  1. Frelick puts together 7 pitches of a really good AB only to swing at a pitch a foot out of the strike zone on pitch 8 and pop up pitch 9.
  2. Is the lack of power just mostly from not having Chourio and Vaughn and Yelich most of the year? The Yankees having 60 something HRs to our 20 something is kind of crazy.
  3. On our coaching staff for Harrison not being prepped on that.
  4. Remember when we used to complain that we can’t score unless we hit home runs? I would take some of those home runs.
  5. He is? I think Frelick has been one of the most heavily criticized offensive players so far this season, and rightfully so.
  6. If there’s anything wrong with him, the Brewer hitters aren’t aware of it.
  7. Cabellero did him some favors, but nice job working out of it.
  8. Terrible challenge, and woof, Kyle does not look sharp right now.
  9. I think we probably offer long-term deals to more of our young talent than we are made aware of. It is wonderful that we were able to sign Chourio and I do think the Pratt deal will end up being worthwhile as well. It always takes two to tango on these deals. Some players are thrilled to just lock in long-term security early on when they’re still relatively unproven and willing to leave a lot of potential earnings on the table to lock in the security now, and that’s great. Others are probably content betting on their talent and willing to risk going year to year for their pre-arb and arb seasons. That’s fine too. It’s a matter of personal preference for the player and that’s a private matter between them, their family, and their agent so again I would speculate that we probably do try these deals a lot but don’t always get a bite.
  10. Is his OPS versus righties negative?
  11. I agree with you . The Durbin trade looks like a homerun so far. This trade doesn’t look good, but by no means am I bumping it to criticize the FO or say that Arnold isn’t doing a good job. We often praise the ones that work out, so it’s only fair to note the ones that don’t. No one is batting 1.000, but Arnold is batting above league average. They clearly loved something they saw in Zerpa and were willing to overpay for it thinking they could fix him. Hopefully, lesson learned.
  12. Expected, but still — booooooooo. There are at least 2-3 guys in AAA that have earned an opportunity over him at this point.
  13. I think you know that’s the not the point of what I said. It could have been done in March and not spent a million dollars for literally nothing.
  14. Mears has 1.93 ERA. Collins has a really rough start to the season and is now up to a 111 OPS+. This one is looking really, really rough. Both Mears and Collins would have been useful so far this season.
  15. So we for all metaphorical purposes just lit 1 million dollars on fire for no reason at all. That’s healthy cap management.
  16. If it were based on merit and production and who deserves it, it would 100% be Lara. Because Lara isn’t on the 40, Yelich is already close to returning and it’s simple and cleaner, it’ll be Perkins.
  17. Probably one of the most complete and satisfying wins of the season, though those 4 runs in the second were pretty infuriating if you’re the other team. A little bizarre to be on pace for exactly 90 wins and feel like it’s kind of been a struggle this year.
  18. Yeah it’s fine IMO… it doesn’t mean that best wishes don’t go out to Lockridge. It means roster decisions will result. He's not dying. Looks serious and long-term, but career ending is highly speculative. I remember when Yelich completely smashed his kneecap some years back. My guess is Perkins is back up for a bit and then back down when Yelich returns. Black probably stays for now.
  19. Gotta be hitting the bottle tonight or being sarcastic. I’ve never heard anyone describe Giannis like this. Did he use his position to influence team moves to an unfortunate end? Possibly, but my presumption is that he had the best of intentions and probably has some regret about it. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen an NBA superstar more humble and less diva-like.
