  1. What game and inning was it? I have MLB.tv and can just go watch the game.
  2. So they could rub it in that the visitors have a large amount of fans there.
  3. I saw several sections in the 4th deck empty on Sunday. It was near the RF foul pole. The Brewers sold 31,000 tickets, so there were around 10,000 empty seats in the place. Somehow there weren't 4 seats together in the 4th deck? I think bjkraut may be on to something.
  4. I assume they are referencing a competitor, but I can not think of who they are making fun of. Any ideas? I hate any add for a lawyer that will get you out of a DUI. "Anyone can make a mistake." You should just thank your stars it's not a felony in Wisconsin.
  5. Any other links to the display? I keep getting crappy NFL news.
  6. I have 2 tickets for Wednesday night's game. First row in the Right Field Bleachers (1st deck). I've been trying to sell them for $15/each ($30 total) but have found nobody available. These are right above the AirTran Airways landing zone right next to the pre-game show desk. If anyone from BF.net would like to buy them, PM me. Five rows back where you can't see the scoreboard retail for $30/each right now.
  7. Here's why I'd be weary of the deal: 1) Suppan is an ex-Pirate. 2) Suppan is an ex-Cardinal. 3) We've had trouble hitting against Suppan before. If we add "4) he's on the Cubs", Soup will pitch a perfect game against us.
  8. Wait, I thought Sheffield said we were all racists here in Milwaukee?
  9. I was there. It was kind of nice because there weren't many band wagon fans for either side there. What wasn't nice was that the Cubs fans spent the whole time cheering while the Brewer fans spent the whole time trashing their own team. Not that I blame either side for doing what they did. I did plenty of trashing myself.
  10. The Brewers knew that 9/20 would be a Packer game, but they would not know if it was at home or that it was a Gold Pack game. They also have to pick people that will be on the team at that point. With all of the Cam trade rumors, he was probably ruled out. We've already had Weeks, Hardy, Prince, Counsell, and Hart. Nobody was talking about McGee. They chose Kendall, Braun, Soup, and Hoffman. The only other choices would be Yo and Parra. Both were questionable coming into the year. I think they're doing too many a year and have run out of ideas.
  11. I'm working at the airport rental facility today when I saw a customer walking towards me. From 100 ft away I think I recognize him. When he gets to me I check the name on his rental agreement, and sure enough it's one Mathew Gamel renting for 10 days. I was very stoked, he was his California surfer dude not-caring attitude self.
  12. In left field all balls hit to you slice or hook towards your right. In right field all balls hit to you slice or hook towards your left. In center you must deal with slices and hooks going either direction. It is easier to track balls in the corners than in center. In center you have to figure out which way it is curving besides where it is hit. One also has more ground to worry about in center. Very rarely does one move up the defensive spectrum. Braun's already moved down once in his MLB career, it would be odd to then move him up the scale.
  13. 100% chance. 2 for Escobar means it's now 2 for Hardy.
  14. So this means Butler won't make his first MLB start against the Astros, but if needed we'll start him against the Cubs 5 days later? I'm sure Macha won't use him so it will be how many days since he last took the mound?
  15. IIRC, the teams have an uneven split of gate receipts (70/30 or 60/40 for tickets), but the team gets 100% of broadcast rights. So the Rays get nothing for being on untold million households with YES.
  16. Yankee fans didn't fret in '96 about Jeter leaving in a couple of years. Red Sox fans aren't pusing to try and make the playoffs before Pabelbon is traded away. Yet Brewer, Twins, Rays, Pirates fans all have to worry about their stars leaving in the forseable future.
  17. One problem is that if Escobar hits .210-.230, his OBP will still be bad. I still throw my hat into the Escobar ring for simple business reasons. Cheap Escobar + Hardy trade > Escobar trade + Expensive Hardy. For the Yankees it might be a less than sign, but we need to save money where we can. If there was no Escobar, I would pull for bringing back Hardy next year. This is the Twins way we decided to emulate.
  18. I love what Casey's done this year, but he reminds me of Hall. Can't hit in the minors utility infielder who suddenly finds his stroke in the bigs? I expect a cliff in Casey's 3-year forcast. The question is whether the cliff comes next year or the year after. And we don't need to convince 29 GMs that he will be great, we only need one dumb GM to think he's worth trading for.
  19. So stop worring about it. They went with Escobar. Hardy flat out said he wanted to play SS for another team. This will make him easier to trade to another team. Hardy wouldn't do what's best for the team and switch positions, he did what's best for him. Well, the team stopped doing what's best for Hardy (giving him service time before he was ready) and started doing what's best for the team.
  20. If Hardy went down to AAA and dominated, he would have to be called up on 9/1 or earlier. Instead, he stunk down there. He had his chance to play his way back up here and he blew it. And if he wanted to be in Milwaukee long term, he should have seen the writing on the wall and agreed to a move to 3B.
  21. Suppan was always mediocre at best. Losing productivity = more pitches per batter + more batters per inning. That leads to less innings per outing with more 4 and 5 inning starts. That leads to less innings at the end of the year. We should have seen this coming also.
  22. The only problem is that a Peavy/Halliday trade would cost Escobar and Gamel, losing your young infield. Also, what about Weeks? Are we trading him also?
  23. The problem is that we are finishing the easy part of our schedule. Those games in September against the Cards and Cubs that were supposed to be our way back into the race look like death nails to destroy our record. All week I've DVR'd the games so I only had to watch the offense (re: Braun and Prince) in real time.
