  1. The ref's are terrible. Simply terrible. Bill Simmons wrote about the 2001 Bucks series this week: (scroll down to number 10)
  2. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51ANCwQnIjL._AA280_.jpg Wearing it. Every Start.
  3. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Boston move Ellsbury for Miguel Cabrera.
  4. Here's a decent explanation of how the draw worked. Basically, they pick 8 teams, assign them to groups, and then randomly (with some caveats) selected the remaining teams.
  5. Step 1) Unhide your folders in windows explorer (tools -> options -> view) Step 2) Browse into your ipod and find the hidden folders with all your music files Step 3) Copy said files onto your new hard drive Step 4) Open up iTunes, and make sure under preferences -> advanced "Keep iTunes Folder Organized" and "Copy Music to iTunes folder" are both checked Step 5) add the folders you copied to the desktop to iTunes That should be it. Your user name and pw from iTunes should allow you to re-access any files from iTunes you've already downloaded.
  6. A 13th pitcher (maybe a second LOOGY?) would seem to be way more valuable than a 3rd catcher and the 15 or so AB's he may get during the year. At least, from my point of view.
  7. WW2 in Europe is a great course. If it's the same prof as I had 2 years ago, you'll really enjoy it. Avoid Mythology at all costs... I can't remember offhand what the prof's name I had was, but it was the worst course I took at UWM. The guy made us buy his own book with his own translations and his own theories as to what ancient Greek and Roman myths were about.... and spent half of ever class explaining why all the other experts and translators were wrong and he was right.
  8. If at all possible, do a Luau. Absolutely amazing and totally awesome thing that people can do. Also, don't forget to sunblock. Lots. You're pale Wisconsin winter skin cannot handle the warm Hawaiian sun.. and a bad burn can ruin a trip. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. I doubt he could be much worse than Braun would be in RF.
  10. What irks me the most, is the complaints about Bud's tenure as commissioner always stem about 3 things: Steroids, Revenue Sharing (and/or a salary cap) and the strike.... oh, and the idiocy of BOTH managers burning through 14 pitchers in 9 innings. What gets me the most is, he was supposed to have avoided a players strike and gotten this exorbitant drug testing program and a salary cap! You ask people "How?" They never have an answer or even the hint of a suggestion. But, lets all throw stones at the kind of geeky old guy.
  11. For remote streaming a minimum of 256Kbps uploading capability is required, while for HD streaming an upload speed of 1.5 Megabits per second or higher is required. So, I doubt DSL upload speeds will top 1.5MB/s You'd have to check with your DSL company.
  12. Sleeves, or maybe packing tape? http://www.uline.com/BL_3107/Uline-Label-Protection-Tape I figure the 6" type could do you perfect.
  13. A road win with 2 of your top 3 players out is a big win regardless. Paul vs Jennings. Is that one on TV?
  14. Sorry for the double post. Every time I tried to edit, it messed up the formatting. Anyway... above is the market research for the pre-2009 season. You simply cannot compare the Brewers 3 million fans to the Yankees 3 million fans or the Red Sox or the Cubs or... whomever else. The Brewers have shown they are unafraid to add salary to make a push during a given season (CC, and Lopez/Weathers) spending right up to their limit would cripple their ability to do just that.

  16. Shaq's been hurt plenty his career, though. It's the main reason he only won one MVP. Can't believe he's out 2-4 weeks.... just as Redd is ready to come back. Sigh. Anyway, I was listening to 540 the other day, and heard Homer calling Jennings Double Nickles. I was kinda happy about that http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. It's a shame Harris is out for this one. Would've been fun to watch two of the quickest PG's in the NBA matchup on each other.
  18. Because they didn't finish over .500? Last year they won the wild card and 90 games. Tulowitzki will finish ahead of Braun in the voting. I wouldn't be surprised if Lincecum does as well. Heck, maybe even Matt Kemp.
  19. I doubt Prince will finish 2nd, even though he deserves it. Hanley Ramirez, Howard or Utley will. I really doubt Braun finishes top 6.
  20. I will third the vote for Mickeys. Although, I highly suggest a scrambler over pancakes.
  21. Clearly he needs a nickname. After tonight, I kind of want to call him Double Nickle. Wow. Just... wow.
  22. Like the Phillies did with Ryan Howard when they knew Jim Thome was on the way out? Oh wait.... how did that work out for them? Maybe holding onto Gamel and putting him in AAA this year isn't such a bad thing.
  23. It's the caffeine withdrawal that gives you the headaches, so substituting something to help yourself wean off it (tea, coffee, even chocolate) can help reduce the headaches. Obviously that may be trading one vice for another, though.
  24. Yeah, clearly Escobar should've won the GG at SS. He only played, what, 20 games there? Palmiero won a GG at 1B one year when he only played 28 games in the field. Gold Gloves are still a joke, sadly.
  25. I tried 2 degrees below zero by New Belgium this past week, enjoyed it very much. It's an IPA, but not as hoppy as, say, Alpha King or Bell's Two Hearted. Very tasty.
