  1. You cant trade players on the DL, he will be out past the trade deadline. He is actually eligible to come of the DL next Tuesday the 24, so he can pretty much be activated whenever the Rangers would like prior to the deadline at that point.
  2. Nike did finally decide to delay the Vick shoe.
  3. So, here's what apparently happened here: Random Cincy talkshow guy posts unfounded rumor on his blog. We discuss it here. WSSP sees discussion here, reports it on air. Brewerfan reports WSSP reporting, along with people's reports from the game and friends/relatives/barbers reporting that they're hearing this is kind of credible (probably due to hearing it on WSSP). WSSP continues to elevate the rumors to 'close to done', probably in large part due to the discussion/rumors here. ESPN hears Milwaukee radio reporting the trade, and congratulations, we've helped churn a rumored trade into one where we're getting a big-time player on national airtime!
  4. Two quick thoughts: I did think it was odd that Balfour was used last night before Wise. This might be a reasonable explanation for that. Also, you'd have to think that if we're moving a pen arm, this is a good indicator that another pen trade is in the works to shortly follow.
  5. The good news is that Nike still plans on releasing the Michael Vick signature shoe in a couple of weeks! In other news, Nike apparently still thinks its 2002.
  6. Student loans are probably worth every penny, as the education/degree you get will likely make up for the cost. Considering that most loans are also incredibly low interest, it's probably an easy decision, especially considering that you're going to have little in terms of student loan debt overall thanks to your first three years. Definitely look into the subsidized Stafford if you have the option, as then the interest/payments are deferred until you're out of school, IIRC.
  7. Are those numbers based on career numbers, or this year?
  8. Rickie needs to hit the DL if he's still not feeling right, or AAA. 2 for his last 46 is a heck of a slump.
  9. He's made for the Brew Crew, a big fat windmill ....that can really hit and would do wonders for this offense. I agree completely.
  10. Adam Dunn would do wonders for this offense.
  11. If it's available online, we ask you to provide links, instead of cutting and pasting. But if you wanted to do things like that for the radio ones like the Cubs one, that shouldn't be a problem.
  12. we really don't have an infield prospect that's expendable. Escobar is incredibly expendable.
  13. In other news, the 'prospect' is Ryan Braun. Seriously, that would be highway robbery. Almost hard to believe it's actually coming from a Reds' talk radio site, as usually rumors that are that one-sided come from the team getting the great side of it.
  14. Tonight's outing is why you don't give up/trade a guy just because of a rough stretch. It's not like he suddenly got whacked with the crappy stick. Get him a win!
  15. Two first-pitch outs following a walk where Davis wasn't even close to the plate and is clearly fading. Ugh.
  16. Yeah, pretty tough not to agree that any possible defensive issues that arise from Graffy in LF are far outweighed by not having to watch an already slumping Jenkins flail wildly at a LHP.
  17. Supposedly he was being offered/looked at as a possible return in the Overbay deal, IIRC. The Brewers went with Bush/Jackson/Gross instead. Not sure how close/serious the actual discussions were at the time.
  18. There's some really strange reporting going on here. Directly from the CNN.com story: Chris Benoit's body contained an "elevated" level of testosterone and therapeutic levels of Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, Sperry said. But, he said, the level of testosterone revealed nothing conclusive about the wrestler's state of mind before his death. "There's no reliable scientific data that says elevated levels of testosterone lead to psychotic rage," Sperry said. "The only thing we can ascertain is that this level of testosterone indicates that he had been using testosterone at least in some reasonably short period of time before he died," he said. "It could be an indication he was being treated for testicular insufficiency." The investigators found no other drugs, including steroids, in Benoit's body. ESPN's article: Pro wrestler Chris Benoit had a steroid and other drugs in his system when he killed his wife and young son last month and hanged himself in the family's home, investigators said Tuesday. Benoit's body contained 10 times the normal level of testosterone, as well as amounts of the anti-anxiety drug Xanax and the painkiller hydrocodone, authorities said. Those two articles seem incredibly contradictory, or at least the tone in which they were reported was practically the opposite.
  19. Too bad that Melvin can only carry 100lbs back to the wagon.
  20. Bruce- Not to get you worried, but today Melvin tried to ford the Snake River, and his freaking oxen died.
  21. Looks like for all the play the media gave this as a 'roid-rage induced killing spree' and such, no steroids were found in his system. I guess the media outlets will have to correct themselves and acknowledge that he might just have been nuts, but they won't.
  22. The problem is is that he's that good and so won't be traded by anything like a functioning team. Good thing we're talking about the Orioles then.
  23. BBTN FINALLY with the correction. Talk about clueless- find ONE place that Marshall's name came up at all, despite Raevitch's claim that the "initial reports said Marshall was in the deal".
  24. Melvin makes another great trade for the Brewers! Oh, wait..... So Rob Bowen WASN'T an upgrade from Barrett? Boy, are Cubs fans going to be pissed when they realize Kendall isn't an upgrade from Bowen.
  25. Braun is a beast. I mean is it too early to think ROY and MVP in the same year? Fred Lynn move over! http://www.conelrad.com/mutatedtelevision/images/herman_leo_1.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
