  1. I wish Heiden could make a list like that. I wasn't old enough to remember the Olympics but what he did is still unfathomable to me. If it weren't for the Miracle on Ice, his performance might've been called that. Tough to argue with the top 5, although, so many things are jumbled in my head, I wonder what might be #6-10. Badgers beating Arizona and going to the final 4? http://www2.jsonline.com/badger/image/2000/kell325.jpg D-Wade carrying Marquette there? The '82 team clinching? (Ogilvie's catch?)
  2. Burgers: Fry up some bacon, chop it up into small pieces, put it right in the patty's. Then, cover the patty's with fresh black pepper. Delicious burger with a bit of kick. Chicken Breasts: I toss 'em in a plastic bag, along with a bit of wing sauce and black pepper, shake it up good (I suppose, some call this marinading) and toss 'em on the grill. Great with lettuce and mayo on a bun. Hot Dogs: Go to a meat deli and see if they have real deli style hotdogs. Seriously. Big as a brat and these things are great. I find them at Pick 'n Save in Milwaukee on Holt Ave. Vegtables: Skewers are your friend. Can grill tomatoes, peppers, radishes and most anything else. Just use low heat (maybe even top-up on the grill), and/or turn frequently. Got more I could come up with, but, now I'm hungry and need to find some food. PS: Jamie, I want to see this smoker!
  3. Yes, the plane's wheels move independently of the force that moves the plane, so it will take off, as the propeller will pull it through the air, unlike a car in the same situation.
  4. Reds Article I almost feel sorry for Reds fans.... almost.
  5. This has made me decide to pursue a new path while applying for jobs (as I graduate with a CS degree in May).... "Have internet. Will google."
  6. This just isn't true.Lee smith only had 3 seasons in his career where he pitched 100 innings. His first 3 full seasons (one of which was '82 and probably his best year). Sutter's career, he pitched in 661 games, and threw over 1042 innings (admittedly his career was short).Smith threw in 1022 games and pitched only 1289 innings. Their 162 game averages: Sutter: 68 games, 107 innings. Smith: 67 games, only 85 innings. Anyway, I thought Smith was great, but his career ended at precisely the wrong time: Just after Eckersley and just as he's coming up for the HoF, guys are blowing by his career saves record.
  7. It really depends on what you are using wins for. To determine who is the better pitcher? To determine a hall of fame candidacy? To decide which pitcher to sign next year? Personally, if I were running a baseball team, wins are pretty much the last stat that I would look at if I was going to sign a pitcher or not. I'd much rather have had Bert Blyleven for the 80's than Jack Morris, even though Morris won more games, Blyleven was very much the better pitcher, Morris just played for better teams.
  8. And also...
  9. You sign a NDA or something? Thats just... cryptic. haha Anyway, great article. Makes me a little less scared of the Cards.
  10. Its the decisions he made I have an issue with, not the results. Just because something happens to work out, doesn't mean it was the correct decision, and because it doesn't work out, doesn't make it the wrong decision. Managing is about putting your players in the best possible situation to succeed. Was ordering McClung to plunk Pujols doing that?
  11. That is why they have trees my friend... that is why they have trees. I know of at least 8 different guys who got tickets last year from doing just that... so, be careful.
  12. I was there too. The Badgers just won (half the stands, it seemed, were crowded in the aisles, watching the Badgers on TV) and Gwynn hit his walkoff what seemed to be 5 minutes later
  13. The boat doesn't sink in Titanic and I never have to watch that terrible movie with a girlfriend again.
  14. Hockey, hands down. First off, you're on skates, second off, there's only 3 of you covering a much larger area than a basketball court, and 3rd... you ever tried to jump over a puck when you're on ice skates? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. Front: You're not a real fan if you just "want to have JJ's baby." (or "think JJ's dreamy" or many other things) Back: But you can become one. Brewerfan.net Another idea, rather simple... will play around and try to put together a picture tomorrow: "Who needs sunglasses?"
  16. Press the winkey + Pause/break to bring up system properties. Click the Advanced Tab. Under performance, click settings. Scroll to the bottom and make sure the 'Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop' is checked. Click Apply, Ok, Ok and your done.
  17. http://www.nintendo8.com/genre/sports/ Not the greatest but its there....
  18. Dempsy's offside was actually on the ball played to him, not on the shot, he was a smidge offsides. Why it took so long for the ref to call it, I have no idea. Clark looked terrible, he kept getting sucked way too far forward and left too much space for Mexico to work. Onyewu played great, though.
  19. Baseball Stars for the original nintendo. Wow. Amazing.
  20. 3 beers. Without shotgunning.
  21. Kenall can hit 8th. Thats a huge upgrade over Estrada, who, no matter what, could not go into that 8th hole, as he would never take a walk, and would never "clear the pitcher" as a result.
  22. Clearly, we need at the Super Bowl. And I'm only half kidding.
  23. Gus Johnson Hands down. Gus Calling the NCAA's Last Year
