  1. How? They don't have anything in order to move up that high. Besides their current 14th pick, Mbah a Moute is probably the only other movable guy we have. That's not enough to get in the top 10. I have to say, I haven't been excited for a draft like this in a few years. They have Ellis and Sanders and Udoh and Mbah a Moute. I wonder if they could do Ellis/14 for Bogut/7 with Golden state...
  2. I'm not sure. Something in my gut tells me that White is going to be a good player in the league. He kind of reminds me of Shawn Marion. That said, he's build like Marcus Fizer which scares me, in addition to the Iowa St. tie. I think the the major issue is that he will be a SF and his shooting is pretty suspect. There are some other issues with him, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him turn into one of the better players from this draft. I'm not saying he won't be a good player, I'm just saying 14 would be a reach for him when he could probably be had in the 20-25 range. He'd be a good trade candidate if the Bucks say traded back for 21 and 22 from Boston or something. Boston is for sure picking him if he's there at 21, so trading down would have to be... I dunno... Houston at 18? Ha! He'll play small forward, he's definitely in the "point forward" mold, and rebounds very, very well for a guy his size. His off the court issues are incredibly blown out of proportion (I think, at least), and Milwaukee would be the perfect spot for him (the same way it was for Greinke). Watching his highlights, I feel like his ceiling could be Paul Pierce esque. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=usQJQi3IiE0#!
  3. Call me crazy, but I want Royce White, even at 14.
  4. They've got me so down, I don't feel confident up 4 heading to the bottom of the 9th at home.
  5. Yes, forget the guy with the .350 OBP over the last 6 weeks! He's terrible!
  6. I wanted to post this... Chapman last night: http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/numlocation_io.php-pitchSel=547973&game=gid_2012_06_26_milmlb_cinmlb_1&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=.gif
  7. "Show me you caught it." was always what I was told by umps when I used to play. How can he call the guy out when Wise DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE BALL!
  8. The Cask and Flagon is right across the street from Fenway, and is a pretty good bar. They treated us well in '08 when we waited to get into game 2 of the doubleheader.
  9. This might deserve it's own thread, but UWM has made the amazing decision to move all their games to the 3400 seat Klotsche center on campus. Being an alum, this means 1) I probably won't attend any games, and 2) there is no way this can possibly help with recruiting.
  10. Silly question, but do you wear special running socks when you run? It may not be your shoes... (or they may simply be too small, when I used to run, I wore 1/2 size bigger in running shoes as your feet usually swell a bit when you run).
  11. When your choice to play is a guy with a sub .300 career OBP vs LHP. Yes, play the guy who has potential to do better than that. Both Ransom and Maysonet are both terrible hitters, and have proven that over their MLB and MILB careers. There is no reason for either one of them to play anywhere but SS on this team, but our manager has chosen not to do that.
  12. So, 86 wins for the Wild Card. They are 33-40 now. 89 games left. To get to 86 wins, they would have to go 53-36. That's a .595 winning percentage, or a 96 win pace for a full season. Yeah, not going to happen. edit: I have no idea how I am bad at math.
  13. If they're going to try to stockpile average starters, they should trade down and get more picks. Superstars are there to be had, they are in the top 5, as they've been for the last 20 years. They could've probably had one, had they not stupidly traded Bogut. If Ellis can't get them a top 10 pick, then that trade was horrible. Are they committed to Skiles? The guy cleaned out his office. CLEANED OUT HIS OFFICE. Expecting a buyout. When Kohl basically told him he was going to pay him about twelve dollars for his buyout, he said, "What the heck, I can come back then." Sorry, the Bucks incompetence just frustrates me. 10 year old Heat fans have experienced more in their 2 years of fandom than I have in my 25 years as a Bucks fan.
  14. Yes, what we should do, is model ourselves after the one franchise to do it that way and win a title in the last 30 years. Instead of the franchises who won the other 29 titles.
  15. Let me just show you this, since May 6th, when Green was called up: Ransom: 9 starts at 2B/3B Maysonett: 3 starts at 2B Green: 4 starts at 3B/2B Now, you tell me what is wrong with that situation?
  16. Cannot wait until RR brings in Dillard or Loe to face Votto/Phillips/Bruce. Can't WAIT! What a disappointing month. The 15 game stretch vs the Pirates, Cubs, Padres, Royals, Twins.... they went 7-8. 5 of the 8 losses coming by 1 run. This year, though, they haven't had 4 guys on the DL at the same time from the bullpen like they did last June. Guys simply aren't performing.
  17. Well, they have the 9th best FIP in MLB. Not bad, not bad at all.... but they have the 3rd worst ERA.
  18. 1) He's raised his OPS 225 points in 6 weeks (since May 8th), while carring a .360 OBP in that time frame. He hasn't been the problem. 2) He doesn't make any more mental mistakes then the rest of this team does, like Gomez getting picked off with Braun up, Aoki making the last out at 3B or deciding to throw the ball around the infield like a little league team to lose a game.
  19. If his bio is right, he's at least 3" taller than Prince.
  20. http://steroids-and-baseball.com/ Do some reading. Learn the topic --- unlike the media. Then comment. If I were a conspiracy theorist, I would say, he took something last year to help him recover and stay healthy from his nagging hamstring injury. Now he has a tendon problem. Steroids are known to cause those types of problems.
  21. Yep, 95 degrees outside, c'mon Yo, you're good for 150 pitches or so.
  22. 1) Can you explain the bolded point? It makes absolutely no sense to me out of context. 2) Everyone worth their salt says you need 3 seasons of defensive data for it to be accurate & that would then extrapolate into an accurate WAR calculation. Why do you then assume half a season of WAR giving a wonky result makes it irrelevant?
  23. Gonzalez's deal is not guaranteed, and as a 36 year old having suffered a major knee injury most of who's value is tied to his ability to move quickly laterally on defense... I doubt he'll be back. Here's a solid list for 2013 and beyond: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tz1FL3X6KldYXIoGOHXpv6A&output=html Every guy in Arb will get some sort of raise.
