  1. If this is supposed to be fun, I'm pretty sure we're not doing it right.
  2. Looks like peavy needs perfect examples. No, just ones that are somewhere even remotely close to being apt, thanks.
  3. Yeah. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. im refering to the top pitching prospect comment. nuggy was once, doesnt mean you name someone a top picthing prospect they are or will be. Neugebauer blew out his arm. Your comparison is a poor one, that's my point.
  5. So, any discussion thread starting a topic on how we treat the rest of the season is considered as a "vent"? Your topic covered four specific topics that are being discussed to death on these boards- Ned Yost and his future, Cordero's struggles/contract, the bullpen's struggles, and Weeks' struggles. Considering it was also venting, creating a separate topic was unnecessary.
  6. Sorry but I'll go get Nick Nuggy instead because he was once a "Top Pitching Prospect". Yeah, because a guy not one year removed from being a top pitching prospect is equal to a guy that's been out of baseball for 5 years. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  7. Too bad we traded for Linebrink, as it's not like we need the bullpen help. And it's not like 5 of the 6 losses on this road trip have been leads blown late by the pen or in extra innings....
  8. This really belongs in the vent thread, IGT, or a number of other places. Yost is being discussed everywhere, as are Weeks' struggles and Cordero's situations.
  9. I'm saying that if charges can be brought against someone committing a crime for the death of someone who is helping them commit said crime (when that person is clearly involved in the crime, and is there by choice), why wouldn't it be possible for said person to be charged with the deaths of bystanders, whether killed by accident (wrong place wrong time), or there by choice? If you can be charged for the death of someone who is also committing a felony, why would the reach of the law lessen for someone who was there innocently regardless of choice? It doesn't make sense. Hope that helps.
  10. Heads up play by the batter, but I think he's out the second he leaves the box and heads towards the dugout, as he's out of the baseline.
  11. Har har. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. How do you figure that Peavey, as a party to commit the crime, he/she has been intimately involved. I think that's exactly what I said.... not sure where the confusion is coming from, honestly.
  13. They didn't inadvertently become involved in it like a driver or pedestrian could have been. Neither did the accomplice. That's my point.
  14. If we traded Cordero and Gwynn and only got Dye back, I'd scream. And, I think we'd be trading Cordero low, at a fraction of his potential value.
  15. I don't think an accomplice is by any stretch an innocent bystander though. Clearly not. But the point is that if someone who is CLEARLY involved dies and the culprit can be charged for his death, why wouldn't it be the same for someone who wasn't involved in the crime but became a part of the pursuit?
  16. Ry, I can't imagine those rules would apply in a situation where the "innocent bystander" willingly make themselves involved (for lack of a better word) in the crime. As he said in his first post though, if an accomplice to a crime is killed during the committing of the crime, the criminal that survived can be charged with his death, and an accomplice is obviously willingly involved in the crime.
  17. I think it's an interesting comparison. As I said before, we haven't gotten even close to the worse end of a trade to this point, and I have every confidence in our scouting/front office staff, so it'll be interesting to see what Inman ends up doing. That said, the Braves probably do get more hype being in both a larger market that has already won a ton while developing some great players, but with some winning and our guys hopefully sticking and continuing to dominate in the Majors, hopefully we can get to the Braves' status as far as perception.
  18. It's absolutely infuriating after a loss like this to hear people calling in to TMJ this afternoon complaining that Ned "always pulls his starting pitchers too early", when those were likely the same people that were complaining about Ned leaving Bush/Cappy/Vargas/whomever in TOO LONG not 1 month ago.
  19. The Sexson trade was OK, but really Moeller, Spivey Counsell, and De La Rosa didn't pan out. De la Rosa turned into Graffy, so that part is still helping the team. Spivey turned into Ohka which really helped the Brewers for a bit. Really, only Moeller didn't pan out, but that's probably the law of averages in a trade. I really can't think of a trade where another team has gotten the best of us under Melvin, so he's earned the benefit of the doubt.
  20. As a reminder, please keep political agendas out of this discussion, thanks.
  21. Burrell also has a no-trade clause that he's exercised in the past.
  22. everybody sucks against the Cubs, but not against us.
  23. Dunn coming out in the 7th of a close game is very, very suspicious.
  24. is weeks involved? Inside info teaser, or just totally random? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
