  1. I am glad they let Capellan hit. I don't want to see those scrub relievers come in the game.
  2. It's probably way to early for that considering that Clark has already been used and we have to pinch hit for the pitchers who will be coming in every few innings.
  3. Then only send him paychecks during the second half of the year.
  4. Wow, the Cardinals did not score. Finally.
  5. Wow, the replay showed that Ned got really heated up during that argument. Maybe Yost should be going off on Jenkins like that instead of the umpire.
  6. Oh man, Capellan can't get anyone out either.
  7. If they want to speed up the games, just start the count at 0-2 whenever Jenkins comes to hit.
  8. Can someone elaborate in more detail what Tommy Lasorda said to Ben Sheets? I missed it.
  9. I had fun at the game tonight. It was a nice "character building" type of win. The best thing I liked was that Turnbow shut them down 1-2-3. We needed that.
  10. I will likely not be able to attend either. Sorry about that. EDIT: By the way, are you okay Jamie?
  11. If the Brewer hitters try to pull everything against Mark Mulder, I am going to be very angry tonight. They have to think about hitting to the opposite field. Mulder induces lots of double plays by getting hitters to roll over on offspeed pitches over the outside half of the plate. Time to make adjustments. Wynegar has got to keep on these guys tonight.
  12. If you are looking for ideas, maybe it might be cool to have the BF.net logo somewhere on the card. Yes? No? http://www.brewerfan.net/images/icons/farmhops.jpg
  13. I would like to see the outfielders get at least some flexibility to use their own judgment as to whether hitting the cutoff man is the best option or whether they should directly try to gun down a runner at one of the bases. There are times when I know if I throw it to the cutoff man, he will not have time to turn around and fire a relay throw in time. Sometimes the cutoff man is also very close to the outfielder and it makes sense to just go ahead and throw it directly to second, third, or home. I can't speak for everyone, but I feel pretty confident in my ability to fire off a good throw to any of the bases or home if necessary. Maybe that is why I prefer some flexibility to use my own judgment.
  14. I usually play a little deep in left centerfield because I feel more comfortable charging in on fly balls and because I don't want anything going over my head for extra bases. I honestly felt like I was hustling and sprinting throughout the game either to get to catch the ball, field the ball, or to back up the other outfielders. But if someone feels there is room for improvement in terms of charging towards a ball on the ground, let me know. I am open to suggestions.
  15. OH MY GOD !!!! Thanks so much for making that. It is so cool to see yourself on a baseball card. BTW, I am actually #2 and not #21 so if you are planning to edit anything, please change the number. But seriously, I love it. Great job.
  16. YESSSSSSS !!!!!!! No pink bat today?
  17. There was a runner at second base and Jenkins came up to hit. Did you hear Jim Powell's description of Jenkins' swing ? "Swing and a miss by Jenkins, strike three. Another big upper cut swing by Jenkins. Jenkins is not the type who shortens up with two strikes" (This is why we lose games)
  18. I noticed the article about our 18th round pick Andrew Clark and how he was upset at being drafted so late. I personally think he could have handled it with more class. Even if he wants to go to college instead, he should have at least expressed some appreciation for being drafted and not been so angry at the scout who called him. The impression I got from the article was that this kid is a little arrogant.
  19. I am going to try and get there between 6:00 and 6:15. If anyone else wants to play catch and get warmed up a little early, feel free to join me.
  20. Not only was Dave Bush awesome tonight, but those were some of the best hitting approaches the Brewers hitters have taken all season. Kudos to Butch Wynegar as well. Great win.
  21. I think Yost was upset with the umpire for ordering the bat boy to go away and forcing Bill Hall to pick up the bat. But Yost was clearly not happy about Hall's behavior either.
  22. Another high school pitcher? *sigh*
  23. On a side note, the KC Star is reporting that the Royals will draft Luke Hochevar with the first pick. They were already in negotiations with Scott Boras.
  24. MIddle relief and starting pitching are just as important. Every inning counts equally. In my opinion, closers get too much credit and too much blame.
