  1. I ripped all my DVD's a few years ago. I used a program called Handbrake to do it. http://lifehacker.com/5972430/most-popular-dvd-ripping-tool-handbrake
  2. Well, one way would be to rip DVD's that you own into a watchable format beforehand and then copy them onto your tablets ahead of time (this is what I do). I haven't used vidcoder yet, but have heard good things. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/VidCoder
  3. Erin Andrews on the DP Show about Sherman & the Interview:
  4. http://www.baseballthinkfactory.org/newsstand/discussion/matt_garza_goes_on_twitter_tirade_against_eric_and_kaycee_sogard He sounds like a lovely individual. I guess this is alright. I'd rather they signed a first baseman.
  5. I'm almost positive that is the case. Also, if you are a high lottery pick, you are almost guaranteed to go to a bad situation. Even if someone wanted to avoid Milwaukee, the odds are high that they'll be in the mix again next year. The bottom line is that money rules all for these guys, and it spends the same no matter where it comes from. From http://www.nba.com/news/important-dates/ Which means, a player can declare, not hire an agent, and then if the Bucks get the #1 pick.... decide to go back to school. Ugh. That horrifies me.
  6. Everyone should have to play like they did in the 60's! On greenies and with no off season training or good nutrition! Heck, make them all take second jobs like the guys in the 30's! I don't understand the idea that there is some hard line to be drawn, and if you cross it, you are suddenly a horrible person. As for your other comments, he isn't stealing from other people. He isn't robbing a bank. He is an entertainer. Are you going to chastise Charlie Sheen for the steroids he took while filming Major League? Or Sylvester Stallone for what he took in Rocky? If you're relying on athletes to set an example for your children and teach them how to live, I'm going to tell you that you're raising your children wrong. 1) Children are going to watch/hear/talk about sports. That's a fact. 2) Children are going to emulate their favorite athletes. That's also a fact. 3) Many children are going to participate in sports. It's not really about relying on athletes to set examples. I'm not sure if you have children or not, but I sure wouldn't want mine thinking that cheating to get ahead in sports is acceptable. Nor would I want them doing harmful things to their own bodies. And yes, if professional athletes do it, it's more likely to be accepted by kids. These are illegal substances here. We're not talking about Braun smoking a cigarette. Where does one draw the line on that kind of activity? And telling a parent that they're raising their children wrong is about the worst and least tactful thing you can say to a parent. Even if there might be elements of truth in it at times. First off, I don't have kids. I was raised to play, follow, watch, love, and emulate my favorite athletes. I was a huge Paul Molitor fan. I have never done cocaine. Why? Because my parents taught me right and wrong, and they taught me that there are consequences for your actions. If my (future) child was a good enough athlete and thought they had a legitimate chance to set their entire family up for life by using steroids, I would tell them to know the consequences, both physical and the worst case if they got caught, and to do what they wanted. Would I let my 14 year old take steroids? No way. Would I inject my kids with an HGH perscription? Heck no. Again, I think we have a huge group of amazingly smart people here, and I'm not trying to offend, even though I know my comments rub a lot of people the wrong way. I just feel as though this idea that kids are going to use steroids because of Ryan Braun is pretty absurd. Kids have been using steroids for 30 years, because they are misinformed of the consequences and/or the benefits, or they simply do not care. Heck, 90210 (!!) had an episode about it 22 YEARS ago. http://90210.wikia.com/wiki/A_Competitive_Edge
  7. Tents are great, but lacking refrigeration sucks.
  8. The problem is, after 6 years on the job, John Hammond has approximately 5 assets with positive trade value, none of which you really want to move.
  9. You can't screen swipe to get to the next e-mail? That's just weird. I have been looking at what I might use to get my work e-mail on my new phone (HTC one Mini), so I'm in the same boat as you.
  10. Attendance was the same last year on weeknights when they were fighting for the 8th seed. People need hope to be convinced to buy tickets. Same thing happened with the early 2000's Brewers. Once there was hope, the attendance went up.

  12. Your personal demands are completely different from mine. I don't comprehend, nor do I understand the anger and hate for a guy who wanted to simply be the best he could possibly be. Steroids haven't ruined the game of baseball, they are still amazingly prevalent within the game. It hasn't tainted anything in my mind, and it is ridiculous the media storm that these things have created.
  13. Defense gave up 31 the last 11:30. That is terrible. Managed to only shoot 4 FT's... Indiana shot 10, completely unlike a Bo Ryan team. I hate to say it, but glad they lost. It will get that undefeated monicker off them, and hopefully the team realizes they aren't so good that they can stop playing defense up 10, with 12 minutes to go in a game.
  14. It is one of the faults of a lot of companies. The Boss's daughter, or the unqualified person gets the job because they look the part, whether or not they can actually handle the job.
  15. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=10268663 I told my parents they need to find a way to adopt him. I've always wanted a little brother.
  16. When there are 15 or so completely qualified guys who could and should be in the HoF on the ballot, and the average number of votes is barely over 8.... well, you have a problem. It's only going to get worse over the next 3-4 years. Joe Posnanski with a great breakdown here: http://joeposnanski.com/joeblogs/hall-of-fame-recap/ Yet another reason why I think all ballots should be public. If you can't defend your choices, you shouldn't be voting.
  17. Parker is a 3/4, he won't be playing the 2 at all. Wiggins is a 2/3, much like D-Wade.
  18. 1) Something to be done about pitching development organization wide. Clearly it is flawed. 2) Mike Fiers to come back healthy and be given a legit shot in spring training. He clearly wasn't the same last year as he'd been his entire career leading up to that point. 3) Our manager shows he knows what a platoon is at some position on the diamond. 4) Segura hitting better than he did in his Yuni-esque second half 5) Weeks hitting leadoff.
  19. Jackson is so talented, but he makes me shout "What the heck are you doing?" at the TV more often than any player I can remember.
  20. Way to go man. Seriously. My 65 year old father is trying that, after smoking for 45 years. I hope it works.
  21. In the NFL you have 22 starting players. The NBA has 5. If they wanted to get rid of the superstar bias, they would need to remove the salary cap. Guys like LeBron and Durant are hugely underpaid (while most middle-of-the-road guys are overpaid). Anyway, as for the "trading Sanders" rumors, that came from Amico, who mostly seems to just make stuff up and hope some of it is true. Considering he never seems to have a source in any of his articles, his opinion is no different than yours or mine, really.
  22. -- They aren't moving Rickie anywhere, without paying most of his salary. The 11 million is going to be paid. -- Gennett is NOT good in the field either. I know, he's a gritty battler, so he must be, but every coach and the numbers and his noodle arm suggest otherwise. -- Your numbers are off on the number of LH starters, over the past 5 seasons, the Brewers have faced an average of 44 LH starters each season, it fluxuates a lot, and I am too lazy to look up the number of LHP in the division this year. 4) You're using numbers from the games with a LH starting pitcher, not their stats vs LH pitchers, so Gennett's numbers are amazingly inflated, he had a .329 OPS against LHP last year. He only started 6 games in which there was a LH starting pitcher and somehow got 28 PA's in games where there was a LH starter. Yeah, he pinch hit against righties, a lot. In 122 PA's last year, Weeks put up 0.3 rAA (runs Above Average, from Fangraphs, 10 rAA = 1 Win). In a paltry 39 PA's last year, Gennett managed to put up -5.2. In 40 PA's against LHP, Scooter managed to lose over half a win over Weeks last season.
  23. You forgot the full title. Rocky IV: Rocky Ends the Cold War
  24. As far as I know, last season, the demand based pricing didn't move any ticket prices until about 6 weeks before the games.
