'proof' is an absolute joke. Having a pic of Braun signing a ball just means that he signed a ball for somebody at some time. It doesn't prevent them from forging 5 other balls, and those being the ones they 'have the picture of'.
  22. Really, Weeks is the only major weak spot right now that isn't made up for by defense (like as in Jason Kendall's case) Third Base says hello. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. With both Cain and Gillespie now banged up near the end of their respective seasons and Green still on the DL, does that make LuCroy the choice by default? It really does make it all that more puzzling that Cleveland would want this to drag out so long, as you'd think they would have preferred to have the guy get acclimated to their organization and go on their development schedule. This whole thing is very odd to me.
