I'm honestly thinking if Pina gets out I might go to Braun and just try to get the lead here. Chase has not been good today despite the low pitch count and you have a very rested pen.

Villar isn't an elite defender, but from what I see he's come a long ways. He's become fairly sure-handed at 2nd, and I saw him make a play just last inning that Braun definitely doesn't get to. I'd probably put him in the 'slightly above average' category at this point. I guess my question to you would be, if you're really looking to significantly upgrade the offense and are willing to do so at the expense of infield defense occasionally, why aren't you just giving him those innings at SS?

Nice to tie it back up, but we should be winning this thing. Now 0 for 6 with runners in scoring position. Getting to Nola today, but not getting that big hit with RISP.

Through 2 innings, already 0 for 4 with RISP with a GIDP and a K. Won't beat Nola if they don't start picking some of those up.

Wow, that was an incredibly difficult piece of 0-2 opposite field hitting by Perez. He has looked like a different guy lately.

Never understand why professional baseball players look back at the catcher when stealing a base. Lol.

Braun: .245/.300/.446/.746, 0.4 bWAR Villar: .272/.320/.402/.723, 0.8 bWAR The offensive upgrade here isn't enough to justify the enormous hit you'll take defensively and the higher rate of injury you'll have to Braun. You're not replacing Arcia's offense here.

Yeah Thames leading off was fine when we really had no one else that made sense for the role. When you have Cain or Yelich for it I don't really get it.

Well, Counsell was asked yesterday about putting Logan in lesser roles and he basically said that no he can't do that, that if Logan is going to be here he needs to do his job and get those outs. It was about as openly critical as I've heard Counsell get to the media anoutva player. Makes me wonder how many more chances he has left.

Great. Glad you two are on board with scoring more runs. Guess you missed the IGT yesterday and all those comments. You must love conflict. Literally no reason for you to jump at me over anything I said. #1, as you and I both know, the IGT is always based on spur of the moment reactions, #2, why are you posting those offensive concerns here then in the Logan thread? #3, sorry you feel jumped on over this and that I am seeking conflict. Didn't think that pointing out that we were all just discussing Logan's future as is appropriate in this thread and mentioning no one was saying Counsell cost us the game here was really all that bad.
