  1. I've had just about enough of Rickie Weeks- enough is enough, make a trade for an upgrade at 2nd, even if we have to give up someone like Salome.
  2. Considering Chase Utley is #1 somehow, I really wonder how they're defining 'dirty'.
  3. While Shouse's ERA has been great, it seems like he's allowed a ton of inherited runners to score in the last couple of weeks.
  4. i don't have a problem with people venting, but at least vent about the right thing. mota and gagne posts after last night? Again, this is the vent thread. That's their prerogative.
  5. My predictions: 1. The Brewers can't wait much longer for Weeks to figure things out, and deal for a 2nd baseman before the deadline. 2. The Brewers nab a big-ish named arm to help SOLVDD their 8th inning WOAHS. 3. Kapler ends up taking more playing time away from Cameron, eventually starting in CF ~3 times a week.
  6. 2) Guillermo Mota and Eric Gagne won't be on our active roster come September. I think this is both very possible and not all that bold. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The front office has shown that they will cut ties even with an expensive player if they're not doing the job. I think that it's almost certain in my mind that one of the two won't be on the 'playoff roster'.
  7. I guess we could put all the blame on Mc Clung for giving up the HR to Dunn and slam him. It's the vent thread- people are allowed to vent here about whatever they want whether it makes sense or not (within the TOS, of course).
  8. Sheets has only been healthy 2 seasons...his first one, and his contract year. He made 34 starts in each of 2002, 2003, and 2004, actually.
  9. I love these stretches where every freaking close call goes against us sooooo much....
  10. Cameron sure struggles out in CF for a guy that's good defensively.
  11. I've said it a couple of times lately, but for being so good in centerfield, Cameron sure does suck out there.
  12. I feel bad for Jenks too, but a .237 average would look pretty good for Cameron right about now. Except that Cameron is ahead of Jenkins in almost every other statistical category and missed a whole month to start the season. Geoff is having a pretty horrible year.
  13. His arb clock isn't really an issue at this point. He's cleared both deadlines (extra year of team control & Super-2 status) already this year. But considering that he's likely to spend at least some time in the minors next year, they could delay it ANOTHER year by calling him up next May ala Braun if they'd like. That said, one major bonus to calling him up August 31 is that he could be on the playoff roster if they wanted another lefty stick with some pop off the bench.
  14. Both National Treasure movies would probably go over very well.
  15. Haren, Harden, Harang... Whatever, some guy who throws a baseball. I guess Rich kind of sounds like Dan as well. At least Haren was a former A, even if he didn't pitch for them for a single inning this year since he's been pitching in Arizona this season. Would have been more embarrassing if he had said Aaron Harang.
  16. Chicago followed the Brewers' acquisition of Sabathia by trading for Oakland ace Dan Haren but Yost said he gave no thought to that tit-for-tat. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=771022 I know some people feel this board is overly hard on the JS coverage of the Brewers/Tom H, but that's just completely inexcusable.
  17. Sherrill is a great idea if he's available- he's been solid in each of his 3 full seasons in the bigs, in the AL. Considering he'd be ours for 2.5 years, it seems like a good target.
  18. It's an easy thing for Mark A. to claim when he doesn't have to prove it. Doesn't Forbes release each team's profitability each year?
  19. Absolutely unreal. You have to be blind or a complete dope to miss that call.
  20. How sure are we about the pieces of this trade? ESPN reported this morning that its LaPorta, Cain, Green, and a PTBNL...? ESPN has been wrong about the trade and most everything leading up to it all weekend. Why should that change now, I guess?
  21. Yes. used the wrong quote last post :P Is it a safe guess that one of the 'finalists' is Green, while the other is not your client?
  22. You'd be wrong in this case. It most certainly will be an impact player. Is this a situation where you have an idea who it's going to be regardless, but haven't been told for sure?
  23. really? I know Cain is higher on the P50, but I'd rather have Bryson than him, especially considering the team needs I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as a pitching prospect in the lower minors. I'll take a bat that's performing well there over an arm any day.
  24. Fantastic trade as it stands now. Even if Green ends up as the PTBNL, Jackson/Bryson is still a heck of a lot better than giving Cain, and much, much better than the brief LuCroy rumors. Very pumped about this move.
