  1. As I said in the preseason prediction thread, no.
  2. Here's the thing that boggles my mind. All of last year, I seem to remember people complaining that CoCo wasn't brought into the game in the 9th inning of tie games at home. When does Yost decide to start doing that? When the dominant closer leaves and we get a shaky one.
  3. I just got a new uber-laptop that came with Photoshop. It's the first time I've had so I was waiting for a perfect time to use it. I saw the title of this thread and realized this was it. http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/2687/yoststandif8.gif
  4. I also have the code, if more people want some tix.
  5. I agree that the Arizona Cardinals is a bad organization. But he makes fun of them for trying to win the last game of the 2003 season?
  6. Yet. With the amount of ex-82 Brewers we hire don't be surprised if they don't become our new Pitching and Bullpen coaches.
  7. Ned is going to be pulling out all the stops and it's going to be hilarious to watch. What about this senario: LaRussa lays down in the series to give the Brewers 3 wins, knowing that will keep an inept manager guiding one of your division foes? TLR is evil enough to pull that off.
  8. Why did we get rid of Butch Wynegar? Because the team struck out too much, didn't draw any walks, and didn't have a good approach at the plate. After a little more than a year on the job, Skaalen is getting the same results. Maybe it's the clay and not the sculpter. But Skaalen might be fired simply because we can't fire the clay.
  9. I remember tons of fans saying during ST that they would be pissed if those two didn't begin the season as starters. I think I'm finally figuring out that DM can not evaluate pitching. He's been able to pring in a couple of "meh" players and have them play above their heads (Davis, Turnbow, etc) and he makes trades for pitchers that turn out to not be any good (Linebrink, Latin Cappy, etc). Now that we're stocked with hitters maybe we need a change in leadership that knows how to go out and get some pitching.
  10. We are 4-8 since trading Gabe Gross. The players are obviously upset we traded away our best player.
  11. Teams double steal with a really great base stealer running for 3rd base. Usually a moderately fast player is taking off towards second. I always wondered why catchers wouldn't try to catch the slower runner at 2nd rather than the fast runner at 3rd. Especially with two outs. As far as not seeing Ted "doing his work" stealing signs, I am gald I haven't seen it yet. The last thing I want is for FSN to broadcast to everyone that Ted is trying to steal signs.
  12. Simba is probably just doing what Ned tells him. I don't think we can blame Simba on this. I'm not trying to hate on Yost, just saying that when the manager leaves he still calls the major shots.
  13. Helton projects for 40 more ABs and more hits (and average) and runs scored. Dye is supposed to have more HRs and SBs. Don't really have any advise based on that.
  14. If you only count the first three innings, the Brewer games have been pretty watchable. Except for tonight.
  15. You know it's going bad when the announcers say, "We didn't score, but at least we got someone on and threatened." This isn't chess. Threatening to score isn't the equal to scoring.
  16. Until at least the 150th game of the season, I will always root against the Cubs. No matter what the race projects to be at the end of the season.
  17. It would be bow down before the God of baseball GMs if Marmol came to the Brewers for Turnbow and Gwynn. There is only one thing I don't like about how closers are used. In extra innings, if the game is about to be lost because of an inept reliever, put your best guy in to save the situation.
  18. I feel sorry for Turnbow. I had fond memories of him. After his first save, before he was named our offical closer, I picked him up in my fantasy league. Probably the best move I've ever made. He was a rock star for a year or so. I hope he gets a chance to fix his head for some AL team. But the writing was on the wall to move him off the Brewers 25. Dillon was probably picked because he can play more positions than Branyan. That is probably more important to an NL bench player than power potential.
  19. It's because they aren't hardcore baseball fans. You should see the hooting and hollering in the bleacher at The Keg every time Prince hits a pop up to 2nd base. PS. I hate Carlos Z.
  20. The producer also needs to direct all of the cameramen on what shots he wants. He has to direct Treni to what parts of the stadium and what to talk about. He is getting information from his stat guy and deciding what to throw up on the screen and what camera to use to show the stat. He also has to worry about getting the promotions up at the right time. While all of these people are talking to him he also needs to listen to the broadcast to make sure the video is following the audio commentary. He's also looking at slo-mo angles from previous plays to try and find something that was missed in real time. I'm not apologizing for the broadcast, but simply pointing out that the producer's job is a lot harder than just picking from a couple of camera angles. This is why it becomes obvious when a producer who's never done a live sporting event is trying to run the production.
  21. I respect Brady and wish him the best of luck. He'll be back in 2010. He needs to spend 2009 as a coach before we'll resign him.
  22. Kendall's replacement would be Rivera. Do you expect Rivera to put up a better line than that? I think Kendall has the bigger chance to outproduce given his career performance. And pitchers seem to like Kendall back there.
  23. I turned the TV off after the Soto HR in the first. I could tell the Brewers were just going to become a rented mule and I just couldn't take it. Not against that team and fanbase. I worked on my VB.net programming instead. My brother came in and asked how the game was. I told him I turned it off before we got the second out. He didn't want to talk Brewers again.
  24. Unlike the rest of April, yesterday's loss can't be put onto the shoulders of the offense. I believe Tuesday was a "watershed" game for the Brewers bats. My girlfriend used her photshop skills to try and cheer me up. I thought I'd share it with everyone here. http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/6899/brewerscubscarmanfj8.jpg
  25. Home: St. Louis: 1-3, TLR continues his trouncing of Yost. And the STL pitchers understand you can just throw sliders off the plate to get all of our rightys out. Dodgers: 2-1, They don't look too good. Atlanta: 1-2, Cox also > Ned Houston: 2-0, Might be 1-1. another not good team. 6-6 at home Road: Chicago: 0-1, Hard throwing righty ace means Brewers can't hit the ball Houston: 2-1, they're bad at home too Florida: 1-2, their young guys hit. Our young guys try to play beer league softball Boston: 1-2, I'd consider it good to not be swept Pittsburgh: 1-2, a very bad team. But we need to play this series at PNC. Washington: 3-1, Doesn't seem like a hard series, but the Brewers may let down and drop two. 8-9 on the road 14-15 record in May, 29-27 record overall.
