  1. Brewers/Braves related: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MLN/MLN195905260.shtml AKA: The Harvey Haddix game. Any game, all time.... hmmm... Game 1, 1988 World Series. Kirk Gibson. Eckersley. 3-2 backdoor slider....
  2. I love this girl. Her bend & accuracy were on display all match long. She instantly won me over. She was the unsung hero in the Women's world cup. No one seemed to talk about her, but she is the one who stirred the drink of their offense, always seeming to be in the right spot at the right time, and put the ball in the perfect spot.
  3. 6? That's not right... Dalembert, Gooden, Pryz, Sanders, Ilyasova, Luc Richard, Udoh, Henson.... that's 8. Sigh.
  4. 4 of the 5 fastest Olympic times ever in the 100 meters. The only one not there: Bolt's 2008 time. My gosh.
  5. Norm MacDonald doing the "Bible Trivia" show was one of the funniest thing's I've ever seen.
  6. Eddie Murphy, as Stevie Wonder, singing My Cherie Amour.... in front of Stevie himself (who is playing a Stevie Wonder impersonator) The end of the sketch is unbelievable.
  7. Great article by Tango the other day: So, 28 players per DRAFT become positive MLB players. That is amazing. Less than 1 player per round. Trading for promising AA and AAA players, or even low ceiling AA and AAA players would seem the way to go.
  8. Considering it is Weeks or Gomez. I'd much rather have Weeks in front of Braun, since they will SLG about the same and Weeks will carry an OBP about 80 points higher.
  9. "Think date" could mean many things.... what are we talking for a dinner bill for two? Trinity is close to there, good Irish food, would run you $40ish for dinner with drinks. Mo's steakhouse is right there, literally, and could run you a small fortune for dinner and a bottle of wine. You're only two miles from Sobleman's a relative hole-in-the-wall with one of the better burgers in town. Mader's is maybe a mile away, slightly pricy, but very good German food.
  10. Do you think Rivera would've had any post season success had he played for the Pirates from 1996-2011? Or would the Pirates had any post season success had they had Maddux or Mays for that 15 year period? Rivera is great, but he was a subject of the teams he was put on.
  11. If you want to dig through the audio archives and find it, the bottom of the second starts at the 1 hr and 5 minute mark of the game. Thanks for posting this. That was great.
  12. I was at a game when Rick Helling struck out the side on 9 pitches in the first inning... I was at a game when Prince hit a foul ball up into section 405. I was also at the game when Prince hit the Road Runner sign. (May 29th) I still cannot believe how far that ball went. I was at both Braun HR games in 2008, and the clincher in 2011 (hey, another Braun HR!). Oh, and in 2006-2007, I went to 4 Brewers road games. Coco Cordero blew a save in each one of them, including the Aramis walkoff at Wrigley.
  13. Lock. Total lock. Done deal. 2 weeks ago.
  14. Tensions are high! EYE FOR EYE!
  15. DM was just on WSSP, and to paraphrase, said he never had any legitimate offers for Hart or Ramirez so talks never really progressed with teams for either of them. I think they got more than expected for both Kottaras and Greinke, so I think DM gets a 13 out of 10 from me for those trades, and a 5 out of 10 for not moving more pieces, leaving him with an aggregate of 9/10.
  16. As for Harper: 1) He had an .826 OPS at the break, he's been horrible thus far in the 2nd half. 2) Everyone knows his name. If he finishes anywhere near an .800 OPS he will win ROY. 3) Aoki has a .770 OPS Harper has a .768. Saying Aoki has blown him away is a huge stretch.. 4) Aoki is 30 years old and a batting champ from Japan, that will hurt his stock in a lot of voters minds I'd imagine, many won't even vote for him as a result. 5) Aoki plays in Milwaukee for a horrible team. Harper is on the "First Place Washington Nationals." I want one of our guys to win it, but I just don't see them having a shot unless Harper gets benched.
  17. Chris Capuano is the TRUE ACE OF THE STAFF.
  18. He has a .367 BABIP this year, there is no way he keeps that up going forward. He is actually BB'ing LESS this year than he has in his career (a Gomezian 5%). Having him learn 1B to "keep his bat in the lineup" assumes he will be better than whomever we trot out to play 1B in the future. I sure hope he isn't. He has a .398 wOBA this year, last year it was .310. League average for 1B is somewhere around .350.
  19. I'm disturbingly looking forward to "Orcs Must Die! 2"... the first one was so fun, for so cheap ($8 I think, on Steam).... yeah. Stupid addicting puzzle games.
  20. The two main milwaukee sites: WSSP - 1250 and ESPN Milwaukee WSSP: Brewers Postgame Show, Big Show (2-6 central), and sometimes Chuck and Wickett. Also Bucks Postgame is decent. ESPN Milwaukee: All I do is listen to Green and Gold today, and podcast any of Jason Wilde's stuff.
  21. I am convinced Sveum blew his shot by starting Suppan instead of Gallardo in game 4 of the NLDS.
  22. Macha's teams actually played a combined 2 games over .500 in August and September. So, I don't think you can really say his teams quit.
  23. and I prefer to quote Jar Jar Binks, "Dissen berry, berry bad. Oh! Icky icky goo!"
  24. I went in '06 (thanks for blowing that save, Coco), so my information may be a bit dated, but the Riverwalk area was a lot of fun for us for late night entertainment. Also, another older thread
