  1. Bingo. Also, Bowden is a yutz.
  2. He’s graded out as pretty average as a 3B thus far, so there’s legitimate optimism that he could be really good there with more consistent reps.
  3. If he's correct it won't be too cost prohibitive to acquire a bat or 2 to lengthen the bench/pair up with Rowdy at 1st. My goodness do I want to acquire Gallo. Positional flexibility, great defense, and not a rental. Add in his lack of LH/RH split differences and power, and he’s the bat I want. Him and Rowdy at 1st, with Gallo rotating into the OF when Rowdy plays first.
  4. As noted, not HUGE moves, but why are the Yankees moving MLB assets while only 2.5 out of the wildcard?
  5. A lot of them are wearing ‘contact tracing badges’ that track proximity and time.
  6. Issued a nice request to stay on topic earlier. Not such a nice request now since that was ignored.
  7. Not surprised, IMO. I’m certain the Brewers have made inquiries about all of the above and Scherzer. Question is who they’re still in on after that initial discussion….
  8. Indeed I’ve modified my post above to be more accurate.
  9. Williams activated, Perdomo down.
  10. Blake Bortles released this afternoon.
  11. Sounds like this is as close to a TBA/bullpen game as it gets right now…
  12. Ok guys, probably worth noting that this thread is the place to discuss factual items related to the Yelich situation and isn’t going to be a place for opinions regarding the virus, vaccines, etc. Mod tolerance of anything else will be nonexistent. Thanks for keeping this thread on track.
  13. Just putting it here because it’s being reported widely, but Yelich is both vaccinated and symptomatic.
  14. Well, there’s your Cain activation move….
  15. Worth noting in that link is Rosenthal’s belief in a previous tweet that it seems unlikely that Scherzer makes his Thursday start.
  16. Crossing my fingers for this one. Would obviously give us an epic starting rotation and I don’t think it would cost THAT much since he’s a rental. An epic starting roatation, but still lacking an impact bat. I'd hate to get Scherzer, only to lose a lot of his starts 2-1, 3-1, etc. If we are going to have a rotation like that, or even if we stand pat with Woodruff, Burnes, and Peralta, we MUST add an impact bat, a guy that makes a true difference, not a Cron type. The offense has been sufficient since the Adames trade. A lesser-type acquisition at 1B could be enough of an upgrade to push them over the top with that rotation.
  17. Maryland has been a plus for basketball at least. You’d have to consciously choose b-ball over football if you’re adding Kansas and the like as well.
  18. Sounds like all reports are that a Scherzer trade from the Nats is now viewed as likely, rather than just a possibility. NTC issues would need to be worked through, obviously.
  19. Major Tuesday storylines- Osaka upset and gone, Biles leaves competition due to a health issue.
  20. Yeah, let’s try to keep this a discussion of actual potential targets. We’re just repeating the philosophy discussion over and over anyway.
  21. Fixed it for you. I can only assume these people are clearing out room in their closet next to that Favre Jets jersey that they’re too embarrassed to take to Goodwill.
  22. …. Or perhaps the demands were truly horrible for the Brewers? What if the Rockies asked for Hader in return for Story? Brewers inquire, Rockies put out a huge demand, no deal is made. I’d bet that’s how 80% of phone calls go this week. Not ‘gun shy’ at all. But I already said it's not like they will have to give up one of the 3 pitchers(Woody, Burnes, Peralta) or any other untouchables in the deal(Hader is in this category). But you also bring up another point..I can totally see Stearns and co doing this...they call the Rockies about Story, Rockies say "it will take Hader". Brewers say "okay thank you" and move on, rather then even engaging them in real negotiations to see if they can come to some sort of an agreement on terms both can agree with. You can't just hang up and figure the cost is too expensive, without even trying to negotiate. That's being gun shy. Again, I can totally see Stearns and co doing this in some situations. As this is literally your own conjecture based on a scenario you invented, I don’t think you can ‘see’ anyone doing anything.

  24. A bit more context would certainly be appreciated. I’m just gonna say it’s fake. That’s all. Don’t imply insider information here without explaining to the mods privately how you’re able to obtain it.
