  1. You aren't the only one I'm guessing Phillips vs. Jansen will be a massive mismatch, but you never know.
  2. Better find a way to scratch out one more in the 8th, otherwise it's Jansen vs. the bottom of our order in the 9th.
  3. That nice looking 18 game over. 500 record has already been cut by a third, and may be cut in half by the end of this series. I do wonder how long those who don't understand why many of us just expect the Brewers to fail in the end no matter how well things are going have actually been watching this franchise.
  4. Why, he hasn't earned a call back yet, and from the looks of things, he still isn't right... Free Phillips! Also hasn't played worth a damn this year. None of the options are good.
  5. You're about to eat your words here Nah buddy. I wonder how secretly annoyed Derek Johnson is with Darnell Coles.
  6. Yep. I'm ok that he pulled Miley, I get it, but like Knebel last game, absolutely no response to a reliever clearly not having his good stuff on a particular night. Counsell is a good enough manager but has zero feel and recognition for when a guy in his pen isn't right.
  7. For a guy who was absolutely terrified to let Taylor Williams pitch to a lefty when he was having a good night, Counsell sure has no qualms about doing it when he's getting rocked.
  8. Machado has reached all 4 times tonight. Pretty much exactly how we all figured it was going to go.
  9. Saladino unfortunately is a guy who is overdue for a massive crash back to earth.
  10. Could really have had a nice inning there if we could avoid shooting ourselves in the foot.
  11. It's hard not to. These guys are bad at their jobs and it's really become a problem. Or they've always been bad and it's just more exposed now in this era of modern technology. Either way, there are plenty of ways to get a more accurate strike zone if these guys can't do their jobs properly.
  12. Good to hear the zone is in fact as bad as Gameday is making it out to be.
  13. Travis going fishing. Not sure Hill is a guy you really want to start him against, but the options right now aren't many.
  14. I was afraid of that. It's incredulous and just makes us our fanbase look really dumb. Boo him over something he had absolutely zero control over? Okay guys.
  15. agreed. 26 pitches on Tueday should not make him unavailable on Friday. Get him back out there and see what happens. Counsell has already said straight up he's not pitching tonight.
  16. But we would still have to worry about a 2B and at least one starting pitcher if this were to happen. I'm not sure this kind of a trade puts us any more ahead of where we would be if we just hang onto Hiura, our 2B of the future, and Woodruff, who just really needs to be part of our rotation now! Kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul, or something like that. Well that's why if we did get Realmuto I'd really like to try to get Castro in it as well. Castro isn't great, but definitely above average and his salary should make his trade price pretty reasonable. Starting pitching yes, but I guess I'm looking more to 2019 and 2020 with this with a "hope for the best" attitude about 2018. That's why keeping Peralta and Burnes would be ideal to have both next year plus a healthy Jimmy Nelson. I think Medeiros could end up being a Josh Hader type as early as next year perhaps.
  17. Basically not ready emotionally tonight or something. I just hope this doesn't tailspin into a nightmare second half of the season for him.
  18. I make that deal every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I would as well. I also don't think we can assume the Realmuto packsge should be lighter than Yelich based solely on control. We also need to account for the fact that Realmuto is one of the best, if not THE best player at his position -- not to mention a far more premium position than corner OF. Yelich is simply a good player at his position. So even though Yelich came with far more control, I think the position premium puts them on pretty level ground as far as value. And 2.4 years, while you'd like more, is still substantial. 3 pennant races and no need to worry about catcher until 2021. Ideally it would be nice if you traded for Realmuto to do a deal with him where you bought out his arbitration plus one or two free agency years, but I doubt he would go for that.
  19. When is the last time Braun has been hot for a week or two? lol When he was in Arizona for 3 games followed by a 4 game series in San Diego.
  20. The thing is, even as good as Hiura is, and as sure as he feels, I sometimes think we forget that he isn't a sure thing. I think the injury concerns that some have are fair. Some have already anointed him a star, but he's not. He could be a star, or he could be an injury riddled bust. More likely than probably either is him turning out to be a modestly above average 2B, maybe .290/.350/.400 with average defense. I guess it would depend on both how sold we are on that star ceiling and how concerned we are about him sticking at 2B. I personally would be okay trading him for Realmuto who is already a star at his position and somewhat controlled, but I can understand why others wouldn't.
