  1. Who does Bryant replace at this point?
  2. Hiura does need to finish the minor league season in AAA. I’m confident he can still figure this out, but the Brewers don’t have the luxury of letting him try to do so on the Major League roster. Adding Escobar today should be the last we see if Keston until September.
  3. I do wonder if we’ll see some minor deals to move a guy like Vogelbach out today. If nothing else, it would be great to get even a lottery ticket for Shaw.
  4. Seems like an odd way to look at it. I’m glad Tellez is locked in, and I’m hopeful that he’s performing at the level he had been prior to his slow start to 2021.
  5. Yeah. I’m expecting a reliever or two, but if there’s somehow a big deal today, it seems like it would be for a SP.
  6. Darvish is a Padre, just for the record.
  7. I mean, yes they may not take that deal. None of those prospects are as highly regarded or as close to contributing as Ruiz/Gray are. So yes, it's very likely that the Dodgers beat that deal by adding a couple of additional prospects to them.
  8. For context, Ruiz is their top position prospect and Gray is their top pitcher. Both Top 50 prospects in MLB.
  9. But his career numbers are indeed skewed because of his rookie season as I said in the rest of my post. I apologize for using some instead of one if it caused confusion. I meant in as ‘a non specific amount’ as allowable by the Oxford dictionary.
  10. What FIP calculation? B Ref shows his lowest as this year at 3.56. The lowest before (and most seasons were close to it too) 3.84. That isn’t significant to me. If 3.56 isn’t significant to you, I guess we’ll have to disagree.
  11. Berrios’s FIP number is skewed by his rookie season. All other seasons except one have him below 4, some pretty significantly.
  12. He wasn't. But why is it fair to blame the current guy in charge for the 'sins' of his predecessor? And hasn't everything we've heard this offseason been about the disconnect between Rodgers and Gute? If one of your big complaints is that the guy that preceded him didn't re-sign your friends, that's a bit of an odd axe to grind with the current GM.
  13. Ok guys, back to rumors. Let's make one more attempt to keep this thread from derailing yet again....
  14. Yep. I think the Bradley as backup move has officially clanked. If they can find SOME way to move his salary in the next day, I'd be beyond thrilled.
  15. Your move Stearns. I think that's what Stearns said to Preller when he acquired Adames. Too bad for the Padres that it took them two months to respond....
  16. You know, I thought that after the press conference yesterday and I'm surprised it hasn't gotten more media play- he's putting the blame on the current FO for things that Thompson did. Yes, Gute was here during that time, but he wasn't calling the shots and thus far has managed the team differently than Thompson did.
  17. Cobb may not be old, but he hasn't been effective in a while. If Adams had shown a similar trajectory at this point, I'd be very concerned.
  18. Berrios to the Brewers would seem possible only if it ends up being a larger deal that includes Donaldson, etc. I'd think then you might see the Brewers more willing to pony up, but I don't think it's hard to think someone would be able to trump the Brewers' offer if they wanted to.
  19. I really don't think you can say that when they've signed 12 of 20 thus far and still have five left to go.
  20. Kennedy has been a VERY effective reliever since moving to the pen. He'd be an excellent addition and Texas should be motivated to move him this week.
  21. My completely unfounded but potentially legitimate fear is that Rodgers forces 8 balls a game to an aging, ineffective Cobb to try and prove himself right.
  22. Really does make you wonder why the Cubs are holding off so long on the real part of their sale.
  23. How sad is it, though, that with Nightengale we’re just not entirely sure?
  24. Cobb trade officially complete for a 6th rounder. Houston is retaining a portion of Cobb’s salary to offset the cap add for Green Bay.
