  1. From right field, I saw the way Yuni was jogging in on the ball and I thought he had it all the way. I was shocked when it went by him. The replay simply blows my mind.
  2. We don't need a big bat if we mitigate the loss at other spots (3B and SS being the top of the list).
  3. I don't know if they have love with Macha, they are just pointing out that the difference in records between 2010 and 2011 reflect more on the players than the managers.
  4. I thought he was pre-arby and would get under $1M. I'd file the release papers the day after the WS if there is any chance of him making $3M.
  5. Bring him back and see if he can regain his lost glory. Then trade him for as much as possible.
  6. I just read this thread. The IGT makes a lot more sense now.
  7. Which is why the Untuck'Em was infinity better. It meant you had won the game. Screw personal achievements, make your team win. If that means HR, fine. If that means making contact to move the runner, fine. But don't suck for 8 innings and then gloat about a useless stat increase.
  8. brettac1 wrote:the Brewers got his best years.I'm sure the Twins fans thought that about Ortiz. Who was protecting Fielder all year? Protection is not that important over a 162 game schedule.
  9. I'll be in 204 (RF bleachers) Row 1, like I have for every Brewers postseason game in the last 25 years.
  10. The hatred for Big Bang Theory in the IGT both here and at Gateway Redbirds. It is one of my favorite shows on tv, especially when they cancelled Stargate Universe. I wish I was more like Dr. Sheldon Cooper. I can understand hating the overplaying of the commercials, but you knew TBS (and Fox) would do that for the playoffs. This is the reason they pay so much for the big sporting events, to run commercials for their own station.
  11. Please no. Packers quarterbacks are bad luck for the Brewers.
  12. Major League Baseball sets WS tickets. It costs the same at Miller Park bleachers as it does for Yankee stadium bleachers.
  13. His wife is notstanding behind him.
  14. H4P wrote:The Brewers ... have fun and do goofy crap that would annoy most on this board if it weren't the Brewers doing it. How many were/are annoyed with the Rangers Claw and Antlers? This isn't much different. Except for Morgan. I would be totally upset if he was still on the Pirates and doing this stuff. I'm starting to get annoyed by it now.
  15. We need Greinke ready to pitch on Wednesday. Keep him pitching today.
  16. I don't know if they are celebrating the 5 year anniversary. I think they are just celebrating the last time they were in the NLCS.
  17. His signing of Big Papi was a good signing. It had always been the rule to get good RH batters and avoid power LH bats for the Red Sox. He found/did/used a study that calculated that a good LH stick that can go opposite field would thrive at Fenway. He was chided for Ortiz by the normal media (the Joe Morgans of the world) that Ortiz would disappear in that ballpark. He doesn't get credit for Youkilis. The Greek God of Walks in the Red Sox system was talked about a lot in the Moneyball book. Epstein didn't become the GM until the end of the season.
  18. As much as I'm a boob man, I'm also a full package man. She's not ugly (and she could be the most wonderful person to meet, I don't want to blast her), but she does not do it for me. I know I'm getting a bit tired of the attention to her. But I understand that some men only look at physical features below the neckline. She was even mentioned in the Cardinal in game thread for Game 1.
  19. Try the "sister" site. It's called IdRatherBeWatchingFootball.com or something like that.
  20. jjfanec wrote:Hopefully he has another Carl Crawford, Lackey, Dice-K or JD Drew type signing. Prince Fielder? The Cubs always seem to be able to get good trades. Hee-Seop Choi for Derrek Lee. Jose Hernandez for Aramis Ramirez.
  21. He wasn't just a part of the World Series team. He was the NLCS MVP in 2006. This is the first NLCS game in St. Louis since he won that award. It is a logical choice just based on St. Louis's side of things. It just stings from our side because of what happened in the years after that.
  22. I think things will start going downhill for the Brewers pretty quickly in the next month. It may be years before we win a division again. Why couldn't Selig convince them to hire someone like Bando?
  23. I've got the Cards in 5.
