  1. My heart jumped into my through when I saw the title of the thread and forgot which side of town the cubs play on. I'm ok with the Sox getting him.
  2. My first and last time at the Triple H Dome will be this weekend. I've got tickets for Friday and Saturday. Sunday I'm taking the SO to the mall. We have to be back in Milwaukee by Monday for the Dew Deck with BF.net. What a great weekend.
  3. I will say 5, with the last one being 60 HR in '29.
  4. If I already bought seats to a sold out game and don't want to sit in that area, what do I do? (Not me personally, but a general question)
  5. Anyone can buy discounted parking. As long as you buy it before the day of the game, it is at a discount. If you are in the stadium on Thursday, you can buy regular parking at $8 each for the upcoming weekend. Preferred parking is also discounted, but I never park there and don't know the price. Regular parking is not discounted for Monday - Thursday games whether you buy them ahead of time or not.
  6. The first one was estimated at 372. So now I know I sit 374 from home plate. All those years as a season ticket holder, and this is my first HR ball! I am still pumped about it. Quick disclaimer: I did not catch it on the fly. I wasn't going to loose my hand. It hit off the cement railing in front of me and back onto the field. Carroll picked it up and threw it back to us and I grabbed it. I also caught Cory's warm up ball in the ninth. I handed it to two little girls sitting next to me who were huge Hart fans and were asking for him all game. The second blast was estimated at 432. At least, those were the distances announced over the PA at the ballpark.
  7. When he first came up he was listed at 6, but since then they've update it to 5'11". That's probably why some sources still list the 6' number.
  8. Ask Arroyo about having loyalty to a ballclub. I see Braun kind of like Aramis Ramierez. A guy you can't stand when you're facing him, but someone you love if he's on your team.
  9. Of all of the games for me to forget to DVR this season... I hope they replay this tomorrow afternoon.
  10. There isn't, but you know the old school guys who read "The Book" would tie themselves into knots.
  11. Do you know what would be uber funny? If the Brewers let the Reds tie it up in the 8th, but because the Reds already used Cordero the Brewers score in the top of the 9th to win it. Of course, the hospitals in Milwaukee and Cinncy would fill with heart attack victims.
  12. See Cameron in SF. He got to 2nd. In soccer, they're usually kicking the ball around just to get a positional advantage. Baseball runners are trying to score points. They will run home in 15 seconds. And usually the trainer starts going onto the field before the play stops to help the injured player. So playing on in baseball really doesn't delay the medical help they recieve.
  13. A lot of people stay for the kids run. Sundays are always easier to get out of the lot, especially when the Brew Crew wins.
  14. That's what I meant. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
  15. If Rickie hits a hard line drive into play instead of swinging and missing or fouling off, it will lead to more pitches and a greater chance of a walk. I think his success at hitting ropes into play is what is causing the decrease in walks.
  16. The umps would also need to interpret whether a batter swung at a pitch. It would also save the umpires headache if they can blame the calls players don't like on the technology.
  17. I've been doing that since about 6 months after finding this wonderful site.
  18. iirc, a sac fly does not count against SLG either.
  19. On a personal selfish note, I hope today is a blowout win. I can't make it, and can't wait to stand and cheer Hell's Bells on Tuesday.
  20. I just bought4 tickets. I'm bring the SO and her parents. As a warning, her parents are Cardinal fans. But they are the respectful kind of fans, so you won't here any abuse from them.
  21. I think the word on Prince is to bust him high and in. Miss a little bit and it's a HBP. That's probably why he's gotten so many. That's a price you sometimes pay for covering the outside part of the plate with so much power. Nothing intentional, just something that happens to people that crowd the plate like Weeks also does.
  22. What! What are the Phillies doing PH for their C? What are they going to do with no C on their bench?
  23. Speaking of Bush vs Toronto, wasn't Rivera catching that game as well?
