  1. What's the percentage of balls hit turned into outs? ~70% iirc. I'd rather Rickie take a lot of pitches and risk the strikeout than swinging early in the count. It may not look good in one at bat, but it increases the pitch count and lets everyone see the pitches he throws. Yu-Sucky refuses to take a good hittable pitch. He has a low strike out rate. I'd rate Weeks as the better hitter.

If we played the WBC during their pre-season workouts and during our season, I'm confident that they wouldn't dominate as well as they do.

  4. Really can't see that movie being worth watching on a HD tv or even in a non-3D theatre. It is still the only movie I've seen in 3D that was truly made for 3D, and the added depth really brought the movie to life. It wasn't worth watching for the plot, it was worth watching for the visual uniqueness and ingenuity it brought to the screen.I watched it back in March or February on my new PS3. It was the first Blu-Ray movie we saw (borrowed from parents). The movie (and Blu-Ray) was stunning, but you could tell it was made for 3D. The normal action shots needed in a movie usually move left-right or sometimes up-down. Everything seemed to be front-back. There were also constantly things moving in the foreground in front of the actors. It was a weird experience since the shots were framed so differently than what you are used to.
  5. I'm assuming we take one of six games. Anything better will feel like luck.
  6. I'd add DM to the list, since he allows this to continue to happen.

He seemed to handle the Brewers (lack of) bats just fine. I'm staring a 1-5 home stand in the face. And I don't know how they win 1. On positive news, it was really easy to get out of the lot after the 9th last night. It reminded me of '02-'05.
  8. Nothing to help rebuild Lackey's numbers and confidence like mowing through the Brewers hitters. I love when almost every pitcher sets season or career strikeout marks against us. I can't wait to here Bill singing praises about Lackey's great pitching and saying the Brewers ran into bad luck facing a good pitching performance. The good new is that the Cardinals have also stopped playing baseball. However we let the Reds and the Pirates (the Pirates?!?) back into the picture. It seems like the NL Central is going to be a game of "Not It" all year. from the Cubs series>
  9. There may be times he was arriving late (the media can see that he comes late) and he tells the team he didn't get enough sleep. Both the team and Braddock realize he can't pitch that night. This might explain why he doesn't pitch on some days that scream for a lefty. This leaves RRR an arm short. And he has to answer media questions about why he didn't use Braddock. Maybe RRR has been covering for him for a while. If this is what was going on, it makes sense for the Brewers to send him down to the minors and bring up someone that they know can go every day. The DL is an option, but Braddock needs to learn to deal with daily baseball and his disorder. The minor leagues are harder to adjust to than the majors, but he isn't filling a roster spot in the minors. And when he adjusts to the minors, it will make dealing with the disorder in the majors a breeze.
  10. I bet they get a lump in their throat with a 4 run lead at their rival's place. I can't imagine Sox-Yankees games are any easier for a fan then Brewers-Cubs or any other rivalry.
  11. I've got a bad feeling that we are going to be pounded tonight. Like a 9-1 loss that was over by the 2nd. Please prove me wrong. I'd really like a W (especially against a Zamb--o led sCrubs) on by birthday.
  12. I might be getting a new laptop in the next year. I like Dell's customization on their website. Where do you suggest someone shop?

Playoff teams usually have that reversed.Like scoring 4 runs in 4 batters when a starting pitcher on the first place Cardinals is handling you all day?
  14. Melvin is always "fighting the last war" as it were. Yost didn't understand how to use stats to make his decisions. Melvin hires Macha (probably the best candidate of stats based managing). Macha couldn't connect or inspire his players. Melvin hires RRR, the guy most likely to be a player manager.
  15. Invader3K wrote:Disappointing game considering Wolf pitched well enough for a win.He has a personal catcher that provides no offense. And even if it was a bad decision, Wolf let Yuni out to dry on the squeeze. I'm not feeling that bad that he didn't pick up the W. I am feeling bad that RRR gave away a W to the Cubs.
  16. Which is why the DH will never be eliminated. It would cost agents and players too much money.
  17. I expect Kotsay and his career 1.017 OPS to start against Dempster. I don't want that to happen, I'm just prepared for RRR to make that decision.
  18. Caught that...just priceless. The sound of defeat in their voice was just beautiful. Next words were...this Miller Park crowd is smelling first place.I would love to get a clip of this. Can anyone share (or point to) this online?
  19. I would guess he was questioning the strikezone on the pitches before the homerun. It was a small strikezone tonight, but it was being called that way both ways. The 2-2 pitch was just an inch or two outside. Molina held the ball there expecting the call. The next pitch was jacked. Carpenter probably thought he should have been done with Prince but was now burned with a home run.
  20. obsessedwithbrewcrew wrote:Somebody at the bottom of the order needs to wake up, we can't have McGehee, Betancourt, and Gomez all slumping at once. I don't think the bottom of our order is slumping all at once. I think the bottom of our order sucks. Bill Hall got DFA'd with a .201/.265/.341/.606 line. After Prince, we have .231/.290/.333/.624, .234/.260/.346/.607, an MLB hitter in Lucroy, and then .220/.275/.353/.628. The last one brings plus defense, so I can tolerate the need to keep him around. The other two bring minus defense. They would be bad bench players for this team. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. This should be proof that "protection" in the lineup does not exist. With no protection, Prince is still hitting .300 and almost leading the league in HR's and RBI's.
  21. I still remember the Marlins of '03. Late May, here at Miller Park, a team I thought was bad came in and embarrassed us. They then went on to win it all.
  22. Inside Miller Park, the concourse goes all the way around the stadium. There is no Brewer HOF, but there are several points of interest on the route. I don't remember where they all are, but here is what I remember. Near home plate is an trophy cabinet (like in high school) about Hispanic players in baseball. Between home and third is a nice area about several Braves legends. Buried in the left field corner of the stadium is a wall of signed baseballs. When the stadium first opened you could pay money to write on a ball and have it displayed. It is now filled. Intermixed are baseballs signed by famous people, present and past. It is cool to look and find names you recognize. In the same spot in the right field corner is something most fans don't know about. That is where our plaques are located. All of the awards the Brewers hand out yearly (Team MVP, Minor League Player of the year, Best Newcomer, etc) are located there. I haven't looked at it since last year and it wasn't updated with 2009 winners yet. But it is fun to look at names and see who we thought were great in previous years (like Bill Hall). There is also a spot about Wisconsin natives in MLB, but I don't remember offhand where it is. Like I said, it's not a HOF. But baseball geeks might find some of these points interesting. I sit in the RF bleachers. You may get some verbal abuse from fans, but nothing should get serious.
  23. In game Diamond trivia: ?'S are numbers I don't remember offhand. Guess the Brewer. Clue 1: He led the majors with a ?2.90? ERA in 2009. Clue 2: He was drafted in the ? round in ? by the Kansas City Royals. "Fan" answer: Uhm, Prince Fielder?" Robin19 and JaDerHeyski: "?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
  24. A lot of SABR terms are not in Firefox either. Lots of red comes up on these forums. I had to edit my BrewBerry's dictionary. Every time I typed "HR", it would change it to "hour". JaDerHeyski kept getting confused when I would send her a "The Brew now have 3 hours today!" message.
