  1. 9 pm sounds a bit late, but I'm 90% sure the two of us will be there. *Jimbo pats self on back for location suggestion*.
  2. Pooley's is a strong candidate for our shindig. Now that I think of it, I recall they offer a private room. But would that take away from the ambiance?
  3. I can think of a couple of places by East Towne, but they're clubs and not bars. The Short Stop in Cottage Grove is where the Home Talent team hangs out. My dad and I go there on occassion. What's that place by 151 - Poole's?
  4. You mean like the student section at most every Badger event that has an organized student section? For me this goes back 25 years, when a certain school in the Big Eight Conference did it and no one else did. Now everyone does it. I don't even bother going to high school games anymore...you can't see around them. My folks drove all the way down to catch the Wisconsin-Purdue football game and the same thing. The students were standing, so they had to stand to see around them. Drove all the way down there for that. Had a simialr situation in 97 at Northwestern...two girls (only) were ready to stand, but those of us behind put an end to that.
  5. When people feel the need to stand during sporting events. I don't mean just when an exciting play happens, but when they stand for the entire contest.
  6. By the end of the week I hope to have every set from 1978 - 2006. I have nearly every Topps set going back to 1970 (plus most other primary sets to 1981). Just need a few more. Let's see who gets there first!
  7. Disregard as in you're no longer in Madison, or disregard your absence?
  8. The Twins with the 5th best record in the AL winning the World Series in1987 still bugs me. I'm glad the A's eliminated them. When people say the Brewers haven't been a contender since 1982 when they made serious playoff runs in 1983, 1987, 1988, 1992.
  9. What bugs me? Very few things, so it took me a while to come up with a list. 1. Poor cell phone ettiquette (driving, everywhere else) 2. Throwing stuff out the car window. 3. Chicago traffic. 4. Wisconsin DOT's inability to place white-on-green "Wisconsin State Line" signs at the Wisconsin state line.
  10. I believe th current TV contract calls for 56 30-second commercials. Hey, you gotta fit them in somehow.
  11. My Name is Earl and The Office are the first new comedies tv series I've liked in years and it looks like they are trying to destroy one of them. Nowadays these are the only two network sitcoms I bother to watch. NBC seems to agree, evident by the 50 foot tall ad I snapped this summer. http://my.execpc.com/~silkey/060706_02.JPG I don't quite the role of Dwight. I know he's somewhat the "straight" man opposed to Jim and he's the office brown-noser, but I don't get his over-the-top antics. Who works with anybody like that? Given all the other characters are realistic.
  12. I don't think we planned anything for this weekend since it's the holiday. Jamie was shooting for a scrimmage vs. Landmark next weekend.
  13. Dane County = pop, pen, aunt, grandma Milwaukee County = soda, ink pen, auntie, nana Spending in both loacles, I need to be aware of my company and the words I use.
  14. Why not just pitch until contact is made? It's just practice, and nobody comes out ahead if one is only allowed one whiff. Plus, we're playing co-ed. I'd be a more accurate pitcher if I moved ten feet closer to the plate.

    Game 10 recap

He mentioned something about White House spiking one of their players, although I don't really recall that happening. I think that may have been that crazy play where the guy was thrown out at the plate, the most crucial play of the game. Then the delay, upon which I made my now infamous comment.

    Bad Sport

Just be glad we don't have to play this guy's team. www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=475630 Where's the love?
  17. Final Standings I put an asterix next to bay Street Pub. We can speak of them in the same breath with Roger Maris. ---------- Final Statistics By looking at the final OPS, I'd say we have three above average hitters and three guys just below average. Our SLG is way lower than out opponents. Our BB:K ration isn't good, either. We need a to add a couple of big sticks next year. Anyone reading this know of anyone? ---------- But some positive news. I propose some end-of-the-year awards: Silver Bat Award bball123h led the team with a .556 average. Louisville Slugger Award Houlie24x 1.621 OPS led the way. He was our one true power hitter. Cy Young Award Brewer Fever's ERA of 8.77. Golden Glove Awards Brian and Zak for flawless fielding this season. Bill Hall Award nullbyte for hitting .750 when putting the ball in play. Geoff Jenkins Award DougJones43 for three outfield assists. Executive Of The Year Award Brewerjamie15 for putting this team together. In Desparate Need Of A Life Award Jimbo for spending way too much time doing nerdy stuff like this. Anybody think of any others?
  18. The guys from White House put themselves in an early hole, but fought and clawed their way back into it. But in the end, it was too much B.S. The only good thing to come out of it was the Brewerfan Nation was situated behind the WH bench and took advantage to give the B.S.'ers a good razzin' the whole game. Made for good therapy after all the B.S. the league had to put with all summer. Edit: those in attendance could see why these are the two best teams in the league. Neither pitcher issued a walk, only three strikeouts. Both left fielder's flashing the leather. The standard has been set, now Brewerfan.net needs to go for it. Box 1st Inning ? 19. Final: B.S. Pub 18, Brewerfan.net 2 Post-season bash held at White House. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif It was a great seson guys! Let's do this again next summer! Box As you can see from the recap, I'm 95% certain the 3-4-5 guys didn't always bat in the same order. I didn't take complete notes in the first inning, so I'm not fully certain. I dropped the ball and I apologize. Next time I will pay closer attention, even taking pictures of each hitter to verify consistent order. 1st Inning ? 20. Our original Colorado plan called for us to see the Iowa scrubs tonight, but instead we drove straight home from Denver. Man, I'm exhausted. Holy smokes. I drove from Ogalala, NE to Wisconsin in one day. That was enough. I can't imagine Denver. You had took turns driving, right?
  21. If White House and Bay Street Pub win their games Thursday, a one game playoff takes place at 9 pm.
  22. Just checked. Anna's dropped out and forfeited all games. White House and B.S. Pub tied for first. Standings
  23. What about a pitching rotation? Start with Robin19 and if he struggles again, flip spots with razzzor? #3 would be Jamie or Jimbo?
  24. Same lineups as last week? Do we start off with radman and go from there? Some incentives: 1. A win gives us a .500 season. 2. A win eliminates B.S. Pub from title contention. How about a walk-off win to end the season? Who will be the hero? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
