  1. $275 a seat for a bleacher strip. I hope my rep put our tickets together. It would suck to go to the playoffs and not sit next to whomever I go with (JaDerHeyski or Mom). I hope we have the option of buying additional seats (TR?) like we did in 07. I don't remember about (and didn't have the money) in 08. And we are in the Loge level despite my season tickets being on the Field level. I hope you lottery winners enjoy my seat.
  2. As a 82* game holder, I have not been told of anything yet. * Yes, my package comes with an 82nd ticket. That is game #163, in case a tie breaker is needed and it is played in Milwaukee.
  3. In my Operating Systems class, we got to discussing extended warranties. The teacher said that extended warranties are always a bad idea. He had one exception. He said you should always always buy the longest warranty you can for laptops. They make the components as small as possible, which leads to a higher chance of error. You are also more likely to knock, bump, drop, wet, etc a laptop than other pieces of electronics. I don't have a suggestion for your laptop needs. I bought an Dell XPS almost 3 years ago and it's still going strong. I paid nearly $1300 for it. I upgraded most of the parts because I wanted it to be my main gaming rig for several years. If you are "just" using it to surf the web and check e-mail, this is overkill.
  4. I filled out the survey, but did not get invited. If it is a lunch time reception, I wouldn't have been able to go anyway.
  5. I see a reason why Morgan's SB% is down from previous years. He was always on horrible teams. He probably felt that the best (only) way for him to score was to steal his way there. Now that he's hitting in front of Braun and Prince, he doesn't need to force the SB.
  6. I play in a four team league that re-drafts every other year. My friends on Team Yellow knew I was moving up to Washington County and weren't sure if I was going to play on the souteast side of Milwaukee, so they didn't draft me. I ended up on Team Red. Red is 2-10, Yellow is undefeated. Yellow's pitcher is the guy who got me into the league. I play fall ball with the pitcher, the left side of their infield, and their entire outfield. They know I look to dump it to right center field despite me batting right handed. The pitcher tries to get me to reach for a pitch outside or pitches me in. The outfielders play me in. It's just tough for me to face them. I decided to change things up. The pitcher knows I like to take pitches and draw walks. I look for a strike right away. The first pitch is on the inside corner. I jack my hips open and hit it right on the sweet spot. My friend in left field takes one look at it and simply turns around and runs. It landed 30 ft past him. At the end of the day I was a HR shy of a cycle plus a sac fly. They are no longer undefeated. It feels great.
  7. Is Rollie Fingers #2? Fingers solved his tax problems a number of years ago.
  8. I wasn't watching this thread, but this article I linked to in the Random News thread answers the Rodriguez questions. It was a trade that fell into Melvin's lap.
  9. No. I don't want to give them extra base runners, especially in front of their big hitters. I would condone a nice tower buzz a foot over the head to every batter until warnings are issued.
  10. If you can't get enough SRO tickets that day, you can always buy extra tickets from the vultures scalpers. Get 8 SRO tickets and 2 seated tickets. All 10 of you can do the SRO.
  11. Funketwon]Adam Dunn's 2011 batting line: .163/.294/.302/.596 That's pretty incredible. This is from the Random MLB News thread. Think about it for a bit. Despite hitting only .163, Dunn gets on base more often than Betancourt. I know that is one of Dunn's specialties, but most major leagures should have a bad year and still OBP better than .300. Low OBP is one of the problems on this team. We need to find a SS has a history of getting on base. Getting one that also has a range larger than falling over will help the pitching staff.
  12. I've watched a lot of Brewers commercials in my time. Both in the stadium and on TV. It's come to the point that I don't even pay attention to them anymore. We were watching the game today, when JaDerHeyski noticed something about the Sausage Sundays TV ad. We are in the ad. It was when I had my beard, so it was before May of last year. Who knew we've been regulars to all of your eyeballs this year.
  13. Then bring in a Loogy to face one batter. The batter is Schumacker. Schumacker walks on four straight.
  14. Really? I can't see Cardinal Nation tolerating the Lambeau Leap (the actual leap, not the site...well, maybe also the site).Maybe I'm wrong, but when I lived in Wisconsin and people met transplants from out-of-state, we didn't ridicule them for not abandoning their hometown allegiances for the Packers. Living in St. Louis for the last five years, people are beside themselves when they find out I'm still a Brewers fan. That's the difference. There's this expectation that you'll just fall in love with the Cardinal nation because they are the Cardinal nation. They're more like the baseball equivalent of the Cowboys. I have always been ridiculed for not cheering the team on the other side of the state. Despite the fact that I've always lived closer to Chicago than Green Bay. The Cowboys are more like the Yankees if MLB ever had full profit sharing and a salary cap. You wouldn't think the Cards would tolerate throwing at people or watching home runs. But they do when it's their own team. The Packers can't stand excessive celebrations, except when they do the Leap or the Title Belt. The Packers tolerated and excused Farve for all of those years, just like the Cards tolerated McGuire all of those years. The Packers play football the "Correct Way".
  15. Warning Track Power wrote:For comparison's sake I got to thinking this morning about the Cardinals and how everyone hates them. I think it is fair to say that they are, without a doubt, the biggest rival for the Brewers, Reds and Cubs. This reminds me of the Packers and the rest of the NFC North and them being the Vikings, Bears and Lions biggest rival as well. The difference is the level of respect that the Packers garner from the other teams. Sure the other fans/teams hate the Packers, but there really isn't anything outwardly offensive about them. Maybe the other NFC North fans don't like Rodgers' Title Belt or Driver's shuffle, but that stuff is generally done out of fun or enjoyment of the game. Not only that, it is difficult to hate a team from a town of 100,000 people that is publicly owned when the Cowboys, Eagles or Redskins spend gobs and gobs of money and they haven't won a Super Bowl in almost 20 years. Certainly you hate the team because they win, but you respect them because they are well run, have fun and respect the game in a manner that isn't condescending.1. The Packer franchise is the football equivalent of the Cardinal franchise.2. There is a salary cap in football. The NFL East can't spend "gobs and gobs of money" on players, where it really matters.
  16. Wow, was that you watching me from the window the other night? Also, I might have to change the Cubs logo to the Cards logo in the urinal after this series. Why choose? I'd put both in there.
  17. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4CHZ2gq08SA/TWQlWaRKbPI/AAAAAAAAE_0/dCJQ3qVq3rU/s1600/48hrs.jpg Name the movie.
  18. I walked away, what happened? Hawkins did his "quick pitch" where he doesn't come to a set position. You only have to come to a set position if there are runners on base. Berkman wasn't ready for the pitch and took a fastball for a strike. After Drunkard complained, Hawkins did it like four more times in a row. On his last pitch he came to a set and struck out the batter looking.
  19. I missed the trivia answer earlier about active players with 8 teams. Is the answer 3?
  20. Did Yadi blow up at an ump about his DP? I'm following on GameDay and hoping it is true.
  21. I'm a "hardcore" season ticket holder, so I don't know what the lowest level is. They send out invites using e-mail, so they need to have your address for you to get it.
  22. What the H?!?!?! I watched a recorded Jeopardy starting in the top of the 5th. I came back to the top of the 6th. Rock and Brian were talking about a Yuni HR. I looked at the score and just about fell out of my chair.
  23. It's too hot, and we're too tired. We aren't going tonight. Please don't make it one of those games where I find something else to watch on the TV. I promise to keep watching, no matter how many runs you're beating them by http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
