  1. Sanchez hasn’t been worth a thing since the first two weeks of the season. He can’t hit, he can’t challenge, and his glove isn’t great.
  2. Rengifo couldn’t clear the fence at your local park ballfield.
  3. Kind of would have just liked to see us keep taking until 2 strikes. That was Ball 3.
  4. Rengifo reminding us that he’s equally as useless with the bat as he is with the glove.
  5. So Abner makes an inappropriate gesture and gets a game, PCA literally speaks the same gesture to an actual fan and gets nothing? Burn him for 2 innings tonight where he wouldn’t go tomorrow anyway and then drop the appeal.
  6. me scrolling through MLBtraderumors.com on the team day off and not seeing any of “Brewers option Blake Perkins,”, “Brewers option Sal Frelick”, “Brewers option David Hamilton” or “Brewers DFA Luis Rengifo”.
  7. I assure you that nothing could be further from the minds of either side. We will however get to hear them posture and tell the public repeatedly over the next 8 months how awful and greedy and unreasonable the other side is while they bicker on how they should split up a multi billion dollar pie and we smile and nod as we put $4.50 gas into our cars.
  8. One proposal I saw for Skubal was Jett, Lara and Gasser. Would you do it if that was the price? Gasser is whatever to me, they can have him. Jett hurts, but they also have the organizational depth elsewhere in the farm to absorb that loss. I think Lara would hurt me more than Jett, but it seems like he’s blocked anyway. The big benefit is obviously keeping your top 2 prospects. If Skubal, Miz and Harrison carry you to a World Series, it’s worth it - but you could make the deal and easily still go no further than last year.
  9. Luis Lara is batting .346. Not his OBP. His batting average. Can we please find a spot for this man?
  10. I am not saying that the core of all this premise is wrong, but I do believe that meeting a Dodgers team for a series in May or August isn’t the same as meeting them in October even if the roster is similar. Call it playoff experience, call it intangibles, call it just finding another gear, I don’t really know what it is. But I think there’s definitely a difference.
  11. Unfortunately they also have a Miz and their Miz is also a better hitter than anyone in our lineup. When the Dodgers signed Ohtani that was probably the biggest disruption to the balance of large market/small market in a long time. How the Angels managed to accomplish nothing in all their years of trotting out both Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani has to be studied. I guess they are just that incompetent.
  12. I’ve had him on ignore for some time now, but it’s a limited option. Every time a post is quoted (which I obviously don’t blame anyone else for doing, it’s just part of the functionality of the board), I can see his posts anyway.
  13. If you read his posting history this was actually among his top 10 best posts.
  14. All three of the plays (the double, the bunt single and the error in the 8th), were all probably playable with good defense. Kind of crazy the minuscule difference there between a 2-1 win and taking a no-hitter into the bottom of the 9th.
  15. Thank you. I can totally believe that there was some misinterpretations of intent, and I’m not excusing Abner’s actions, but I certainly wasn’t buying the idea that he decided to make up some big lie on the fly. No, he still shouldn’t have done it but obviously judging by the lack of drama today the Cardinals at least had some understanding of how things escalated and it wasn’t just some random thing.
  16. Is there a limit to how long Priester can be on “rehab assignment”? Because he doesn’t look remotely close.
  17. Well, he’s certainly not just going to be cut loose. But — optioning him should be on the table.
  18. I was thinking this was one of the shortest games I’ve ever seen. Then I remembered it started at 12:40, not 1:10.
  19. Have the Cardinals batters won more challenges today than ours have won all season?
  20. He’s definitely available and he’d usually be the guy. It does feel like Murphy chickened out a bit.
  21. If it looks like he didn’t check his swing, and you tell us it looks like he didn’t check his swing, the least you could do is show us.
  22. Have the Cardinals set an MLB record for successful challenges today?
