  1. Probably because some fool danced with sexually suggestive moves.
  2. Perhaps some fuel like alcohol... I want And That to explain his new avatar. I also want a large copy of that image.
  3. I won an all-inclusive (besides taxes) trip to Puerto Vallarta from WKTI a few years ago. What's funny is that I never listen to that station. My mom listens and really likes to enter contests, so she entered every family member separately. The next year I also won a Soprano Trivial Pursuit that I gave away since I've never seen the show.
  4. Cubs - Personal hate. Miami - They don't seem to want to win. Baltimore and Toronto - too hard to win in that division Royals - Too far away from winning.
  5. Might I suggest my house?
  6. As soon as Parra makes $28M a year and plays for the only team America cares about.
  7. Believe me, I haven't forgotten. In fact, every time we see him, I refer to him by his full name. His middle name is not allowed on this forum.
  8. I have a Dell laptop, and it was the charger that went on it. All signs pointed to the battery, but it was the charger. It seemed like a lot of people online complained about the same charger I had. Luckily, mine went right before the warranty expired and I was able to get it exchanged for free.
  9. I think you could have given me two of his names and I still would not have guessed him. He was completely wiped from my memory banks.
  10. I think Escobar was trying to bunt for a hit. Since the result was Cain on 2nd, it became a sac.
  11. Civ V lets you play in DirectX 9 or DirectX 10/11 mode. My laptop doesn't meet their "minimum" standards, but can still play in 10/11 mode. There are graphical issues, but the gameplay is fine. Everything runs in 9 mode, but it isn't as pretty (there is no unknown fog, just blackness. And the fog of war is just gray toned land). I think they increased their requirements after being bashed for Civ IV. They undershot the minimum requirements when it was first released. It ended up the minimum requirements only let you play on small maps with one opponent. Anything more and the game chugged to a stop. People were angry, and really let them have it on the forums. I think Civ V's requirements are for the largest map with the most opponents. I play on standard maps and don't have a problem.

And second, do you know how difficult it is to catch and charge someone for doing it? What exactly did you expect MPD to do? Take fingerprints? I'd bet she probably has about 10 sets of fingerprints on her car at any given time. And even if the cops do pull a print, what does it prove? It proves that they touched the car, nothing more. You're comparing a big city department's reaction to a property crime to a suburban department's reaction to an ID theft. I don't think that's a very fair comparison. And for what it's worth, I had my car broken into in Shorewood a few years ago. They didn't take fingerprints. They didn't find the guy, as far a I know they didn't do anything. Reports for crimes like that are done more so so the victim can make an insurance claim. It's not that they didn't catch the guy, they didn't even pretend to try to look for the guy. They never did an investigation. They never sent anybody over. They took the call over the phone, gave a report number, and they were done. She was left with her windshield shattered all over the inside of the car, and all she got was a randomly generated number. Four to five times a week there is a squad on the street of the workplace to watch for speeders. The suburban police actually talked to my girlfriend in person and took notes.

I'm guessing you've gotten a few parking tickets and traffic tickets before and now seem to think that that's all they do? If it makes you feel better, the DPW are the ones who write the vast majority of the parking tickets, not MPD. Of the top of my head, I can remember 4 MPD cops that have been shot in the past year +. I'm sorry but I just really despise people that say crap like this. You obviously have no idea what the job entails. FWIW, I have never been pulled over for speeding. And the only parking tickets I've gotten were in Madison (which I payed because I deserved them. They didn't get me the other ~20 times I parked without a sticker). I base this on every time I've had to report something to the MPD. Other police districts that I've reported crimes to actually did work to try and help me. The local suburban PD did more work on my SO's debit card number being used out of state than the MPD did when one of my employee's windshield was bashed in and her stereo taken. I don't dislike police. I respect them very much. I dislike the system the MPD runs. Just like I don't dislike teachers, but dislike MPS and the teacher's union.
  14. Just don't expect the MPD to actually do anything, except write traffic and parking tickets.
  15. Escobar is being benched for his attempted bunt. I told my mom that I would surprised if Escobar was still the SS at the end of the game.
  16. There is several versions of ciV available. KMart is either gouging, or is running the ad based on the "special" edition. It doesn't matter where you buy it. It only runs through the Steam service. The disk contains the same files you download from stream, but either way it takes a connection to steam to unlock the game to play. I don't know what the deals are, since I preordered from Direct2Drive. I got the special edition, plus the next DLC pack for free, plus $10 off for a total of $49.99. All D2D gave me was a code. I had to install Steam and give them the code. I got the source files from Steam. As soon as a DLC pack comes out, D2D will give me a code for that also.
  17. We didn't know Davis would go to the DL for the second time in his career. Nor do us fans know how much money it would have taken to get Garland.
  18. ciV day! Unfortunately the last Brewers home stand will consume too much of my time this week, but next week is ciV all day, every day. Civ Rev is very dumbed down. I'm a huge Civ fan (I've bought every game, including every expansion and Civ Rev for DS and 360). I don't play on the harder difficulties, I like to play on the middle level and have fun building a civilization to my liking. Civ Rev was the first time I could win on the hardest difficulty. Also, there wasn't much difference between random games if you're playing the same Civ. In the PC, the world can be radically different based on the starting settings. Playing on a Pangaea map is different then giving every civ it's own landmass. I would give pc ciV a try. There are more options, but the lowest difficulty walks you through everything. There are several Civ Fan sites. My favorite is CivFanatics.net. They will have tutorials, walkthroughs, tips, mods, etc. I'm the one that links to BF.net in his sig http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif (although I don't post very often over there).
  19. Melvin (Doug) interviewed how many people in 2002? One was Ned Yost, later hired as Brewers manager. Another was Ken Macha, later hired as Brewers manager. Another was Melvin (Bob). Mevlin (Bob) is also out of coaching. It makes sense that people are connecting dots.
  20. I think everything past the jump spin and holding his hand was overboard. If that was all he did and he took 1st base, no one would be talking about it. It became overboard when he kept grimacing in pain and called a trainer out to look at it. Just last Wednesday I was playing 2nd. A flare was hit to the outfield. I ran out to be cut off and saw the center fielder dive in for the ball. I swear I saw it bounce right before it stuck in his glove. The ump (from behind home) called him out. I talked to the fielder and he believed he caught it. I still think it bounced.
  21. I hate that the Brewers just don't seem to care when they face the Cubs. Then I have to sit here and get harassed by their fans.
  22. What happened with the recall of Micah Hoffpauir? I missed how Hendry botched that. I don't like that this was circulated in Milwaukee. It makes us look bad. But I hope Hendry is the Cubs' GM for a long time.
  23. That he'd seriously consider buying his home town team for what may be it's cheapest price after this court battle? I'd find it highly likely he's interested in the Dodgers. But this could just be hope from me that Cuban buys the Brewers.
  24. I thought Dickerson had it coming. Watching in person, I thought he slammed the helmet as a direct showing of the ump his dislike of those calls. I would have been shocked if Dickie hadn't gotten tossed.
