  1. Brewers need to give Chad Patrick a shot at the rotation.
  2. Most of Biloxi's pitchers have deserved a callup. Many are old for the league so need to be challenged at AAA. I think Yeager Shane Smith, Yoho, and Bowman are most likely. Gardner and Russell Smith are as well but are on the IL. How they make room at AAA will be the challenge as well as backfilling AA.
  3. Apart from some significant performances, both Perkins and Frelick have hit poorly recently. I see redundancy between the two. I'd like to see Frelick optioned to AAA to work on his hitting. Mitchell has been crushing it in his rehab including keeping the strikeouts down (Small sample alert). I'd like to see what Mitchell can do in the majors in hopefully a longer stretch.
  4. Players who will burn their last option this year are: Taylor Clarke, Owen Miller, Vinny Capra, and Janson Junk. I imagine that will play heavily into whether they will be tendered a contract at the end of the year. I don't think any of these guys are "must keep on roster" next year. Taylor is intriguing since he has been worked as a starter. I presume he will get a callup in the second half to see what he can do.
  5. Fairly certain Tayden Hall has another year. He was drafted in 2022. Low and Vallecillo are also safe as they were 18 when drafted/signed in 2021. The rest look correct, though some of those may be minor league FAs. Logan Henderson is the only clear "must protect" at this point. There are a number of intriguing pitchers like Shane Smith, Coleman Crow, Yeager, Cornielle, Patrick, Hererra. The downside is that there will be few 40 man roster spots open. With all the 60 IL players we have, free agent departures will not be enough to make room. There will have to be some tough choices this fall.
  6. Why cant we have nice things? edit: Ha! jinx
  7. Let's hope this is a longer stint for Black.
  8. Valerio is probably ready to return to AA from rehab, though I'm not sure they see him as an infielder anymore. Always good to have another player, though Martin's stats this year are uninspiring.
  9. I'm more efficient. Everybody bunt for the fences!
  10. Amazing to believe the Brewers OF is as strong offensively as it is (relative to league OFs). That tells me the only position to upgrade offensively would be at 1b. And with Black at AAA, the upgrade would need to be significantly better than him.
  11. I dont know how that info is relevant. All that shows to me is that Elieser has proven he cannot pitch effectively in the majors. Are you suggesting he should start games for the Brewers?
  12. I wonder what the brewers see in Elieser. I thought for sure he would be the dfa
  13. Update on MLB trade rumors: 😢
  14. Why? Just keep Meeker up. This is likely a short stay for Elieser as we will need that spot for Carlos on Tuesday. Elieser had so much promise coming up but has never been able to avoid giving up HRs. I dont see this going well for him.
  15. Glad we got rid of this Olson kid. He sucks
  16. feel bad for olson. why would they leave him out there for this? A Hr here would put a 10 spot
  17. I'm happy for Meeker. Its a great story. But I'm surprised they did not go with Taylor Clarke who is already on the 40 man roster. When Junis, Mitchell, and Bukauskas come off the 60 day IL soon (hopefully) we are going to need those 40 man roster spots. Meeker will be at risk of being DFA'd to make room
  18. Are we suppose to be taking his name literally? Is he that good?
  19. Worth a try. Fun fact: Koenig has 4 starts in the last 7 games. At this rate, he'll have over 60 starts by end of season
  20. You failed to include Justin Yeager in the Ruiz trade. Shame. He might be the best of the three we received.
  21. They should have opened up their wallet this offseason to get a good manager.
