  1. Dear Brewers, I don't want to be crying sad tears in section 204 today. I like happy tears. Please make that happen. Thanks, Robin19
  2. The Yankees aren't going to loose their clean up hitter for the past 6 years simply because they can't afford him. We're about to witness the end of an era here in Milwaukee. Please excuse my lack of sympathy for the Yankees.
  3. I want to stop caring about 82. I don't want 82 to be the answer of the best Brewers year. Dominating the playoffs would be boring. We would get rusty if we swept people and had to wait around for next round. This is just making it a better story to be told to the next generation of Brewers.
  4. I'll release my predictions around Nov 1st.
  5. I'm at Defcon 1. I am actually frightened about attending tomorrow. Sure, we won two games at home. They demolished us the past two games. I think the crowd might become a non-factor by the 3rd inning tomorrow.
  6. Can't blame me. I voted Giant D...I don't think I am allowed to use that word.
  7. Having 8GB I'm assuming it's a 64 bit system. 64 bit Vista is even worse than 32 bit Vista. The only real answer is to upgrade. If you buy the upgrade only CD, you won't need to re-install any programs. The only pain would be if you ever wipe the hard drive you would need to install Vista and then upgrade again. I'm typing this now on my new (got it Monday) work 64 bit Win 7 box. I feel so dirty using my 32 bit Vista laptop at home now.
  8. I hope she makes many more appearances. She is just naturally funny. She was also doing her lines better than the regulars on the show. The problem with Kristen is that they keep trying to give her a regular bit. They find one slightly funny character she makes and does it over and over again. Target Cashier, That's Molly, and now Deformed Sister. They had hits with the last cast (Roxburry Twins, Cheerleaders, Mary Catherine Gallager) and they are trying to repeat the magic.
  9. I would puke if the Brewers did that. I can't stand the sausage that does that. Why not do the World Series Shuffle if we're going to mimic nearby sports teams?
  10. zurch1818 wrote:On a side note, he was complaining about Vista being slow. After looking at his startup processes in the task mananger after a reboot, he had 95 running. Just after killing all the autoupdates process/services, we dropped it down to 70 and it was running about 50 times quicker. This might be the obvious answer, but I've got to ask. First, Vista is slow. Second, how much RAM does the computer have? I know of a desktop that was sold from Gateway with Vista already installed. The person complained it was slow and wanted to get a new, faster computer. I checked and found there was 512 MB of RAM on it. That's just enough to run Vista, if you aren't planning on running anything else like antivirus or a web browser. For $50 I got them 4GB (8 times the amount) of RAM and it was like a new computer.
  11. Were people in the stands listening to the Brewer game on radio? Did anyone seem more interested in the baseball game than the football game in front of them? Did the crowd ever rise up and cheer for no apparent football reason but an obvious baseball (Braun HR? RBI singles?) reason?
  12. Because we don't get why someone would steal a small grill.
  13. When you brag about showing Green Acres and Happy Days, you don't really need to concern yourself with how great your signal is. Your average viewship is just happy to have a color TV and a great grandkid to set the VCR time.
  14. Interesting comments over on Diamondbacks Bullpen. Here's a snippet from their In Game Thread. I found it funny, when we have complained about our lack of a quality bench all year. I would guess that no one thinks they have good bench players.
  15. I was (and will be for the rest of the playoffs) in 204 row 1.
  16. Interesting that they already picked the 9/30 NYY game for prime time, but have not made a decision for any 10/1 game. I would have thought Phi or NYY would already be penciled in for prime time. Is it MLB or TBS that gets to decide times?
  17. Or it points to the another argument for there is no such thing as "protection in the lineup".
  18. I'm sad because this is my tenth full season ticket in the bleachers and my first chance at a HR ball on the fly. I have one other HR ball, but it was a Prince HR the Marlins player threw back into the crowd. May 12, 2009. JJ was on the ticket.
  19. The 3rd HR was right to me. The lady two to my left leaned over and grabbed it. I don't know whether to be happy or sad about (maybe) Prince's last regular season Brewer HR.
  20. I think it will be like Braun's RoY win. It will be (one of) the closest vote ever, and you can't fault any of the voters (unless someone does something stupid by not voting one of them #1) for picking one over the other. I really hope Braun wins, but won't be upset if Kemp wins it. Both men deserve it for the years they put up.
  21. According to Cot's, the Marlin's payroll is at $57,695,000. This article suggests that the Marlin's payroll will be $80M next year. So they can supplement their young stars with a good player or two (likely pitchers). Ozzie may be just the manager that H Ramierez needs to keep him in check and playing good ball. I'm not saying they'll run away or even win a division, but they could have a good core team to build off of next year. Maybe we could trade RR back to the Halos. I know a lefty "muscle" guy that can play third and provide some pop that they have. I think BF.net would have to be shut down if that trade is made.
  22. I saw this cartoon on xkcd and thought of this thread.
  23. The problem is that we want the Dodgers to win from here on out.
  24. I am more interested in what the TV guys say next year. IIRC, they didn't rag on Johnny Estrada too bad until after he was off the team. I think the same thing will happen to Yuni.
  25. They try to start them in RF, but the Field level RF bleachers are the worse place to start them at Miller Park. My feelings on the wave should be reserved for a post in the What's Bugging You thread.
